Bikes and Quads used to be allowed on the beach, banned as the few, with no restraint, ruined it for everyone else. Wonderful camera work by Monica, such a beautiful part of the world that I made many memories from when I was younger.
Always the Selfish Few that Spoil it for The Rest
Freddie would Have pootled along the Beach on the Enfield parked up & Disturbed No other Beach Users
You might spray sand onto people who are doused in lotion
@@booster330 no more than any 4x4 that Drives on the Sand
The ones that get flooded with sea water when they get Stuck because they Weigh so much
After this comment I will shut up.. But at 7 years old I learnt to drive on those sands in my Dads Austin A10 I am now 70 OH MY GOD 70 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But in those days you were lucky to see more than 15 cars on the beach at anyone given time. How times have changed.. Having said that it looks like there were not many cars on the day you were there ??Probably something to do with folk being fed up of the regs in Wales ??????????????????????PleasePlease return and take time to review the land in its full glory its worth everyminute of your time trust me !!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t mean to make fun, and it’s easy for me being Welsh, but I almost spat my coffee out when you said porth ma dog! 😂 great video as always! 🏴
Go on Jer, how's it done?
@@simoncaddick9085it’s like abercwmspangle but you don’t pronounce any of the Z’s.
It rubs the lotion on its skin
I'm Indian and i love your perspective of all the bikes. I can't wait for you to get your hands on the latest Bullet. Keep up the good work Freddie!
The old building may well have had living quarters above the lower section. Livestock underneath. Theres a fireplace on the upper floor.
Great video.... More I prefer when you travelling around UK it's so more excited to see beautiful place so British and so stunning.... Really good high quality video.... With different and unice atmosphere with every video so natural.... All best👌👌👌👌
Had many happy holidays in Porthmadog at our friend's caravan just behind Blackrock sands, used to love the coastal walk from the beach back into the town, a few beers at the railway stn then back on the local bus... a beautiful part of the county...
You need to go to Newquay in Ceredigion, & go Dolphin watching, there are some hidden Beaches to along that coastline.
Been out on mine all day, brilliant bobing along , just broke 3000 miles so nearly time for 2nd service and I'm treating the bike to a performance camshaft, looking forward to fitting it❤
Adventure bikers and history lovers seem to go together. Also really loved that little church episode you did. More please when you can.
Yeah, i know the feeling.Sold the Hayabusa last year but couldnt be without a bike and bought a Street Triple R from 2011 in early June 2023 and in September this same year i have done 9320 miles on it ha ha ... Riding to and from work and on my free days all over the place in Scandinavia are pure happiness.
Great roads and scenery. How are you enjoying the Classic 350? I’d say it’s perfect for welsh roads. Thanks for sharing, another great video.
Your point is very true. We were touring Europe a few weeks ago and in an Austrian bar one of the locals said Hello Englanders. Mortified, what an insult !
Well, now I know why New South Wales is called NSW! 3:37 could basically be anywhere here om the east coast.
Anyway, hello from down under and thanks for the great content!
Bravo F and M - great content - one of my fave areas!
Love those expensive corrugated “aluminium “ roofs that Welsh farmers of yore employed!! 🤣🤣…I would have used cheap corrugated iron myself but hey ho! 🙈😉😘….just teasing guys!…epic vid as usual…the camera work and sound is amazing…looking forward to the next instalment 👍
That beach was used for the photo shoot for one of the manic street preachers albums. Madog is pronounced a little bit like mad dog
freddie you gotta check out the brand new RE Bullet 350. just released!
I was looking forward to you putting the bike on the side stand on the beach..:-)
Firstly you both are great...um....due to my work i work along side the police....chatting to one the officer's one night, they do the police advanced motorcycle training i day course, think its bike safe or something similar.... do a video on you doing the course....
I noticed you mentioned being on the West coast of Wales... will you be visiting the East coast as well??
Freddie. That's what happens when you ask politely. What you forget is that the beach is yours to use and care for as you wish as long as you don't harm, destroy, disturb, or in any way bother people with your bike. It isn't up to another person to tell you what you can and cannot do. You're a grown up man, you understand responsibility and you are aware of what's good, and what's bad. Authorities are here to benefit you, not to limit you. Wardens and guards in these areas are there in case of careless people doing damage or other mischief. As long as it's not private land or for some reason a protected area, you're free to enjoy nature where ever and whenever, with your bike, your horse, your dog, cat, or even a girlfriend.
not at all, bikes and quads are banned from Black Rock Sands
Hey Freddie, I'm just watching this video again and thinking about your bike situation. I think you should buy yourself two bikes. Nearly new super meteor also a classic 350! Both bikes super cool with two different looks and feel!
Would like to hear the motorcycle engine then music ,nice video
For safety reasons bikes arnt aloud on the beach BUT CARS CAN??
Hi Freddie, im on the cliff of buying a classic but just heard the bullet is coming next year what should i do?
Id want to get clarification on that... gentleman's decision to ban your bike from the beach 🤬
Whatever camera Monika is using it’s spectacularly good. That opening sequence is almost 3D!
Pretty sure just an iPhone
Probably iphone as theyre very good at filming
It's an iPhone
The camera is a little bit nervous. . .
Ohh Freddie & Monika ❤️ Your adventures are truly inspiring and beautiful! How are you finding the little Classic 350? Is it incredible to ride all day & for these little side journeys? Is Monika comfortable as pillion? Wales is magical & magnificent ⭐️
For the final Welsh video that I filmed yesterday, I did a 450+ mile day. The Enfield did it with ease, and I was comfortable all day. Monika says it’s the second most comfortable bike she’s ever been on (just behind my Bonneville with the King and Queen seat).
The bike can do everything and can comfortably be one’s only bike. It is… a joy❤️🏍️
And it looks and sounds great too.
650cc meteor cruiser, with added padded seat, back rest and screen.
@@FreddieDobbs that’s because you’re both the King & Queen 😉😎❤️
@@FreddieDobbsso imagine how it would be with the touring seats fitted 😊
"Due to safety reasons"... what a load of bollocks. "Safety" has just become a blanket excuse for any jobsworth to put the kibosh on your fun. There's more danger from the bloody cricket ball! Guess which country I won't be visiting for next year's summer holiday.
Wait, what? Cars allowed on the beach but not bikes? Why?
Besides, starting my Sunday the best possible way: laundry, your video while I have coffee, and then heading out with my girl and motorcycle for geocaching 😊. Your video puts me in the right mood 🙂. Really loving the scenery and the Classic.
Don't really get how someone who is just another human can decide you can't ride your motorbike on some surfaces between the land and the water. It's just made up nonsense really.
I don't know why, but a reason could be that bikes frequently don't have engine covers obligatory for cars, so they can potentially spill oil.
Should be clearly marked though, perhaps Freddie was given wrong info.
No Bikes because those that rule this fantastic country are MORONS NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS MORONS I.E. 2000 bikes come to Wales well North Wales every weekend during the summer so what do the Morons do make it as hard as possible "lets put as many blocks as we can in the way " 20M.P.H. speed limits that cost 33 million yep 33 million get as many police cars and camers out to catch them speeding.. Fuck the schools and Hospitals they dont need the cash but we do to pay our wages its a total joke it honestly is.. As a Welshman all I can say is sorry !!!!!!!!!but please come back because we need every one of you and we are not all ass holes as a lot of folk think we are just like you trying to survive with Morons at the helm !!!!!!!!!!!Rant Over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry it is not their reasoning is safety and saving lives what a load of bollocks that is how many deaths in 2022 and 2023 in 30 zones ?????NIL !!!!!!!!!!! We have more avarage speed cameras in Wales than the rest of the world Well if they can talk shit so can I !!
@IceAce1 most of my cars have leaked oil a few even onto the exhaust that makes them un driveable really. That was a vauxall astra. None of my bikes have ever leaked oil. I've never had a KTM though
@@chrishart8548 That Astra must have smoked a lot of cars then;) I can second the general experience re cars/bikes.
My car dealer once said that VW started adding extra black foam to the engine undertray so that customers don't complain as much about oil drips on it ..
Lovely Wales. ❤
Went to Anglesey from Bedford on my Yamaha FS1E 48 years ago. When I was young and carefree! Unfortunately I broke down when I got there and had to come back on a train, travelling in guard vans with my moped! 🤣
Now this is a proper adventure!
You wouldn't be able to do that today, more's the pity.
Well done. The only way to avoid these things is to never set off and then you can’t tell interesting story of how you got back.
Having breakfast and watching your latest video on a sunday morning really makes me want to drop everything for the day, jump on the old bike and explore the countryside. 🏍💨 Thanks Freddie and Monika 👍
I suspect bikes are banned because idiots have been racing up and down on the beach endangering families. That castle is Criccieth Castle, by the way. You should have stopped by the Ffestiniog Railway when you were having a coffee in Porthmadog - a delightful little railway.
Hey Freddie, that colourful jacket that you're wearing looks amazing. Where'd you get that from ? Also, this was a beautiful video
Man, this bike looks good on you. You should buy it, this exact color model. 👍🏽
Been watching your videos ever since that triumph bobber with ape handlebars popped into my feed (been 2yrs, I guess). Big fan here🙂.
My love for Wales comes from the fact that it's one of the few places left in the UK almost untamed by humanity and civilization. It's raw and wild and one can really get away and feel free for a while.
You have obviously never been to Cardiff. 😁
Welsh men love rubbing the lotion on the skin
your right about civilized !!! lol
I’m the same. Never call me British! I am English! Can become jolly grumpy!! 🤬😡
Amazing. I love the stone house. I saw a chimney and what looked like a fireplace. Would that be common in an animal shelter. Or maybe it was a little bit of both. Those riding lanes and beaches are incredible.
Ride a bike like that with all that chrome on a beach ???
I live in Wales close to the coast, we have responsible off road bikers but there's always the minority who have little respect for the beaches or meadows and tear up the grassland or race along the beach, the minority as in many other cases spoil it for the majority hence no motorcycles allowed on that beach for safety reasons.
Hope you do get further south Freddie, maybe head towards Llandovery a bikers cafe awaits and Brecon is always worth a visit, save the Gower Peninsula for another trip. Ride safe both.
Lovely video and lovely scenery .
I want to take the Ferry and visit Wales now.
Greetings from Germany
Come to north of denmark. Beautiful beaches and you can drive whatever you like on them! ❤
Ahh man I've not been on my bike no where near enough this year, love these videos, keeps me motivatied for future adventures..
Wales would definitely be my choice had l not decided to live in España...Wales is a wonderful country to tour and explore ...l have to say though, weather is the largest reason l would not return to UK. The thought of a freezing cold damp environment is just too awful to contemplate after twenty years living in the Sun....Enjoy your trip, l enjoy watching your journey
I’m from South Wales and I left in 2006, it hasn’t got any better since then.
14:55 Aluminium? With rust? Lol!
Incredible stone house!
Bikes, and you two, take us everywhere!
If you like Wales you should try Ireland’s west coast sometime. Similar weather too!
I think between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland we have everything we need on our doorstep for some stunning motorcycle holidays to suit all types of riding, we may not have the expance of Europe or the US but I think we win hands down with scenery. Great video
Agreed
Wonderful video. 🙌 It’s seems absurd to me that cars can park on the beach but motorbikes aren’t allowed. Dumb rules are so dumb. 🤦♂️
SPLENDID, Thank you for taking us around guys.
"Not possible to ride on the beach": simply don't trust google 😎 The sound of the mono is poetry, even more in that scenario. What about the Stratocaster hang on the wall in the coffee shop? Have a good ride
Incredible video as always Freddie. I've been to Wales in july and I feel so dumb that I didn't know about that beach. Such a shame that UK/Europe is so strict on these kinds of stuff, same goes for off-roading. It doesn't really seem to be the case in places such as Canada, US or Australia, however I just base that on the videos I watch on RUclips ^^
It seems ridiculous to use the ‘H&S’ excuse. Whose health & safety? Riding there on a motorbike could jeopardise your H&S. Surely it’s for the individual to decide. If it’s down to antisocial riding, that should be said & policed - although car drivers can be antisocial too. Annoying nanny-state attitudes.
Great vid as per 👍
Just never drive or ride on a beach, it's just wrong. There are already too many vehicles about. Letting them on beaches is just wrong.
Weird I typed Black Rock beach motorcycle and it says quad bikes and motorcycles are strictly prohibited
We visited harlech last Oct half term ( 20c ! And parked on beach ) at this time.of year no little hut or guard so anyone could just drive on. It was quiet compared to summer - I imagine you could probably just ride on and park up just like the cars.
TE Lawrence was born in the adjoining town to Porthmadoog , Tremadog , you can find his house with a blue plaque . So now you have been to his birth town , His crash site (RIP), now all you need to do is one of your epic road trips to the Middle East .....
A bit late to the party but I loved this one. This is my home. The opening shot was just up the road from Bennar Beach, Black Rock Sands is an institution for young drivers to spend their evenings driving. And then going to T H Roberts coffee shop and eating Meg’s cake and talking to Sam (Meg’s grandson) about his bike. Love it.
By the way, go to Black Rock out of season and there’s nobody manning the booth to tell you that you can’t ride your bike 😜
They're barrel jellyfish, pretty harmless. Great vid as usual. You could ride bikes on there in the mid 1960s, in my case at the time a Lambretta.😁
Sorry Freddie I did not go the whole way before seeying the no go beach bit !!!!!!!!!!! This is what I am on about !! Lets stop everyone that might have some fun comming to Wales bikers are like the Devil itself here and yet so so many come and spend money and help the community but as always the MORONS just do not get it LET ME APPOLOGISE ON BEHALF OF ALL SENSIBLE WELSH FOLK AND SAY THIS!! THANKS FOR COMMING THANKS FOR MAKING A VID AND THANKS FOR NOT LOSING YOUR COOL WHICH I WOULD HAVE DONE. I, as a Welshman, have seen bikes on the beach.. Bikes are no more dangerouse than cars infact probably less so because car drivers are just car drivers
bikers see whats around them.. Jesus give me some hope !!! Sorry Monica Sorry Freddie Thank god you are decent folk !!! END OF ANOTHERR RANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In India, this is our big bike, and a big brand with its own passion.. The riders doesnt even show smiling face..and automatically became a Ghost Rider when we rode this bike.
So Its a big disrespect and offensive when westerners call it Cute bike, Little bike, Women bike, beginner bike..etc 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the great review of my father land Freddie and Monica .. We are so so lucky to live amongst what you see but sadly those that so call govern this lovely lovely land are nothing more than morons.. I make no appologies for saying what I say because as always what ever they do puts folk off coming to Wales !! Their latest magical thoughts will not allow you to drive/ride above 20 M.P.H. in 30 M.P.H. zones at a cost of 33 million yep 33 million
and in Wales the schools and hospitals are not short of money so that expenditure is just fine ?? Love your vid as always Take care both and please please come back one day I/We have a little anex that as I have said before you are more than welcome to come and stay.. We can then talk bikes for hours and hours and hours If that has not put you off then look forward to meeting you both one day !!!!!!!
The more I look at The RE, the more I like it.
Come to Northern Ireland.....,we got Beaches on the Antrim Coast and scenery to take your breath away...❤
BG.
Oh yeah--I'm a Southerner and cannot STAND being called a "Yank" or "Yankee;" for what should be extremely obvious to most..
Looks like you're not for from Portmerion - TMF was there last week by co-incidence. Also as far as Porthmadog goes, I'm pretty sure the pronunciation is Port-MAdog, with no 'th' sound. Thanks for the latest video, I'm loving the 350.
You (or is it Monika) always manage to find a top-drawer coffee shop. Nice!
I can empathise with your Welsh friend not wanting to be thought of English. Vice versa also applies I guess. Nationalism is a nasty thing, though National Identity is something else altogether.
The 350 looks perfect for the Welsh trip - what a bike.
Any news re; the Bonnie?
5:55 To be honest, I'm a little surprised as to why you'd think motorbikes WOULD be allowed on a beach (at least, in a location like this). I've been riding for just over 40 years, and clearly love bikes...but I wouldn't want to see them on a beach, if I was on holiday, trying to relax and enjoy some peace. Would you? Also, as the guy said, there is clearly the safety aspect of it. Would you want motorbikes riding on a beach where your toddlers are playing?
Dude Royal Enfield just Launched New Generation Bullet 350 here in India make a video when Launched in Uk.
of course that beach woulld look Way nicer without all the motor vehicles all over it!
Pendine sands Freddie, they used to do landspeed records there
Blackrock Sands banned quads and motorcycles in 2008 after public petition, as riders were apparently overwhelming the area and causing safety issues, leading to several fatailities.
Every episode I see, I feel like meeting with old friend Frieddie.
What camera are you using right now? Footage quality is amazing!
Kind regards from Poland.
I don't know about anybody else but I've been following Freddie for a while... I'm busting to see what Monika looks like...
Cars on a beach is like shoes on the kitchen table.
Cool helmet! What brand is it? Do you recommand it? I ride a r1200c Bmw! Best bike ever by the way..,)
Another example of discrimination against motorcycles?
I was just in Snowdonia or atleast the surrounding area near to it and every time I would be in the car with my mum I was just imagining riding a motorcycle through the country roads with the wind flowing around me. After all that motorcycle thinking and watching your videos, I’ve been really keen on getting a motorcycle as soon as possible. My Grandfather and father tell me their stories of owning motorcycles and it makes me feel like I have to have one at some point in time.
Just a little thought of mine as I clicked on this video. Keep up the great work 😎
Worth it!
If you particularly want to ride on a beach in Wales then I believe the Straightliners racing club are going to restart the land speed racing at Pendine Sands in 2024. In previous years (pre-covid) you could enter on an ordinary road bike.
It would make an excellent video.
Wow your in mr darcy & the old man territory. I’m sure he stopped there to look at that building and ironically on his 350 classic loan also.
Lovely beach, if you are ever in Cornwall kynance cove the lizard beautiful stunning beach like your on another world Tennyson loved it there. 👍
Love the channel mate always worth a viewing great little trip.
West coast is great .
Most telling thing ?
When you looked outside the cafe and couldn't say what the other bike was.
Enfields? As obvious and unique as Harleys.
But with bigger sales.
Off myself tomorrow for a short 3 day trip to test my load out and new tent before next years long tour.......on?
Yup a 350 classic Red and Chrome .
"But you can't tour on small bikes they are too slow"
Shout the big bore bike riders.
Yea . sure what ever you say. Bye.
Always makes me laugh .
Happy riding
Lee and Ethel the Enfield.
Have a great trip on your Classic 350🤘🏼🤘🏼
I totally agree; I did 450 miles yesterday. The Enfield handled the day with total ease and in complete comfort. The bike can do it all💪🏼💪🏼
Great video.
Front wheels can easily dig in on sand and throw the bike to the ground. I only know it because I saw it happen to FreeMilesMC RUclips channel. He fractured his ankle while In Iceland, the bike would only start with a push start and he still managed to get himself home. Terrible situation, I learnt in that video to be cautious on sand
Wonder if enfield would prefer not to have salted corroding 350 returned after visiting beach😮 or couldnt careless because of immense publicity from your channel cheers both 👍👍👍
That beach reminds me of Ainsdale beach just down the road from us with sands stretching for miles and very large dune areas. Cars again are allowed but again I've never seen any motorbike's , pushbikes yes motorbike's no.
Certainly the 'No Motorcycles' rules should only apply to dirt bikes and atvs. Not sedate country cruisers like the RE. What a ridiculous rule....
Freddie, you inspired me to do my first ever (I’m 63) ‘mini’ (1 day) bike ‘tour’ around Snowdonia today, on my Triumph Speedmaster 1200 (2018). I loved every minute. Sitting ‘on’ a bike offers much better views than ‘in’ a car. I even liked the average speed cameras as they meant I was much less likely to get blasted by a ‘crotch rocket’. Keep up the good work as you are making people’s lives better, not ‘just’ making (excellently crafted) videos.
Another fabulous job Freddie and Monika.... having owned/restored a '70 Bonneville that sadly had to go... your videos remind me of how joyful just putting around the countryside was when we lived up in New England. The roads and scenery in Wales is spectacular.....whereas SW Florida has NO interesting roads at all, just straight.... and HOT! Thank you for another great video.... Frank fr Florida
Did they explain why bikes aren’t allowed? There’s a world of tourism they’re missing out on.
I love 30l bag! I always take a cheap old bike cover! Out of sight out of minds from the thieves!
Why would an animal shelter have a chimney? I think Freddie that little place you looked inside would have been for animals (maybe pigs back in the day) and also windows in that building back in the day glass was very expensive which is why windows were so small, but doubt you would have windows and a chimney stack on an animal shelter, it may have ended up as an animal shelter but originally that was someone's cottage.
I ought to make the effort to ride around Wales. Good to see Monika knows her bikes. And her animal sanctuaries. Nick J
Freddie, have you ridden around West Wales and Pembrokeshire? You'll absolutely love it!
Freddie, I visited a place you would like called idle torque. It’s a motorcycle clothing and gear shop. Very special location and cafe on site you should give it a look
One question, 0:43 how are those houses were built? any special name for these types of buildings? just asking out of curiosity. Wales feels like home of souls.
I think you maybe getting your beaches mixed up. The world famous Pendine Sands is the one you can ride on.
Freddie you were right about riding your bike on the beach at black rock sands back in the 70s we used to race up and down happy days. Not good for the chrome and chain though
Pendine sands . What’s the problem .Literally everyone knows that.
I am sure you could make Wolverhampton sound picturesque. A proper gentleman.
wev go with friends kitesurfing there! always driving on the beach! although got tolg of by police after doing donoughts haha
Here in England everyone pronounces it Port Maddock. Everyone then knows exactly where you went !
