    I am the Carole in the story - I am 10 years in remission next month (December 2023) I didn't realise there were so many comments here. Good luck to everyone out there who is having chemo, there is light at the end of the tunnel xx

      We're so pleased to hear from you Carole, and to hear you have been in remission for 10 years, coming up next month, as you say there is light at the end of the tunnel, and how amazing to share this with others, thank you. All the very best of wishes to you Carole, and as you say, to all having their treatment.

      Carole, I was wondering how you are doing, now, and you answered my question without knowing it! I have just completed six rounds of chemo for DLBCL like you. My oncologist has referred me to a radiation doctor who will contact me shortly. My PET scan result was great 👍 Thank you for posting about your 10 remission! That gives all us cancer survivors hope ❤. It's so wonderful to know that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't the light of an approaching train!

      Thanks for your comment Davina - I wish you a speedy recovery and don’t do too much too early. It took me a good year or so to feel ‘normal’ again.
      Congratulations on finishing that chemo and good luck with the remission. Carole

    I Have been diagnosed. Start treatment tomorrow. I've never been so scared in my life. My wife and doctor are very hopeful about the result. I am 59 and have never missed a day of work for illness in my life. My employer has a history of treating sick people like they need to go away. My best friend worked with me for 15 years and when he went home sick with cancer. They made things so hard for him. They terminated his employment two days before he died. His family was devastated by the funeral costs. My wife and I paid for it and now two years later they are loosing their home. So scared. Please pray for my wife.

    I’d love to know the likely 2- ~ 5-year prognosis for mantle cell lymphoma, ‘intermediate stage’, for any female age 80 receiving five rounds of chemotherapy . . .

    • @LymphomaAction
      @LymphomaAction  Год назад

      Hello, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately it's diffult for us to comment on prognosis, and the medical team are best placed to advise on somone's indidvudual situation, based on the knowledge they have about a person, their lymphoma and the test results they have. We have some information on our website about mantle cell lymphoma, with a section about outlook, and also mentions survival statistics, and what they can and can't tell you. If you feel this may be helpful to read to can find it here: lymphoma-action.org.uk/types-lymphoma-non-hodgkin-lymphoma/mantle-cell-lymphoma We send our best wishes to you,

      I was sorry to learn about your Father's diagnosis, and can appreciate this is likely a difficult time. We cannot give medical advice, and suggest talking further with the doctor about your concerns. Our information on Diffuse large B cell lymphoma is here: lymphoma-action.org.uk/types-lymphoma-non-hodgkin-lymphoma/diffuse-large-b-cell-lymphoma and our information on side effects of treatment (which includes details on infection) is here: lymphoma-action.org.uk/index.php/about-lymphoma/side-effects-lymphoma-treatment we hope these will be helpful, and hope you will feel able to speak with the doctor soon. We send our best wishes to you, and to your father.

      How is you father doing?
      And did they test his DLBC if it was GCB or ABC type? Cause that makes a difference in the the outcome.
      GCB has a good cure rate, ABC not as good and they need more studies on it. Also is antibiotics will not work alone. He needs things like menbenzole and an anti viral along with lots of other stuff. Read Janes McLleands How to Starve Cancer. I hope he is still fighting. And get him tested for Epstein Barr Virus
