Plus I’m constantly using the info to upgrade how I dress, such as only wearing dress shoes and a button up shirt anytime I leave the house. Thank you!

      @@BullyBoxer that‘s me + i have a pretty standard body and feet, so i don‘t need bespoke clothing that much. I fit in most 48 regular fit suits very well after hemming the sleeves and with shoes I have a quite normal instep and normal width. Of course bespoke would probably be 5% better in very fine details but to me that‘s not worth spending that much more + i‘d be really paranoid about such expensive clothing to be ruined

    47 years and ongoing. I wonder how many shirts Stephen's done in that time, must be thousands by now. It looks like Terry has taken over John's old cutting board and Sayumba has moved over to Terry's. I've got some made to measure shirts but I'd love to do some proper bespoke at some stage. Another great series on the go here.

      I think it's a cultural thing also. I travel often to Taiwan with my family and I notice that people there definitely separate inside clothes from outside clothes. They at least put some effort into looking nicer even if they don't dress in the classic style. I think it's impossible to expect the majority of people to do that anymore, but at least to realize that at-home clothes, and exercise clothes have their place and purpose and should be worn outside for normal use.

    Today it made me wearing my only bespoke shirt I have (by Luigi Borrelli) again after a year or so.

    I have a short neck, and all my dress shirts' collars touch the bottom of my hairline. I've always wondered what a bespoke shirtmaker would do about that. I guess that's the one thing that I would want to have made bespoke is a dress shirt that doesn't make my neck look short. 😆

    You know Kirby, if you want to get another bespoke shirt. I'd go for a button-down collar, fitted linen shirt. Potentially in stripey pattern, or plain pattern. Would work really well for the summer in a navy suit or on its own. I say this because I am finding it virtually impossible to get a shirt that meets this criteria. A lot of them are soft collared or oversized which I really don't like.

    • @danbee415
      @danbee415 Год назад +1

      Apprenticeship. There is a savile row school which costs 20k for non uk citizens, then theres sewing courses around the UK. Tailoring is either going to be a self taught thing, or something you learn of your parents. luckily you hace the internet at your hands.
      I have considered tailoring and still do, a little put off by jackets and coats, theyre so hard to make.
