Now this is the SnS run I was looking for, true damage and no boulders damage. It really shows the potential of the weapon! Good run and good combos. You don't even spam that much the charged chop, something I really appreciate!
@@KeshOwlk I actually looked into whether or not spamming charged chop deals more damage. Turns out it doesnt, it does a lot less than the rotations I do in this run.
Personnal impression but sad to see spamming charged chop look for the moment the best option for have the best DPS .. Hope in the final game "Skill" like the final hit of the perfect rush deal more dommage for give back that feeling of reward when you finaly succes to dance with the Monsters
@@HeroDot-by2oz It actually isn't! Just because many speedrunners use it, it's not the case. It's actually really good combining combos and end them with Charged Chop!
Your channel in general has inspired me to play SNS, and it has quickly become my favorite weapon. (Not just in Wilds, in other monhun games as well.) Thank you for opening my eyes.
Very nice showcase! I'm glad I got to see someone really playing sns and not boulder fall simulator. People also need to remember sns is usually an elemental weapon so this beta isn't a good showing of how "meta" sns will be as a whole
Usually. Unless you are playing world/Iceborne. Perfect rush scales mostly off raw in that game and did ungodly damage. But then again outside of weapons like bow and dual blades raw was king for everything in that game. Only time will tell how element will be handled in wilds.
@@chewbacachunks8644 the description of perfect rush in wilds says it deals a lot of elemental and status damage so I think they scaled it differently and that's why it's underwhelming rn with raw
@@stormshadowoffireReally? I didn’t notice that. Those are indeed good news. Hopefully elemental damage saves this weapon. It’s looking quite weak when compared to top tiers like Bow, CB, LS, GS. Even HH and Glaive are way stronger than SnS now. I agree PR was too strong in world, but in this beta it seemed that they cut down the damage a bit too much.
Im curious about the decision of using Focus Strike in 2:53 instead of charged chop to create that wound. Is it to pin point it better? Amazing run learned a lot of new tech
@@imaGiraffeMH It was faster, easier to aim, and did more damage than charged chop in that specific scenario because I was able to do it three times in a row
At worst it's just more situational. It's probably still the best DPS if you have a large enough opening and you don't whiff the attacks, but not as big of a damage difference. After 2 games I doubt they wouldn't know how to tune it so that it's not useless. You can now raise your shield to abruptly end the perfect rush to defend yourself, so it's less risky to throw out against an active monster.
Out of curiosity, is that drill strike thing at 2:53 where it opens the wound super fast an SnS exclusive thing, or can other weapons do the same with their own focus strikes?
how did you shoot lure pods with your weapon out? when I aim it doesn't ready the slinger like it did world. Thx for showing new sns tech with the poking, very cool
2:55 was such a satisfying sequence. Is the ability to do focus attacks on white wounds before they turn red something every weapon can do, or is it only SNS? Either way it looks like something SNS excels at.
@@visby_ That's really cool. People that think SNS doesn't have much going for it probably don't fully utilize the focus mode and its attacks. It feels really good to quickly maneuver around the monster and pick at its wounds, I don't think any weapon gets as much mileage out of focus mode as SNS. But maybe I'm very biased.
How come you'd sometimes spam the circle combo over and over and not end it with spinning reaper when there was a big opening, is it really better DPS?
When I did this run (and the previous one), I mostly did that because it's the rotation you used in Rise. After this run though, I wanted to find out if what I was doing was optimal. Turns out, it was actually pretty good damage, better than spamming charged slash at least. The combo that will deal the most damage will be lateral slash > return stroke > spinning rising slash > spinning reaper > charged slash. I use lateral slash > return stroke > roundslash loop to pad out any longer openings.
@@visby_ I see, thank you. I honestly never memorize the names of most attacks so I wish I can start it up and try these combos on the dummy but it's too late now lol. But I like how you still ended up using a variety of attacks throughout this fight and still killed it quickly. People think charged slash is too centralized but I didn't see you use it much here, I think it's a little too slow and clunky to be throwing out constantly especially on wyvern monsters like this.
It's sad to admit, but SnS has to balance properly. Now, there is no reason to use Perfect Rush or Counter hits.. for DPS better just spam charged chop over and over ((
This shows how imbalanced the weapons are. The run looks pretty optimal with SnS, but still it took 7 minutes, whereas other weapons could easily do 3-4 minutes.
SnS has other advantages, like quick access to items, great mobility with decent defence and is highly versitile. It may not dish out as much damage as other weapons, but it controls the battlefield better
unbelievably weak compared to other weapons. Not even just in damage, but mechanics as well. Not given nearly enough love. Really sad as a life long sns player.
@@henrytalley3739but even other elemental weapons like bow were cracked out of there mind. I understand not wanting to make the weapon a perfect rush simulator again but the compensation feels very lackluster.
