Just a random thought; when I was a kid watching season 3 of the OG cartoon, I found Runamuck and Runabout rather strange but wasn't sure why. Thinking back now, it's because the story was set in a futuristic alternate timeline where there was space travel, hover cars, aliens, and robotic dinosaurs that turned into cities; yet there were these two random Decepticons who transformed into the most generic-looking cars that looked like late-1970s (or early-1980s) models of their respective makes. I like the edgy cyberpunk mob boss car description. I really put things into perspective for me.
Edgy? I didn't think it was Edgy, I just though it was the kind of car Tony Montana would drive.
And what is this new perspective, how does the Edgy Mob Boss Cars fit in with the future space cars?

I know that they're obscure characters, but I really like Runabout and Runamuck. I would love for future iterations of transformation to focus on more obscure characters.
I mean IDW did that for a ton of characters, and Runabout/Amuck were in there for a bit, but they died early on.
I absolutely love Runamuck and Runabout so getting mainline versions of them really made me happy.

I'm liking Runamuck. Don't mind a lot of the issues, at least there's no useless cheating partsforming, but that hinge to fold the back really stresses me
Believe me I'm happy to see the partsforming be gone, This would make a Much better Cliffjumper, and yeah that back hing in insane, why is it SOOOO damn hard to move. If something is going to break all it's clear plastic, it's that hing.

That alt mode gives me some major rolls Royce vibes, and I’m all for that
But like Retro Royce, that doesn't look anything like a modern car, and the gold trim makes it look pimped out. It's definitely got a unique look that makes it stand out.
Really liked this figure, I also got runabout because I wanted to complete the duo and could not be happier about them
It's absolutely one of the best ones from the line, I don't know that I need runabout, but I am interested in him to say the least.
It's shocking that they didn't recolor this mold into the 2 generic ground soldiers from Devastation. Same with Devastation not recoloring them into Runamuck/Runabout for a challenge mission or something for the story.
Yeah it would have worked great as those, Also could have worked as Devastation Bumblebee a bit.

You can do that with Sunstreaker too, and you can pop out one of his hands and use the peg hole to actually make him a combiner leg.

I'm so happy that we finaly got him. I've been trying to get my hands on the Club exclusive for years, even going as far as making my own custom out of the cw dead end mold.
That's some dedication to a character who basically doesn't exist. If someone told me he only ever appeared in 20 comic panels total across all publishers, I'd believe it.

Earthrise Runamuck is cool. Like how the heel wheels are a cool reference to his G1 toy. And yeah, this mold, with some retooling, to be used for Cliffjumper, could have been awesome.

I've been trying to look all over for this wave. I've had no luck so i decided to order Runabout.
Same figure so an adequate replacement. I had to get mine on Amazon.
I can’t with car bots because clear plastic terrifies me because it gives me ptsd flashbacks to my animated swindle which has all of his major connections made out of clear plastic and is currently sitting under by bed in shambles
I have heard a subscriber complain about that, mine doesn't seem to have problems but who knows with Earthrise.
I won't say this is a figure anyone Needs.
As someone who was super optimistic about earthrise i do have to say, with all The qc and all The sucky wave 2 figures, i Will still Look at this line fondly. It gave me The perfect optimus and (very unpopular opinion) perfect ironhide. Theres so much Bad in this line but most of The earthrise figures that i love have no better competition.
Maybe you should just call them your favorites, I mean are they really perfect, or are they perfect to you? Big diff.

Too bad that a lot of main characters (ratchet, ironhide, seekers) are either exclusives or part of a two figure pack for absolutely no reason at all. So they are basically inaccessible for buyers outside of 1st world countries and just harder to get for 1st world people

It's a crime, if people want them they should have access, not only the most lucky of the lucky.
funnily enough the idw comics did actually acknowledge fake kibble, with in one setting it being commonplace for the characters to have it stapled on to increase their looks, such as cockpits and microscopes

I mean those all sound very plausible, but I like to do these when pictures are available so people don't have to stare at my logo for too long.
Also those could be spot on or they could be made up, and I don't want to get anyone excited for something that may or may not be happening.

I've seen leaks that there's gonna be devastation decepticon soldiers
And i feel like this mold will be the thing they use to make them because the soldiers have the exact same look as him.
Honestly it's not a bad idea... though if they're gonna be making the devastation soldiers then i have a bad feeling they might make the seekers too and probably use the ER starscream mold again... so yeah. That'll definitely suck

I got runamuck and he's amazing, I made a stop motion with him and he doesn't fall over like many others
He does have more substantial heels than is normal, he can hold him self up quite well on those size 19s.
I've been picking up some of the earthrise repacks recently and they fix some of the wave one qc issues. A new prime I found clipped in all the way on the cab, was flush from chest to abs. And had silver paint inside the head instead of just blue
That all sounds better than the mess I have.
Man this mold would have been a great Wheeljack. Slight retooling to make the rear of the car sit back more on the robot mode, fake chest would allow the chest to clear the waist swivel, doors on the back of the arms look like the panels on the back of Wheeljack's, and the legs work as they should.
I feel like really what needed to happen was just that they needed to clean up the actual Wheeljack figure. Redesign that so it's not so off, and it would have worked out great.

this is my favourite character of wave 3 honestly, though i dont have sunstreaker yet so i'll see if my opinion will change.

I can see this guy being turned into tracks with the upper half remaing mostly the same but with a different head, and the lower half doing a siege sideswipe but this time its the front of the car
That works too, he does have the bumper roof, this could be a very versatile mold.

I find it way too funny that you go from rocket manning him into Cliffjumper to talking about how the clear plastic on the backpack worries you in less than 20 seconds.
Clear plastic doesn't tend to break from impact, but from the joints failing at the in so it just falls off.

Got this figure and the runabout figure and only issue is the back of the car on this doesnt tab onto anything in vehicle mode instead it tries to hold onto thr shoulders with the wheels and due to how the shoulders are rounded off they slip way way too much

Yeah I don't know why so many people are giving that Cliffjumper a pass, I think it's literally just that they like the fact that it's not coming as a bumblebee first.

1. I wore my mask not on my nose because I couldn't breathe with it on my nose.
2. Those wheels on the back of his feet are cartoon accurate aswell.

Personally I don't try to nose breathe while wearing a mask, I go full mouth breather.
I do get that, it's just silly to have the fake wheels I think.

I actually bought 3 of these and repainted 2 of them into both Bumblebee and cliffjumper but when I tried to do the headswap I found out the balljoint was too big so I might sand it down in the future
Nice. I'd say widen the hole rather than sanding the ball. The odds of the ball snapping off are quite high.
The only figures I like love those background characters.
I love em all, background characters fore ground characters, they all have a place in my heart.
Yep the Cliffjumper edit looks good. And a fake chest? Bruh moment. I don't like fake parts either, Optimus's grill abs not counting because it'd look kinda funny if it was the same grill in alt mode. As long as his window pecs are the same piece, no skin off my nose. I was just worried Kingdom might have faux parts and thankfully so far from people who somehow have them already there's none of that.
Yeah this would have been perfect for Cliff, and I don't get the fake Chest. I think the grill doesn't need to Fauxform, but I get the Siege one, because that would have to change material, but the normal one's shapes aren't too different.
I find it funny that as time passed on, you went from disliking the line to liking it while the earthrise supporters went from liking to disliking.
I was going to point out something similar in my retrospective, and I'd say me liking is a strong word.
My feelings towards it have softened, while everyone else has hardened.

I think it looks like a BMW Sedan from the 80s something classy and expensive but not with all that much under the hood.
Just got this guy along with Kingdom Airazor and I gotta say, they're both good. Airazor just outshadows Runamuck by a lot. Oh, forgot about Caliburst.

Yeah. Runamuck does use his gun mode as crazily and wildly as possible, cause that's his character.

@@PerspectiveEnd I am like jobby. I dont think a figure should be covered in paint, because it easily chips. I mean jesus christ that thing is going to look like it has GPS in a few years. Paint is really nice for small details, like the head, but that's something that your not handling as heavily

Here's the thing about Fasttrack, I think his robot mode is ugly, I think his altmode is uglier, and I don't care for any of the Weaponizing he does, so he's just got nothing going for him.

the wave 2 and 3 qc problems might be due to covid making it harder to get testers which just means they got someone who isn't qualified and they just said " eh it'll do" and hasbro sold it
also faux parts are to appeal to everyone who says the cartoon is the only thing people should care about even though i think having real parts of the car that look like the car parts make them look better
Maybe to the first part, but for the second part I think even among the people who feel that way there's a strong contingent of people who don't like faux parts.

I got mine on Amazon. And yeah I had to special order every last Wave three figure I wanted cause the only one I've ever seen in stores was Fasttrack.
Guess the quality that could be found in earthrise decided to runaway to wave 3.

Technically, but thrust is also a slight retool of an existing figure, and an exclusive that most people won't be able to get, so I stand by my points.

Oh hey speaking of faux forming, the ever so apparently perfect Bumblebee movie does loads of it. At the scene where Shatter first transforms you can see the real suped up air scoop tuck into her chest while a fake, slightly bigger one comes out to cover it. There's also the seekers, with the sections meant to look like parts of the cockpit but not actually, but then double down with Blitzwing as his robot mode toes are 4 landing gear when he turns into a plane that only has 3. Actually scratch that, because the Cybertronian Seekers have the same freaking toes, just covered up with a vaguely foot shaped bit in one of the most half assed design choices made in the movie. Second only to Ironhide and Ratchet's pancake faces.
I mean that's just a movie thing in general, nothing goes any logical place with them, and it's not really a worry in the films, just on the figures.

The only times in the movies where you didn't directly see the real vehicle part move directly to where it is on robot mode is when the designs barely had any to begin with and even then the attention to detail on each transformation ensured that you wouldn't be able to notice the trickery. Shatter, though, that shit is front and center and god damn insulting. The part literally goes exactly where it should be, and then is covered up by a barely different looking fake part for literally no reason, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE. Literally, faux parts are bad enough on a figure but they at least have to be physical objects, that was a clump of CGI purposefully made to piss us off.

Optimus from movie 1 and onward, is a Robot, that has pieces of a car Randomly stapled to him.
There's no logical rout any of the parts took to reach their destination.
I know there are figures where they had to make it work, but there was just no care put into the designs.

Prime's windows, grill, and a section of the engine cover went into the torso. The sides of the truck and majority of the hood formed the arms. The sides of the sleeper cab and rear fenders formed armor plating on the back, and the underneath chasis forms the legs. It's all pretty obvious in how it works, and accurate figures of the transformatiom have been coming out since ROTF since they didn't have to be based on concept art.
And it's sure a hell of a lot clearer than BB Prime. His robot mode has the rear wheels and windows and that's literally it. There's fucking headlights in his shoulders that don't match the headlights of the truck and the chest has a sun visor that the truck mode doesn't have. And despite the time eclipsing from it's debut to now as first movie to the ROTF toyline the most accurate anyone can do all turn into the wrong truck and just about none of the actual vehicle forms the bot mode as rather all those parts are tucked away or flipped inside out to hide them rather than properly incorporate. Meanwhile the most accurate 2007 design figure literally has no faux parts and no inside out panel fakeouts. And that is why BB Prime feels like such a downgrade.
@@NexusProductions-rz1sv He is not cleaner than Bumblebee Prime, that's what I like about that Design, is how clean it is. It doesn't look like he has random BS strapped to him.
Bumblebee prime is a Massive upgrade. He has the correct head, he never takes off his damn mask so we don't see his awful monster face, and he has sleek lines and heroic proportions.

Thanks for the head spinning trick, it really helped. Honestly this figure isn’t my favorite, for me it’s main cause of the paint. However the mold is good, cause his mold brother Runabout fixes the issues I had. Are you gonna try to get Runabout. Also I hate to say it. But u forgot my shoutout. U can skip it if you want.

@@nick-yt1099 Actually I think he looks better in pictures, I saw him in person at a store, and his head looks comically bad to me in person.
It looks borderline 2 dimensional as so horribly immobile.
Fast track is good
I don't think any of his modes look cool, I don't think his weaponizing is good, and of course he's obviously going to have a bad transformation, so there's nothing he does that I think is worth it.
The figure in robot mode looks very good, (with acception to those fake wheels, especially if they supoustu reprezent the back wheels, why they aren t painted? I get it this thing has a lot of paint allready, but syriesly, if you gonna do something like this, make shure all wheels look the same )
As for fake chest, his time I dissagree, I get it why you don t like it. But I think he looks better with the fake one here(but them again it is just my opinion)
And the car mode..... Ehhh, this is where this figure fails for me, the windshield don t sit flush, like AT ALL. And is too easy to find in my opinion (at least from other reviews I had seen so far)
And question of the video.... Would you like a blue or orange/gold RECOLORS of this figure? And whats your thought on that idea?
This figure does have a huge amount of the play dough feel to it, you really need to mash it together just right to get it to fit properly. You can get the windshield to work properly but that's a lot of work and squishing.
As for the final question, I don't even know if I need the Run About recolor. This is a good figure but not enough to make me say I want other no name versions of it. A good figure for Earthrise is like a Middling figure for another line.
@@PerspectiveEnd aha, fair enought. I asked about RECOLORS since in TF devastion the genericons where Runabout/Muck molds with vizors and mouthplates. And seeing how Hazbro likes to recolor/reuse molds as much as they can this could work as nice seleckt exclusives (at least considoring how they do this things, Spinout, Bugbite and 2G Megatron are good exampuls of easy RECOLORS)
I love the figure but the roof/windows of mine can't peg in properly so he'll be in bot mode only but let's face it who keeps their Transformers in alt modes.
About half or more of my collection is in altmode, as for the transformation, you can do it but it's a Pain. He's got a lot of the playdough quality, you just got to mash the back of the car into the front of the car cause if you don't the pegs arent close enough and they will pop out.
in my opinion his design is cool I'm not a G1 fan tho

Well I announced it a little over a week ago. I was going to do shout outs for Christmas, it was free game anyone who asked got one, before I had to shut them off because there were over 100 and the length of the video had already more than doubled.
Sad to say less than 16% of viewers of that video stuck it out to the end.

It turns almost exactly his altmode, it has all his defining features, Hood chest, car bumper feet, and it doesn't partsform.
It'd be a pretty solidly accurate representation of the character without the one major flaw that a lot of people despise.
