    I promised an update on what I thought after watching the video back. Not reading any comments before I type this! I actually liked it! When I was looking in my tiny mirror across my desk, I wasn't sure (and it was different from what I do, so that's always jarring). But as I went through editing and stared at my face for a couple of hours, I noticed that my eyes were definitely drawn to the Wayne side more than the other. I'm not sure I'm ready to completely give up using multiple shades and shimmers (because it would really make most of my eyeshadow inventory obsolete), but I will definitely be trying to incorporate this more. Thanks Wayne!

      @@deniseclarkart Interesting. And I can see your point. I guess I was referring to his claim that it helps your eyes be the focus of your face. I guess I need to decide if I notice the EYE more, or if I was being drawn to the shadow itself.

    I like Wayne's technique for quickness but I love your technique better because it's brighter! I think the reason your eyes were drawn to Wayne's side is because of the copper gold against your blue eyes! Both are beautiful, but I still love your technique the best! 💗 I loved this video Tina!!! 😘🥰

      Thank you so much! And yes, if you have blue eyes, copper, coral, orange tones are going to make them look bluer (color theory is pretty cool stuff!). I want to try it with a less intense lid color, and do a mash up of my technique and his to see how that comes out.

    I think Wayne's way looks better. The lighter shimmer in the inside "corner pocket" makes your eye look puffy. But it's nice to see the many possibilities in the palette you chose. Thanks for the video!

    Great video! That's cute he called it life-changing, but perhaps it just means that this technique would change the make up routine and make it much faster and easier. Plus if your eyes stand out then people will notice them and look at them more. Who knows maybe that would be a big change for people in their daily life?😊

    • @TinaHBeautifulJourney

      Well, we do have to be slightly hyperbolic in our titles to draw people in, so there's that too. LOL But also, for someone who wants to delve into eyeshadow but is put off by the complicated looks and techniques here on YT (even on my channel sometimes), having this easier way might make them feel confident enough to try it out.
      And there is still a time and place for more intricate looks as well. So it's not like you have to pick one or the other.

  • @judybuehner99

    I see a window shade effect with his technique. Meaning when you blink I see color and not so much when eye is open. You're reg way of doing is a bit better because I don't see the on/off look when you blink. The color seems more of a blend and not such a stark difference. I do like however, the shadow not going out over the corner as it tends to turn down the corner of your eye. A trick I have been doing on these more mature eyes is...take the shadow up at the end of the eye, up toward the brow, straight up the end of the eye. Not to the brow of course, not higher than the same as above tbe crease. It still blends but lifts the corner.. just a tip..Love you my sweet girl. MOM❤❤❤❤

      Ps also. Try a matte white or whatever color u use in the inside corner... instead of a shimmer and see how that works. Softer but still very effective. You arr beautiful no matter what you do. So very proud of you. Pss. For dark circles and eye corners, Mary Kay's makeup artist Beau Wilson, from years gone by, taught us to mix a dot of red cream rouge with our white cream highlighter to make "a HINT of pink" and apply there. Magic! No dark circles and it blurs the creases.

  • @scotzmnswife
    @scotzmnswife 3 месяца назад +1

    I personally like the side that you did in your typical manner a little more because something about it makes it appear more polished & complete. For myself, I found that creating a faux crease by higher placement opens up my eye visually more compared to how I used to do my makeup (which is actually very similar to Wayne’s way). As I aged & my deepset eyes started becoming more hooded, I had to change my technique because the old way just wasn’t working (it looked like a blob of shadow with liner on my eyes). While your right eye was easier application, I think your left eye with your typical technique just appears more open. My wee two cents! 😄 I loved this video idea & the real-life comparisons. I think it goes to show that individual anatomy plays such a huge role in what techniques work best for each of us, & there’s no “one size fits all.” 😉👍❤

    • @TinaHBeautifulJourney
      @TinaHBeautifulJourney  3 месяца назад +1

      Absolutely! I can't tell you how many times I tried a technique I saw on YT and it just wouldn't look good. It wasn't my ability, it was just my anatomy. I look terrible in a cut crease. My rounded eyes go positively buggy with it. I'm going to try a hybrid and see if I can tweak my process a bit to move away from the bright shimmer inner corner a bit.

    On a side note this video is excellent and the hard work you've put into improving is very noticeable. I enjoyed the content, the intro and outro were succinct and well communicated. The thumbnail and title were amusing and eye catching. This video made me want to try this technique but I know that I already have. It doesn't work for me because I have deep set eyes with hooded lids and a low brow. When I'm in a hurry I do use 2 shadows though, a midtone matte in the crease but I use only a very pale or bright shimmer all over the lid. For your eyes I like aspects of his technique and actually I like his innercorner better believe it or not. I prefer how you did your crease and transition, but I like his outer corner better. I like your lighter shimmer on the lid but not in your intercorner. I am not sure if it's just the camera angle though

    • @TinaHBeautifulJourney
      @TinaHBeautifulJourney  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for your detailed comments! I think I want to try it with my transition and crease technique, but bringing that crease color all over the lid to the inner corner. And then use the mid-tone shimmer also all over the lid, with a lighter shimmer just in the center. I think a slighter lighter shade in the inner corner might be a compromise between the light shimmer and the darkness of what would usually be an outer corner color for me. It's definitely got me wanting to try something new!
