- I've had the opportunity to play quite a few high level AoE2 players on the new game recently, and it has been a treat! Knew this one needed to go to RUclips! I am very thankful for the relationships I have with the pro scene of this community and how down to earth everyone is. This is my first "day of christmas" upload leading up til Christmas. Expect a lot of variety and thought in the uploads over the holidays, really working hard on this!

Elariv N Probably on the low level that kind of behaviour is prevalent in almost any game. In the AoE pro scene however everyone knows each other so it would harm you way more to be known as a toxic player. Also a more chill mindset and a calm reaction to losing games probably helps a lot when it comes to mastering a RTS game.
*SPOILERS*
I counted 10 mangonels killed by you, 4 by Hoang. You got 6 with your own, 2 with the castle and 2 with your starting TC. Hoang killed 3 with knights and 1 either with knights or his own mangonel.

I really watched the whole video expecting it to be an appreciation video for Hoang and you really beat him. Some of those mango trades were so clutch, and the plume movement truly out foxed him, incredible.

I'm thankful for the high quality content T90 blesses us with on a regular basis. All these "Legend of" videos but we all know the real legend is T90 (aside from fatslob of course)

I dont even play AOE2 but follow it due to the behavior of the Environment Tbh many other popular games such as Dota2 or CSGO the community is toxic enough to make you leave the game you love the most! Keep Sharing Love the content

Congrats!! Been watching your content for a while, and I can almost beat the HD hard AI on tiny map (yay). The AI is the Hoang of my AOE2. really apreciate all the tips, though learning builds is a cruel grind of restarts.
I feel like using houses as resource drop-off points would be a dope civ bonus. You'd still need TCs, camps, and mills for creating villagers and researching eco techs, but you'd only really need one mill and one of each camp. Since you'd be building houses in the place of camps, you wouldn't get housed as often, either.
One thing I am thankful for... Your legit content and your ability to bring an old (and some new) community together and create something wonderful.

Great deer snipe. I was thinking this on other games you casted and am glad to finally see it. Considering the potential value, I don't know why I don't see it more often because it's virtually zero investment to deny a bunch of food. Could work on sheep too (if you don't think you can get away with theft). Great stuff man.
Personally I liked the sentimental intro 😄 I think I've watched aoe games for years now bc of the great community. I hardly ever actually play myself.

There is nothing better than watching AoE2: DE during the holiday seasons.
Higher level players in any game are often less toxic. I've already had plenty of games, getting into AoE2 where I'm told that I'm useless, not doing anything, accused of being afk because I'm not playing well, told to go to other modes, so on and so forth. Every game has toxic players, AoE2 is no exception.

Everyone: For a fast castle, you want a slower feudal so as to have more economy early on and jump right into castle afterward.

Here more than most places I’m a bit confused as to why anyone would’ve disliked the vid. Like how would anyone that’s gonna dislike this video even end up on this channel or type of content. Because if you’re looking for something even aoe related I’m finding it very difficult to complain about any facet of t90’s content as a whole
I always imagine a couple of people roaming around the internet disliking videos without watching them :D Or maybe youtube does it, so it feels more natural :P

Spoiler alert. I think your biggest mistake was to make a castle to defend. You should have made more military to counter his units instead. No matter where you place it, one castle is never enough to secure your enconomy. But that just makes your win even more impressive.
Only reason Hoang lost is because he didn't go Huns
In regards to playerbase toxicity, I think it's because of a few things:
in general (doesnt always apply) but there are a few key traits that can bring toxicity:
1. PVP
2. Age of playerbase (the younger the playerbase, the more likely it can become toxic)
3. Difficulty to start the game/Game visibility to the public/Ease to matchmake into a game(the more advertised it is, it attracts more bad folk due to popularity/publicity)
4. Whether something is Free to Play or not(partially tied to #2)
Age only has 1 that increases toxicity in my opinon, which is a minor one given that that's the nature of RTS games in general. Because of the age of the community (many of whom are older because many grew up with the original AOE2) makes for a very mature community on average which doesn't spew toxicity as often. Since the game is only lightly advertised (only at game events mostly to people who'd watch microsoft content only), this game doesn't have as big of a novice community as other games, notably F2P games do. Being F2P also creates a large community, but pushes the average age of the community younger as it's usually the younger generation who plays F2P games (due to not having income to buy games) and F2P games generally are performance friendly.
