Those mannequins are actually real people standing very still in costumes, at least some are real and some are not. The amount of discontinuity in Eyes Wide Shut and the shining points to a very blatant approach from kubrick. These are far from mistakes, but moreso a painstaking effort to tell a deeply intricate story shrouded in mystery. Your analysis only scratches the surface, in fact every video I’ve ever seen on EWS fails to uncover the depth of the underlying story. This was the longest film production in history for a reason. It was his lifelong sought after masterpiece that he finished cutting literally the day he died. The amount of information and relevant subject matter buried underneath the surface plot remains illusive.

Another error is the names of the musicians in the photo marquee out front are wrong. I think it was Kip Fleming switched with Bobby Brown, but listen to Nick’s introduction, then look at the photos outside.

The reason is last minute editing, the movie was telling a little too much about some groups, they made kubrick change the whole thing, that's why this movie is full of dumb mistakes, it's not because is a dreamy story, the scenes are very out of time, that's impossible for Kubrick, he died or he was killed while the movie was being edited, Kubrick edited all his movies, he cut his own films, maybe he was telling us, THIS IS NOT ME.

Eyes Wide Shut adapted from the original novel Dream Story by Arthur Schnitzler. And Schnitzler was known to be a friend of Freud. Kubrick used the same technique in The Shining, did he receive death threats then?

I always thought Inception could be like a sequel to this film in a way due to some similarities; with Bill as Dom Cobb, Alice as Mal and their daughter Helena reflecting James and Philipa. I mean at the end of the film both Bill & Alice still look like their eyes are wide shut in a dream, your practically looking for that spinning top knowing that it’ll never fall over...........
