This made just the difference I needed. This time of year in Houston the ZR1 starts running just a hair hot. And yes, there is a spelling error in this video. Got another part waiting to go on ZR1 and going to teach the wife to launch the Focus ST; so be sure you hit that Subscribe!!!
Years ago I was told by their engineers that there is no reason to use Water Wetter unless I ran my vehicle at a track that restrict the use of glyco based coolants. I can believe that the stuff works like Caterpillar coolant additive refreshing the old coolant in place to avoid draining.
Wasn't sure if you were aware but if you had hp tuners would changing the parameters for the cooling temp u could just adjust it there and place a new thermostat in for like 190 or so but then again I'm sure cuz I'm not an expert by any means but if ur not trying to do all that and take a risk cuz I heard the fans are pulse modulated.
Yeah we have made those adjusts and everything g was great until the cam. Think I’m just maxing it out. Going intercooler or Prospeed setup. It’s just barely pushing the heat envelope.
Redline water wetter is what is said it is. It works man I've been using it for 25 plus years on race cars race bikes street trucks. There's some bad reviews on Amazon but there's always a bad apple in every bunch. I used to buy this stuff directly from the corporate office in Benicia California. It was pretty cool. Pun intended
It works great. Won't hurt anything and not corrosive like anti freeze. So much safer. Your good man. And I would love to see your car. Sounds like a killer build
I’ve been using Red Line Water Wetter in all my vehicles (including ATV’s) for over 20 years… with good results. I have also been using Red Line’s synthetic oils since 1990… before synthetic was cool. All their products are top notch. 👍🏻
I agree coolant boosters do work. If you have a car thats running hot can use straight water & any coolant booster product for max cooling. This is basically a race mix, it may make car run too rich. replace with proper coolant mix after you fix the running hot situation
Yes sir. My hot situation is a cam and smaller supercharger pulley. I usually do water and super coolant in summer and dexcool with super coolant in winter. Gives me a couple degrees if I can’t get momentum for airflow.
Thank you so much for the video!!! I bought a blown ls7 vette and swapped it with a built lq4 that is now super charged. I am currently in arizona now and boy does the cast iron motor love the heat! I have an ls3 in my camaro and it is unbothered. I have an aftermarket aluminum dual fan radiator and put in a lingenfelter 160° thermo, but i am still looking to get the temps down more. I only drive the car on cooler nights, but it still runs hot in the summer. I am debating on trying this before pulling my hair out lol. On a cast iron would you recommend a 50/50 split or the same as an ls9?
A little tip don’t use 50/50 water coolant use a 70 percent water 30 percent coolant and water wetter gives about 3-4 degrees above zero freeze protection which is good enough for most
I use dexcool prestone 50/50 prediluted antifreeze coolant in my 2011 chevy camaro v6 can I just add this to my car does it mix with this or do I need to do a flush and add other coolant before I mix this in or can I just pour it into my car please help ??? Here in arizona gets hot
It will mix. I just wanted to take advantage of the fact I was adding some fluid. I just wanted to remove some of the slush on bottom of radiator is all. You can add it and it mixes fine.
So on the bottle it says the best cooling is water+water wetter. Where I live it rarely freezes. And when it does get cold I don't mind changing out the coolant accordingly. Can I just run distilled water + water wetter??? I noticed my car runs significantly cooler with just plain distilled water compared to 50/50 mix coolant.
@@OnlinecarshowNet1 oh wish I read this sooner. Lol. I decided to just use coolant 50/50 with water wetter. Suppose next time I'll just use water and the wetter and do yearly change interval.
I sent you a comment of a video you posted two years ago on your upgraded exaust on the camaro in texas. Is that legal ? I want to get it done can you please respond back to me
I so apologize 🙏 I try to answer every question but I don’t always get notifications from RUclips or gets missed. To answer the questions on is the exhaust legal I had on camaro and corvette. Well you can’t get a ticket for it but removing catylitic converts can cause you to fail a state inspection. So I wouldn’t say illegal just an inspection issue
@@OnlinecarshowNet1 Good afternnon God bless you and your family, thankyou for the reply. Not by removing the stuff is it illegal, but i mean the noise. Will you get a ticket for modded exaust etc?
You can in California and late at night one here in Texas night mess with you. But I’ve never had it. Plus I have NPP so I have a valve on rear exhaust and did in camaro too. To make quieter. On camaro it had separate mufflers for quiet and loud. On the corvette it shuts off two pipes.
@@OnlinecarshowNet1 You are being so nice to me thankyou so much God bless you and your family. You mentioned something about a valve control? On and Off? Ive been trying to find that. I know armytrix has for almost every car brand, but they dont for camaros unfortunantly
Yeah I know just so damn high. She will hit 230 on a super hot day. Eventually going to improve SC cooling and maybe radiator shroud setup by prospeed. That should at least help.
I do mine yearly at least. By coolant directions you need every 5 at least with Orange. You might do every other. It kind of depends on build a little too.
@@OnlinecarshowNet1 thanks👍🏻I drive a stage 3 tuned RS7 equipped with additional water radiator, still all those horses are running a little hot😅 do you think it will do anything mixed with the VW pink G13 ?
@@babagandu tried it. Actually I found myself running with higher cooler temp because it “drains” more heat from the block. Had to change all my hoses for better heat resistant ones in silicone. The only thing is my fans are always working now because the ecu thinks the engine is overheating. And the RS7 block is built in a way that make fans partially blow hot air into the air intake… So I think I will just keep the new hoses, flush all the coolant and use regular G13. Modern engines are built to avoid overheating, let’s just accept that. That Redline thing is made for older cars with malfunctioning cooling systems or race cars with specific hot air exhausts I think.

You didn't "go over" anything. This was just a dumb video of you putting something in your coolant reservoir. NO RESULTS. waste of time and misleading.
Sorry man. It's very hard to test something like this without heat imaging and controlled temp environment. Tried to come up with ways I could test but all had holes in how results would be. I really wanted this video just to let people know it existed and maybe research more. Hopefully I'll get a heat imaging gun soon and we can revisit this video

Yea I hear it;s Hot down there and we are going to be down this Tuesday to sign lease and then come back to move in the following week
I’m in Austin returning to houston right now. Think it was 107 today in Austin. Houston is above 100 too which is weird because of humidity.
Q50 3.0T and I live in Arizona. Temps are like 110😂 temps went from 199.4 -> 186. So I love this stuff I got all my boosted friends to use it

My Terminator Cobra runs hella hot too. Going to give this a try. So hot during the summer!
It's not the end to heat. But when your fighting boost heat anything helps
My truck isn’t running hot but I got a trip to Vegas and thinking of adding this just so she can stay cool in the hot desert
I plan on adding this when I do my coolant flush, don't think my zr1 has had one. Is there a bleeder to bleed the air from the system?
You can remove the return line and blow through where it would connect to Reservior. I typically let it run to hot with top off is all.
Very nice. I have used it before (different brand) and it does indeed help!! great video. Sounds great!
Yeah it’s actually staying just above thermostat temp now. Maybe was air in line I got out too. But she’s way cooler for sure.
