- The Imulsion may appear to of just been a fuel source for the Humans of Sera, but unfortunately it would lead to wars that would almost end in their extinction. Even still, the Imulsion plagues the survivors in ways you may not know. So lets explore how that may be the case!

Thanks for watching guys! Let me know what yall thought of my theory on the imulsion!
Roanoke Gaming Do you think you can do a Former’s video soon?
When you do your next morphology vid, can you do grims and leeches from resistance, please.
So what would happen if flood meets imulsion?
That would make some sense. However how can you factor in the Razor Hail? It existed before the Lightmass Bombing in Gears 1.
the imulsion+intelligent fungus makes me think "slime mold". just look at what one of those is able to do with a map of the Tokyo metro. XD also the way you described it almost sounds like the Gaia theory. The idea that the earth is a superorganism with systems that form some equivalent of our own. In this case its almost like the planet Sera is just a scaffold for a super organism much like biofilms in real life that form on rocks, polar ice caps, in soil ect.
I really do think the human race is going to go extinct in the gears of war universe. As a gardener, its my experience that Humans tend to ignore the smallest life forms on the planet until their absence or overabundance becomes inconvenient. Then we either proliferate them out of control or try to destroy them all. Dog bites child, we put down dog. Dog licks, snuggles and otherwise adores child, dog becomes youtube celebrity. Its not the dog's fault, it was just being a dog. Insects, fungi and microbes are the same way. If your theory is right and the immulsion is a sentient fungal infection then thats it for humanity.
Also, in prehistory there is a real life precedent for the Immulsion Infection, the undersea microbes that took control of the oceans during the Permian Triassic Extinction. When the planet became too hot and there wasn't enough oxygen in the oceans these bacteria proliferated, turned the oceans a sickly purple color and started spewing hydrogen sulfide gas onto land. The massive storms, the lambent becoming aerosolized and infecting us, it kinda makes me wonder if the twist in the story will be that Sera's future is our past and they represent a forgotten prehistoric civilization.
Wait, Imulsion potentially an invasive and intelligent fungus?

Roanoke: I believe that Immulsion still exists in some form.
Modern-day Locust with Immulsion crystals embedded in their flesh: Are we a joke to you?
Shawn the Prawn I think he means the storms, and the new form of Locusts, and their ability to mutate anything into a new Swarm member.
Yeah i fundamentally hate what they did turning the locust into the swarm.
They should've just said "yeah, this group of locust survived because of a metal or mineral compound that partially protected them." If they really wanted to bring the locust back after gears 3.
Or better yet let us play through the eyes ofvthe locust and see their desperation and starvation.
@@draconisthewyvern3664 so instead of doing something creative and new, you think having the actual locust survive through some bullshit deus ex machina is better?
@@draconisthewyvern3664 that'd be a cool DLC!

Secondly come on, the swarm itself is a deus ex machina for the locust. They are essentially reskinned locust.
What if Sera, the planet, is in fact a living being, and the Immulsion is like a form of blood or immune system?
That's why I liked how alien Sera was. It's so earthlike but also unalike. I don't like the direction the new games have gone, because they just ignore a bunch of this.
@@RedStar441 Not really, they seem to be going with the Locust becoming one with Sera with Sera seemingly possessing Myrrah or something of the like.
They also say planets are brains and animals on the planet are neurons for it needing the electricity passing thru us. Our Neurons not sentient alone but in clusters information is passed. Now the final step really driving this Home are Pictures for Visual Proof/evidence of something super beyond ourselves that we unknowingly contribute to. While I do also like how alien sera was. The idea that imulsion was like white blood cells is a bit much imo.
@gpheonix1 the physics and such are different on Sera the atmosphere is different there are plenty of similarities with earth and Sera but there are some extreme differences remember in gears of war 2 where there was razor hail on earth there is bad hail but not even close to razor hail there's even more evidence to support my argument in the first 3 games fuck look at the bloody characters would you see any soilder like that in real life cole is bigger then bruce lee and slyvester stallone combined most gears are like that gears are like that

I would like to argue that extreme weather is actually being caused by the Hammer of Dawn satellites. Gears 3 kinda had a throw away line regarding the Hammer.
"I do, but the targeting system's screwed. Can't risk it."
- Colonial Hoffman
In the moment we have gotten use to the Hammer being increasing unreliable as the series went on and figured it would just disappear not to be seen again but the massive storms in Gears 4 are a direct result of the Hammer of Dawn. The firing of the super powerful laser has caused drastic changes in global climate and if you notice how the "lighting" strikes and moves across the ground it movement characteristics are similar to the fully functional Hammer's laser.
Yeah, I agree with that. If the storm was Imulsion-based, wouldn't it be yellow like everything else? The storm is clearly red and, like you said, mimic the hammer of dawn.
@@TonyRedgrave They also mention that the COG classified the source cause of the Windflares. Which means they know 100% what it is but they either can't fix it or they have no intention to fix it.
Would assume this is gonna be a plot point for Gears 5 or 6 probably either shutting down the Hammer of Dawn or reestablishing control of the Hammer.
You are overthinking
@@az12223 I don't think I am. Something like the Hammer of Dawn isn't just simply swept under the rug and not talked about.

Yes! I’ve been waiting for this. Thanks Roanoke.
I had this weird thought that the swarm was a process of an evolved imulstion that survived the counter measure. Hence the crystal

Yay, I've been waiting for this! I've always had this theory that it was a parasitic fungus from the way all the Lambent appeared and the stalks. Can't wait for a further analysis on the Lambent variants and possibly an analysis on Lambent vs other Parasitic lifeforms like the Flood.
I fear you, because if you can scientifically describe and explain this disease and other creatures you cover while making sense, to me that means it could be somehow possible

@Corvo@AZ There is a drug resistant super fungus cropping up already, its almost a guaranteed death as the people infected so far had existing medical conditions but its appeared in several different regions but always in hospitals like MSRA does. Its an old fungus thats been around for thousands of years but only recently became pathogenic and drug resistant, its hard to even kill/clean on surfaces.

I definitely like the idea that Imulsion is in fact an intelligent and sentient organism and not just a fungal parasite acting on mere instinct.
It makes it seem a lot more menacing. Even sinister.
Of course, I suppose we will have to wait till GOW 4 before any of this is confirmed. Because right now, there isn't enough evidence to support this theory.
I always wondered what caused the new enemies in GoW3. I was so confused when I first played it and there were these glowing yellow creatures. Great video man, I loved it :)
Once again, awesome video dude
Im been waiting for this!!!!
And I made a new theory of how the Locust can be saved
The Savior Of The Locust Horde do you want to save the locust
I would probably put GOW’s Immulsion akin to the Mitochondria in parasite eve in relation to the Locust 2.0
Basically Immulsion 1.0: we will take over everything, you humans have helped us mutate to success a degree that nothing can stop us.
Adam’s light how gets turned on.
Immulsion 2.0: okay, maybe we do need hosts, these guys were nice in the first place, we did a bad...
Basically parasitic Spanish flu turned into the helpful mitochondria for a subset of species it mutated
There are some species immune to the Immulsion, and even may feed off it so when humans caused it to mutate it may have killed off the koalas of the Locust environment as well as draining of the Immulsion and whatever impacts the Locust had in the hollow
Great video Roanoke Gaming.
I have been waiting for this my whole life
U are such an underrated channel man, i love the content and how much u dive into detail
I always love to see you post a Gears video!
[Consumes imulsion like a boss]
Mutation time.
This makes me wonder if the swarm is actually just imulsion coming back with a vengence, the crystal that protected them did look like a crystalized verson of it, it would explain how and why they survived. This would also not make the swarm locust in essence, maybe that is why ehy tried to form a new queen, considering as the locust queen was once human.
Of all the depressing ironies this series' story is full of, immulsion being sentient the whole time would be the icing on the cake. Really novel and plausible theory!
Love these videos man! This stuff just amazes me in all honesty
This dude covered this perfect and clear
Damn, why didn't I ever think of that? The Immulsion was defending itself. If the humans had left well the fuck alone, none of this would've ever happened.

Exactly what my morning needed!
Yeah ! Thanks Roanoke
Sweet video. Thank you.
Imulsion could very well be a form of Slime Mold. Slime Molds are eukaryotic organisms exist out in nature, spreading and covering surfaces like rock, plants and wood. Normally they’re not harmful, though they kinda look like vomit. They eat away at decaying matter and mulch and are helpful in cleaning up a forest environment
Imulsion could be a form of that, but it’s highly volatile and mutagenic. When it comes into contact with other types of organisms, it has the potential to damage DNA. Perhaps Lambent Stalks are actually plant life that the Imulsion has come into contact with, akin to roots on a tree?
Maybe it could a radioactive substance too and prolonged exposure to the radiation it gives off can affect the health of any organisms near it. Ionizing radiation damages cells, hence why people exposed to dangerous amounts of it slowly rot from within, and people who aren’t exposed to as much radiation are prone to develop cancer. Imulsion could potentially cause this as well. (FYI: I saw HBO’s Chernobyl in case you were wondering about all that radiation talk 😂)
This is literally everything I needed to know about Gears of War 1-3
I'd love to hear more about the Swarm and how they came to be come Gears 5
You feeling okay Roanoake? Voice sounds a bit deeper than usual, great content as always!
Oh man. I didn't know you got engaged! I only just joined the Discord. Congrats bro!
As always, great video! It never occured to me that the Locust were pre-mutated humans, even though it was painfully obvious from the video in the second game.
(SPOILERS)
Your statement about the stalks being a form of reproduction is spot on as well. In the book 'Coalition's End', 2 dogs disappear and end up infected by the Imulsion. Not even a day later, Bernie, Anya, Sam and someone else (I think) end up fighting a dozen Lambent dogs that popped out of the pods on a stalk. So yes, the stalks reproduce like rabbits.
And speaking of highly contagious, a farmer's prized bull disappears from his land and wanders to an area where Imulsion is found shortly after. The bull, only being in contact to the Imulsion for a couple days, goes full Lambent and explodes like your average Gunker.
Alex.
What if the reason so much is pooled underground is because the imulsion had previously consumed the overworld
the REAL villain of Gears of War
Jesus Christ this thing is scary like seriously like the fungus out of hell keep up the good work bro
can you plz do a video of the locust crystals and the wind flairs
Imulsion: if you destroy me I will become more powerful than you can even imagine
Seran: oh shit
Locust: oh shit
I agree with the illmusion theory. And I think the wind flare are not a natural occurence. I thought a maelstrom (the machine that caused hurricane around azura) or something similar malfunction or perhaps being taken over, could be the cause. I mean they had a machine that manipulated the weather namely by causing violent winds and are now strong wind storms are popping up all over the area. Just a thought.
¿So the Emulsion it's like the Yellow slime mold? makes it even creepier that have some kind of intelligence.
I'm pretty sure the Sires are the original children of the Imulsion miners, and the Locust was created by splicing Human DNA (mainly Myrrahs DNA and stem cells) with the DNA of the Sires.
Gears of War has some of the best lore in gamimg imo
Nice video
Awesome video and theory! I was wondering if you'd ever do a Unitology lore video
Sera is the organism. And the emulsion is its immune system
6:38 so are you saying these mushrooms have s*x by killing anything and everything? Can you give me a "Good Luck" for getting that out of my mind?
Damn good video
I'd say more that imulsion is more of a plant not particularly fungi but plant based,or and this is something to keep in mind a full on parasite that evolved orginally from a plant or fungi but I cant fully agree its fungal infection as the heads each if your attacked by them actually look like flower heads.
So I want to add on that I'm not looking at it by just how its bulged head is but also to which it spreads, its like a tree planting its roots but theres the fact that in GOW the only race or well species that not only had come to contact with it but evolved around it suggests maybe at one point the imulsion was what youd consider the gene pool as I mean it rewrites everything in the body from organs to other things while others can say its adaption I'd say its evolution I mean hell it was even stated In gow 3 how it jumps from species to species like the locusts and serans,so who knows but I will say it becomes more obvious how the locust that of which are later called the swarm (which if you dont knoe there actually was added on lore i think you either overlooked Roanoke or didnt find worth mentioning until a later video) BUT the swarm ARE locusts who were cacooned with imulsion in their bodies changing them further into a more evolved threat one that can also convert humans into swarm using the very same process that youd see is comparable to the imulsion as well as the swarms love of renovating a place and meaty tendrils but yeah to make a long story short basically I feel the imulsion they refined because it was refined and if you think about it as you said intelligent then the biggest thing I would say one could think about it,is even though imulsion unrefined was useless, what could it have done if tested differently and even used differently because as you said and what I'm adding to it imulsion has been around long enough to jump to multiple species on the game and even infected humans so in my opinion it's like a tree, burying roots in everything until nothing but le tree is left. Or like I said if used differently may result in things LIKE the locusts so there are alot of things I could add even to just that but for the most part I did via with the swarm.
Thanks for this video it helped me understand the yellow stuff in gears of war series

What if the necromorphs and the flood swapped over
Like for example one universe is fight the flood and the other was fighting the necros and all of a sudden they swapped over
Who would win
Necromorphs don't have the intellectual capacity to threaten entire galaxies. They can't organize nearly as well as the Flood, they can't repurpose vehicles and weapons, they're entirely dependant on the population size of their local infection. Flood have been documented jumping systems to find more bodies to infect, they have innate Precursor knowledge, and can expand far more rapidly. If Issac Clark and EarthGov suddenly found a hyper intelligent parasite that grew smarter with each new infection, they'd be completely doomed. The UNSC, Swords of Sanghellios, Banished, etc would mop the floor with the Necromorphs, even though they would up a good fight. Necromorphs simply aren't as capable as the Flood.
