I hope they adress this because this SnS has the potential for its best iteration imo. The triangle and circle combo have value. Roundslash is decent, spinning reaper rewards completing combo strings. Perfect guard makes block rewarding and both sliding and advancing slash are okay. Charged chop shouldn't be the best dps but they could fix that by buffing PR3 and maybe even power up it's followups. Giving charged chop some utility like higher rate of inflicting wounds would be cool too imo so it has some identity beyond being another high commitment damage option. Also, delete guard slash.Just give me rising out of block.
@@naota909 Right, so it seems like they removed guard rising slash so that you CAN'T instantly follow up with charged chop. They should have reworked so you can't get charged chop from rising and instead make it after spinning only, since it's so strong and they want us to use new finishers etc. This new balancing feels like FFXIV where they just give every class a new combo ender to build up towards except some weapons have better ones and ways to access theirs than others lmfao

Damn this confirms my fears, perfect rush being pointless takes out a decent chunk of the SnS moveset.. PR was also super satisfying to do. Charged Chop would still have a use even if PR did better dps so I don't see why they did that. Hopefully it changes in the full game.
PR hits just don't do enough damage. While I'm fine with the post-MHW PR1 nerf, they need to increase the dmg for PR3 so that the dmg is backloaded in the combo and justifies it
are u sure just because a move isnt the highest dps it makes a move "useless"? unless you are a speedrunner and can stun lock the monster, the chances are every move your weapon has will be the best move at a certain situation
it felt like there was too much commitment to the move with so much going on in the demo. often a monster would just sidestep or get up from its knockdown during the last part of my PR and id just whiff. Gotta say the hit boxes feel super tight, often attacks or dodges missing by a step in one direction or another.
Excellent analysis! Can you analyze B combo (and Y combo) into spinning reaper into powered up charged chop? How does it compare to infinite chop spam?
Very curious the optimal damage of lance now that the speed of mid and high thrust are different, and i think mid thrust even has more damage for one of the hits?
Worth noting that we still don't know about if any of these attacks have elemental mv differences as well, the final version's optimal combo may be different with element
Absolutely, and the MV are likely to change in the final version (and during the life of the game). That said, usually multi hit attacks are good for elemental and charged chop is a multi-hit, so I expect it to remain a very strong option for an element build.
A lot of people are saying the switch axe is bad because the speedrun times are so long, I wonder how its dps compared to other weapons or if we're just missing the highest dps combos
no b/c u need all 3 buffs to test damage and you can only get red buff from training barrel can't test on real monster b/c hit zone values all over the place need to wait for full release for training dummy to be released
So the best dps is chop/cc... Chop is the basic ligth attack if i remember correctly. Thar kinda disappointing... Il like the combo As/heavy attack combo into CC. Very versatile since you can As for small, heavy combo for medium opening and total for large/topple opening
@monsieurglu no Chop, Charge Chop, Rising Slash, Cc, Rs, Cc, Rs You only Chop to start the combo you could use the circle Slash for more damage than Chop to start as well

Maybe the Elemental MVs on Perfect have insane multipliers, and we won't know until we get the full game
