She was not a contender. It was just an interlude during voting. The song is about the World's need for water and the Dutch 1000 year struggle with flood prevention and how we (Dutch) learned not to hate, but to respect the power of water. Remember that in 1000 years, more Dutchies died of flooding than by all the wars we fought combined, including the longest war of independence in history. That is why our engineers nowadays are world leaders in water management, reclaiming land from the sea and flood prevention.

She made us very proud in the Netherlands, and this song touches us Dutch people because we know the meaning of the song as she sings about the battle we fight already for centuries against rising water (sea level) the Netherlands is mainly below sea level and so yes the sea is our biggest enemy with the rising water.

Once again a beautiful song with a message. No matter the cause, climate change is a big problem for a place like Holland where a lot if their land is reclaimed from the sea. It's our children that will have to deal with it. Great reaction
