    Your drills have help me go from a high 80's player to a low 80's player in the past 4 months. I feel like I'm on the verge of breaking 80 soon. By far the best instruction on the web.

    Another excellent video, Jonathan. This is the holy grail of the golf swing, as it’s the downswing that is fundamental to hitting good shots. The backswing is all about getting into the right position before the downswing. As you said, it’s all happening so fast you can’t consciously control it, and under pressure (and mostly on the golf course) you revert to your ‘old’ habits and hit a bad shot, you know why you did, but it’s correcting the mistake that’s really hard. So it’s off to do 1800 repetitions for me, another fan from NZ.

    Thanks! This is easier to do than turning into a blocked left slide shown by previous videos. But less powerful since we can turn shoulders faster than hips. Seeing different ways is helpful though. Hope I didn’t miss the point here :)

    Just started winter in NZ so I will have lots of exercise time, your drills are exceptional and i am hitting 10 to 30 meters further in a few days of study and practice, The separation of upper and lower body and the speed of the shoulder turn is correcting a major flaw in my swing. So glad I found your site,

    I think one if the best golfers who exemplifies this motion and footwork is George Knudson. I could watch his swing forever.

    Jonathan the only thing that scares me after watching you videos is that I think I am starting to understand them. :) Been practicing my swing particularly the hip move or bump from the top and feeling like I am starting to make that part of my natural move to create more speed. Love this drill. I get right leg strong and catch myself chasing after the shot ala Gary Player. This drill will help and have my first 50 practice swings done already on my way to 1800 or 2000. . .

    Johnathan I have a question. Is there no slide forward with my lead hip to get back over the ball? I think I'm missing something. Thanks!

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  4 года назад +1

      Yes, but it is not as big as you may have thought. If you were to draw a line up from the out side of your lead heel, that is the boundary of the hip movement towards the target.

    Where does the number 1,800 come from for the drill repetition? Or were you just using hyperbole?

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  4 года назад

      No, it is an actual science based number of repetitions required to build the synapse which steer/control the movement.

    [memo] 백스윙의 top 이란 것은 ; 상체가 더 이상 rotate 하지 못 하고 회전을 멈춘 곳을 가리킨다 (위치상 가장 높은 곳을 가리키는 것이 아님)
    다시 말하면, 우리 몸이 방향을 바꾸는 곳을 말하는 것이다. 방향을 바꾸려면 몸이 준비가 되어 있어야 하고... 엉덩이가 rotate를 시작할 수 있어야 한다.
    스윙의 top에서, 몸통회전이 끝나는 곳에서는 sitting 자세가 되어야 한다. 높고 둥근 술집의자 (barstool)에 앉을 준비가 되어 있어야 한다.
    엉덩이 뒤쪽에 barstool이 있다고 생각하고, 다운스윙을 시작하면서는, 백스윙 때 앞으로 나왔던 왼쪽엉덩이는 제자리로 되돌아 간다.
    우측다리는 타겟반대쪽으로 밀고, 왼쪽다리는 타겟쪽으로 press 하여, 그 결과로 몸통이 rotate하게 한다.
    좌 우 엉덩이볼기짝이 나란하게 균형을 취해서 앉는 것처럼 한다.
    이렇게 하면 머리가 일어설 것같지만, 엉덩이를 뒤쪽으로 밀어내기 때문에 머리가 일어서지는 않는다 ( hips 이 앞쪽으고 tilting 됨).
    우리몸의 척추는 여러 층으로 고여있기 때문에 직선이 아니고 굽을 수 있는데... 내 등을 활(bow)처럼 둥근 모양으로 굽게 만들어야 한다.
    - 안쪽으로 팔을 당기면, 자연스레 release가 만들어 진다. 아무런 생각없이 그냥 볼을 치면 된다. 총체적으로 직관적인 스윙을 한다.

    Could you make this a little more complicated. There are only 35 things you need to do at the same time to do it right. Please elaborate,

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  5 лет назад +1

      If it wasn’t complicated you wouldn’t have to watch youtube videos to explain it🤣
