Ayyy sweet. Thought for sure you would chase it all the way to Brooksville. 😤 Clearwater Sub used to have DTC block signs but they ripped them all down several years back.
Thanks bro, yeah I would’ve wanted to, but I had things to do, and morning light for a northbound up there is awful. Maybe in summer I’ll do a chase up there.
I'm starting to see why the CSX EMD ET23DCMs(SD23T4s) are getting popular to CSX railfans up north...they look interesting even when leading trains in this case and nice shots and chase😊!
So I’ve learned, five men with last names starting with A - Five-A. If I ever get around to making a documentary on the line, I’ll make sure to include that!
Great to see! Nice seeing a passenger car on those tracks again. I used to live in Lutz about 30 years ago, there used to be a lot more action in those days. I also imagine the days when it was SAL all the way up through Inverness, Dunnellon, Archer, Gainesville and Waldo. Long gone now. One small thing: Fivay came into existence when five businessman got together and their last names all started in A, so they decided to call it Fivay Junction. Crazy but true. It's simply pronounced "Five-A". 🙂
Thanks for watching! I totally forgot about the origins of Fivay, I have a history book that has that same tale written within. What did the line used to see way back then in Lutz?
Greetings, it would be nice if you could catch the local action at cemex plant in Brooksville. And also a complete segment of the juice docks at Tropicana getting switched. And the action at the north end of Tropicana switching Pro Build lumber yard in Bradenton. That will be a difficult task the lumber yard that is.
@@greggporter5494 Thanks for the recommendations! I’d love to see more action around Brooksville, but it’s hard to catch it especially when it’s in the middle of the night
As always, great quality despite less than ideal weather. PS I'm hoping that conductor ( at 9:01) is waving to you and not giving you a less than friendly "salute". That would be a whole lot less than cool from a professional.
Thanks for another informative video Christian. It’s odd to me that CSX ran their own, crewed track geometry train on this Sub. Unless I’m mistaken don’t they have to back-track to Tampa? I think it makes more sense to use a private contractor such as Sperry Rail Services to measure these dead-end branch lines.
They ran around the train at the Cemex in plant in Brooksville, with the 1713 leading once more. I don't think Sperry has ever come up this way, but the day they do, I'll be for it :)

Great work, nice catch and a heckuva nice pacing shot at 9:00.
Thanks again Danny, I’m reading this while watching one of your older videos. Glad you enjoyed!

Thank you! I agree they’re very cool, but the crews will not agree lol
The railroader used to say FIVE-A, like Five-O.

That finally shot looks awesome. Also great video 👍
Thanks a lot brother

The crossing at SR 52 was called Gowers Corner for a long time.
Thanks for the info! Was there any customers there or something? The name sounds very familiar
Nice catch. I'll trade you some SCL story's for some BBQ 👍. Fivay is pronounced "Five A" named after the 5 A brothers.
I’d love to hear them! You can reach out to me at ashetone22@gmail.com

Actually the crew was sharing a bag of trail mix, so I caught them mid snack lol. Thanks for watching!

I want to go see it, but I was two minutes late😢
Happened to me three years ago lmao
Is there a set time trains usually run on this line? I rarely see them on it.
Sun, Tues, Thurs. That’s about it
I don’t think 1713 came to Clearwater
It was 1713, it came on I believe a Thursday night and returned Friday following 791
