I think that Fishermen in general should have +1 range with fishing. Maybe that will fix the problem of Fishermen not automatically continue collecting fish.
I've always wondered if the person on the receiving end of the douche should only put 2-3 villagers in their TC to fight back. Essentially just keep enough vills in the TC to force the Persian player to use at least one repair vil and to prevent the Persian player from rushing the defending TC with vils. You're going to lose the arrow war with the Persians TC anyways, so putting extra damage on the Persian TC gains the defender nothing. Why not put those extra 7-8 villagers back on resources while the Persian player idles 10-11 vills?
My favourite moment is just after 13:00 --- JonSlow stops vill-fighting, and instead taunts wood-starved Tom_a_Jerry, by having his villagers flash all the wood they are carrying. "If you've got it, flaunt it!"

seeing those farms on the hillside like that, and knowing that aoe has added terrain interact with buildings, makes me wonder.. would't it be cool if a civ like vietnamese or chinese get a bonus for food production if they build farms on a hillside, because rice paddies are adapted to hillside farming? it would make maps like these much nicer for these civs, like a water rich map is good for some other civs. i guess the effect would be minimal and not change much, but it would allow for some strange base design where hills grant another bonus than just increased damage.
I didn't think this map was too bad until I saw this video. It really highlights everything that makes it so rough. But yeah, T90, you're primarily a streamer

If TC drop becomes a ubiquitous strategy on this map, sooner or later two people are going to accidentally switch positions by having one person drop while the other person is on their way over, then the other person responding by deleting their TC and moving to the other person's old location. I want to see that game.

I hate and love alpine lakes. I hate it for the reasons mentioned (especially the villagers bugging out when shore fishing), but I love it because it plays so differently than standard maps. I wish pros wouldn’t be so stubborn/resistant to different maps, but I guess I understand why they might not like this one I feel like with all the hills you should be able to re-TC in a position where it would be fairly easy to block your opponent from re-douching you. Not that responding properly to a douche is ever really all that easy, I probably would have just gg 11
