I love dragstrip and the fact that he turns into the most “what the fuck that’s real” alt mode, and I love imagining him having terrible drives to missions cause his car is so low or him being unable to hear his superiors because his engine is so deafening, that level of annoyance he’d have to go through to actively keep that mode is just too funny
Yeah, he's not exactly going to do great on normal roads, or across speed bumps.
Almost makes you wonder if he's like TFP Knockout, if his vehicle mode looks banger then all of that is worth it.
One thing I appreciate about dragstrip is that none of his upgrade kits are gap fillers. He’s got a seat for the vehicle mode and caps for the wheels…and that’s it. People really couldn’t think of how to upgrade this figure any more than the minute details. That *sings* to the quality of this figure.
I didn't even know there were already upgrades for him at all.
That’s pretty crazy.
I saw a video uploaded a few days ago showing some gap fillers for him, but I don't think there were as many gaps being filled as other figures who get them.
The fact he's a Tyrell P34 is amazing, they could've just gave him any generic looking 70s-80s F1 car, but they gave him the most unique one to make him stand out, and I love it. All we need now is a Transformer that turns into a Brabham BT46, and the duo of crazy 70s F1 cars can be complete.

The realization that G1 Dragstrip had no crotch literally made me laugh out loud and was hands down the funniest part of an already funny video. Legacy is making me love characters that I absolutely had no care for. Is Legacy technically part of WFC or is it a separate line?
I'm glad to hear it, I was proud of that little observation, and I tried to sell it to the best of my ability.

Literally my only complaints about the figure are that the silver face, if it's got a touch of blue in it, doesn't match the character model*, and the unpainted front part of the canopy. I did paint both myself, although the paint matching on the mustard yellow didn't go great. I've been considering painting it black instead to match the sticker on the toy, but that would require more area to be painted and inconsistent with the animation model this is going for. (*Sorry, PE, I do happen to prefer the light blue face myself)
This guy would look way cooler in black.
I may have figured out why kickback came first, he’s the only one in forged to fight, you might say that’s not probable because they pretty much abandoned the game, but the forged to fight design has the silver hat and buck tooth

I just found a vid of a guy who got the legacy motormaster and it's not what you thought it was. Motormaster ACTUALLY becomes menasors torso! Then the trailer becomes the body that connects the head piece to the top. So it will probably be one of the best official motormaster we've had in a while.

So I got Dragstrip around a week ago. The only issues I have are that the arms are slightly restricted and there’s a slight bit of the playdoh factor with the legs. Overall I’d say he’s an 8/10, would recommend. Good video as always.
You know I didn't put that together but you are right the legs are playdoughy.
Perhaps you could've dived into the pitfalls that dragstrip, and by extension legacy in general, avoided surprisingly well. (Maybe you could do that in a later legacy vid.)
That is an interesting Idea, and I wish I did that.
The fact that this figure's transformation is intuitive and it has a flabbergasting flat bottom like no other transformer toy has been able to accomplish screams top notch engineering!
What is this about a Flat Bottom?
@@PerspectiveEnd hahaha, I'm pointing that if you look at the car underneath, it's completely flat and what I call under-kibble is indistinguishable (there,s no robot head saying helllo or any other robot part recognizable), as a car should look like down there; specially a formula car!

Personally, I think this figure looks so cool. I think that it looks far more dynamic than the g1 model while still retaining the spirit. As for the head, I have a love-hate relationship with it. On the one hand, I think it looks amazing as it conveys so much personality. On the other hand, I feel that it doesn't look enough like the g1 model. It looks too brutish, while the animation model looked more youthful. As for what you could have talked about, I would have liked to hear more of your thoughts on the character design. You've mentioned before that you have a degree in animation, so I feel that you have many unique perspectives that you can share when discussing appearances. Also, I love the Dreamwave designs for the Stunticons.
I mean it does yeah, this is way cooler than the G1 Figure it's way more dynamic than the original was.
You're probably just getting Motormaster now too since as I recall you also just buy from Amazon or normal retail stores, and I couldn't find where you might have mentioned him in a reveal commentary video on a quick browse so I'll just add this here -- Turns out you can hang the gun pylon part off of Menasor ... sorta. There's no tabs or posts to hold it in place, but it'll stay on his back reasonably well if you mostly put it back in the U shape it attaches to trailer mode as, then jiggle it on around the arms/wheels backpack so the little multi-5mm-port side pieces hook onto the top of the torso on either side of his head. They're the only parts that even show from the front and his heel plates are already super long, so it looks decent enough and won't really take up more space on the shelf. While we wait for his second arm dude, the big gun can mount on the other shoulder too, by opening the near side handle on it to rest against the front face of his upper arm, and plugging the other one into the 5mm port on the part of the trailer that folds down so the barrels hang just past his elbow. Still looks like he was really working that sword arm, but it's at least LESS unbalanced...

@@PerspectiveEnd I'm talking about his team leader, Motormaster, and the otherwise useless bit of partsforming trailer kibble that isn't incorporated into Menasor. You know, for reference whenyou do get/get around to him.
After seeing this review, I wanted to get the legacy stunticons. after dragstrip arrived I loved the design so much and the guns where a chefs kiss since any cons could use them due to there generic apperance so thanks for recomenfing this almost perfect figure!
Continuing the concept of the Stunticons as Vietnam vets of the Cybertronian Great War would have been cool.
You pretty well covered the review without any noticeable gaps.

I've finally managed to secure all of the deluxes from a site as the UK has some shit distribution and getting a Deluxe every 3 weeks. But I can't wait to get this guy. I love the Stunticons, I know, a crime, so to get this guy (even though I loved the blood dripping eyes of the CW version) is gonna make me so happy
The CW one definitely had the way cooler head.
At the store the other week, I saw every wave 1 figure except Galvatron (who at the time I forgot was in Legacy) and Dragstrip. It honestly made me happy to see this one was selling and I don't even have him.
It is cool to finally see everything even if you don't plan on picking it up.
I always saw this guy in the cartoon and went THE LEGO GUY! Because his engine looked like a Lego brick. In both both modes
Someone else just pointed that out to me and I have to agree, yeah, he's got a lego brick for a chest.
I actually saw this figure at bobakan, I considered getting it but I waited until you reviewed it because honestly your the best toy reviewer. But yeah I am so getting this figure, I have so much hype for the motormaster.

Dragstrip is great! When first seeing him back in Pulse Con 2021 I instantly thought that he’d be a good figure and after getting it in hand this week Hasbro have proven me right! Can’t wait to get Wildrider next in wave 2 and the other three Stunticons in the future!

The legs could’ve used so silver paint of the exhaust to help break up the yellow. Vehicle mode is also good beside the seat area.
I’m interested to get motormaster in hand to see how he handles for a commander class like is the transformation clever or frustrating

Wildrider is looking like he's probably the worst of the wave.
The head reminds me of Judge Dredd. It makes me wonder about what it would look like moulded in black with a dark blue racing stripe down the middle, with epaulets that folded down instead of having to stand upright.
You know what I thought the same thing when I first saw this and then I forgot. Damn it that would have been a great observation to bring up in this video.
It's really good for a figure that's destined to live out his days on my shelf in arm mode, until the end of time.

Needs more purple, other than that it looks good. I even like his guns, Hasbro is getting better at making their figure's guns looking better. I also can see this mold getting retooled into a scamper figure.

Yeah, overall I’d say Dragstrip looks likes a decent figure. Whenever I get the chance to get him, he’ll probably end up being my first ever Stunticon.
I say probably as in pending on how long it will be until I get him. Cause if I end up waiting until Motormaster comes out, then I’m gonna end up getting Motormaster first.
But on the topic of the Stunticons, which version of Menasor would you say is your favorite design? Especially since G1 has the most bland combiner design. For me, I would say my favorite if the one from R.I.D (2015). It’s the only Menasor that looks visually striking and interesting to me; not to mention he doesn’t have two of the Stunticons on the back of his legs. (Though I do have to question why Dead End wasn’t apart of the Stunticons in the show).
Also, as a side note, in case you didn’t see my comment on the last video, RUclips wouldn’t let send you a link to the Galvatron repaint. You’ll just have to Google it.
And by then you might not be able to find him on shelves, and Motormaster without Dragstrip can not be complete.

On Sunday I went to Walmart after rewatching your iguanas review and since I had not enough money I forgoed getting Blaster and got the best core class of legacy and my fourth figure of Legacy and he was worth it

You can get one at Big Bad Toy Store still I think, although it's still in PreOrder. I already pre-ordered mine.
I mean it in the sense that some stores don’t have him in stock and that alone shows that he’s one of the best selling figures in the line so far.

Not a figure I'm ever going to buy as I'm happy with my Magic Square Stunticons but this guy seems great, loving the headsculpt and red stripes even if its not accurate.
I understand why you prefer your magic square, but for me this is the only Menasor that's really had me excited at all.

I remember that I wasn't really a fan of the Stunticons. My first introduction to them was in Combiner wars. But that didn't interfere my judgement when I looked into the Stunticon history from the G1 cartoon. I just didn't really like the combiner team design. In my opinion, their design just didn't look good compared to the others like Devastator or Bruticus. Not talking about Combiners war, just when it comes to combiners in general. So I original was going to pass on the Legacy version of the Stunticons. But that changed when Dragstrip here was revealed. And it was like, a switch of not liking the Stunticons flipped to liking them. And.... I'm glad. I seen more reviews of Legacy Dragstrip. Like how this yellow race car can spilt in half to be the arm armor plates for Menasor.
-Then later Wilder Rider and Motormaster were revealed, and they look awesome. So I guess I'm hooked. Another combiner team will being part of my collection.

I mean they've shown off how it works. It pegs on to the outside of a Frame. Like He's not integral at all, the limb bots are nothing more than decoration.

I was curious about something. I have dragstrip and when I transform him into car mode, I have a hard time putting the back tabs (the ones that connect both halves) into place. Do you have this problem, also the waist wobble a bit

I mean I wanted that all the way back in kingdom, but I'd take it now happily.

I literally just got my first four figures of the line and i am impressed the arcee isn’t that bad the bulkhead is great, the prime is good the only problem I have is the skinny arms and does the silver streak count because it’s also good

im gonna be honest, dragstrip looks like a dude from the 80s being cast as a cameo in an 80s nostalgia movie, I mean look at his face, he looks like hes aged 40 years , still great figure, im surprised that I was able to get one here in canada

I don't own an official one, but I did buy a KO recently. It's quite good.
I hope that hasbro will try to keep that some semblance of making G1 looking figures in the future for the later figures for the prime toyline that's coming soon

I bet all the guns of the limb stunticons are going to combine or have some integration in the combined mode, Wildrider and Dragstrip have a set of two pistols, I bet they either attach to Menasor as armour or combine with Deadends and Breakdowns to make a big gun for Menasor.

Well we know the Soundwave isn't happening, the PR stood for Packging Refresh, though it would have been cool to get him. And Didn't they already do the comic accurate Galvatron by doing the toy accurate one. They had the same colors.

Edit: got this guy for Christmas, and yeah he is amazing. Robot mode is good, better than the G1 look, alt mode is great and oh, oh yes that transformation is amazing.

Considering how little of this figure there is to talk about, you really did make it sound interesting. This video definitely did not feel like you were desperately trying to blow it up. I probably wouldn't have even thought about you extending the length if you didn't point it out.

I wouldn't know, I missed the start of CW.
I hope what they do is make different universe Stunticons like prime breakdown or off-road and make them compatible somehow. Maybe with the ports that connect menasors legs
I think that ship has sailed. Unless they feel like releasing figures you can swap later I don't see it as happening.

Fantastic review PerspectiveEnd!! Drag Strip is currently my least favorite deluxe class figure and it is partially due to his monotonous paint job. :P I think the lack of design with this figure was due to Hasbro and Takara Tomy putting a majority of the budget on Motormaster, since the chances are very likely that once collectors posses all five of the Legacy Stunticons, they will display them in their collections combined as Menasor. Hopefully the other Stunticons will have more interesting paint jobs then this highlighter pen Decepticon. lol Keep on being amazing.

Interestingly enough, dragstrip's vehicle mode was a real vehicle at one time, i believe it was made with extra wheels to give more control over steering which makes sense if this guy is a "stunt"icon, anyway yeah, he gud, great vid, and have a nice day

As a big fan of yellow & one of the few stunticon fans it seems, Im picking these up.
So far, I've got the 2 voyagers.
Skids who is surprisingly good and has a cool axe I've just given to Rodimus now..
And the chadly lizard bike guy.
Galvatron is better kingdom.
I'll pick this guy up & the 2 Laser Primes when i get funding back.
Bulkhead and Blaster are good Voyager figures to start off Legacy, Iguanus is also a decent Core class and Laser Optimus is a mixed feeling leader figure.
I tend to find the Stunticons are very popular, which always surprises me.
Glad you are liking your Legacy Experience so far.
I mean the reason I will be picking the Stuntcons is mainly due to that Motormaster and the Legacy Menasor because I’m a sucker for an Accurate combiner that’s not going to need me to take out a housing loan.
I do understand that at least, the 3P stuff can get pretty expensive.

I should have asked this in the previous video but would have been okay if in wfc there was no earthrise and kingdom, no earth modes and beast characters, but it was just cybertronian versions of characters all the wy through?

Pretty much what I thought too - "This guy is pretty solid. Moves well, looks okay, even better in altmode and the transformation is fun and different. Nice! Now run along to the shelf to wait for your team mates, while I play with (objectively worse yet somehow more inspiring figure) some more..."
Which figure are you currently playing with that's objectively worse?
@@PerspectiveEnd Cyberverse Arcee and T30 IDW Megatron, AKA Miss Superlegs Shellformer and Mr. Way Too Stiff (except the wrists and shoulders) But that Arcee has a face full of character and just moves and poses *so well* somehow (I did trim down those two square nubbins behind her shoulders to the angled surfaces they always should have been to stop pinching my fingers and restricting her upper arms first) despite her torso being half the size it should be for her limb length and half her mass being the car she's got on her back, while Spiritron looks so cool despite all the joints that barely move and the shoulders and wrists barely being able to support their own weight. I have been fiddling with them for days, and have no inclination to stop yet.
(Also I got that five-step bayverse "Hound" that's supposed to have a gimmick cube stuffed in his chest, but that was just because he was the cheapest version and I want to stick Pteraxodon in his hand with one wing hyperextended like a pick and have him dance along to "Diggy Diggy Hole." If I could find the so called "Knight Armor" two-step version that has a horned helmet flip out over his face for =
They did a T30 IDW Megatron... OH are you talking about the stealth bomber version.
@@PerspectiveEnd That one, yes. It's why I call him Spirit-tron. I actually already had the bayformer head ("Megaplex" or "Skyquake," depending) and G2 Dreadwing (usually gets treated as a Sweep stand-in) recolors already, so I knew what I was getting, but that doesn't make the joint issues any better. So cool looking, though, and the way it expands the center section to fill out the torso is clever.
I saw this figure at the store and got kickback instead. Did I make the right choice?
I think they are both good choices, but this would have been the better one.
For some reason I actually like the unbroken yellow jumpsuit he's wearing in robot mode.

His head looks like he got drunk and tried cosplaying as judge dredd. He definitely needs a dark color to break up the all consuming yellow.

@@PerspectiveEnd I can't see in their heads, but the ball joint could affect the head being a seat in alt mode, or something like that. Mushroom peg takes less vertical space than balljoint.
I honestly got him because i want him to form Menasor with the other stunticons The only Stunticons i care about is Motormaster and Wildrider, I would have said breakdown, but the WFC and TFP breakdown are totally different characters that have nothing to do with being a stunticon. I normally get a Transformers toy based on how much I care about their character or how cool they look.
What are your thought on Dragstrip as a character, to me he's the character that is just there.
For me all of the Stunticons are just There. None of them leave a real impression.

I wasn’t sure on this guy at first because his plastic looked really cheap because of the colour but now after seeing it in reviews as well as how motormaster/menasor is going to look he’s going to be my first as soon as he becomes available over here

the only issue i have with the new menasor and this guy is well the fact it isn't really a combiner menasor is just a big robot who slapped on bits of cars on his shins and arms rather then being made from those cars and truck
Yeah, the limb bots are just decoration, it's why I always hate Menasor.
