Chewbacca is the best pilot ever. The only one that can fly the Falcon by himself without a co pilot. He even turned on the headlights during this scene.
When Chewie sat in the co-pilot's seat, cheers and clapping was heard in my showing.

Williams actually wrote a couple new cues. The soundtrack was about the only thing about this movie that worked for me. Once Kathleen Kennedy made the decision to fire Lord and Miller, this movie should have been scrapped altogether so that Ron Howard could have done it all his way. I would much rather have endured a year without any “Star Wars” movie than have them rush this out. And people had issues with “Last Jedi?” Seriously? This movie nearly derailed the entire “Star Wars Stories” franchise singlehandedly.

This was arguably my favorite part of the whole movie. 0:35 Han and Chewbacca are the best of friends.

This whole movie reminded me of being kid, playing with my Kenner Han Solo and Chewbacca action figures and Millennium Falcon playset ♥️

This movie has a lot of very classic star wars feels and at the same time feels very contemporary. It's not great, but I highly recommend you check it out.

in fairness, TLJ sets a low bar. TWILIGHT is better than it :P

In the Disney Era, the Rebel Alliance theme is slowly becoming the Milennium Falcon theme... and I kinda like it.
Rubber Pencil Studios I’ve noticed that also, however I’m not a fan. I don’t ever really feel anything when I hear the rebel fanfare with the falcon (besides of course “the garbage will do!”) whereas in Rogue One (A film I don’t really care for) when it used on the shot of the Alliance HQ and the fleet arriving it really hits home.
I always think Han and Leia's theme was the falcon theme
The Rebel Fanfare isn't in this clip though. Just Asteroid field and the main title theme

Great acting!
The SW movies are the only ones still consistently using this style of film-scoring and thank God for that. Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, Danny Elfman, etc are still at the top of their game and doing great work, but this unabashed technique is something that you don't hear in your average blockbuster tentpole movie anymore. It used to be par for the course in the late 70's- 80's. John Powell did a great job adapting and adding to John Williams' work.

The movie was great too bad it got tied in with Last Jedi backlash. The part with Chewie taking the seat next to Han was bitter sweet. Star Wars would be saved if JJ Abrahms could bring Han Solo back in IX. I think killing off Han Solo is the other thing that doomed this movie. Oh and Kathleen Kennedy didn’t help anything either.

The millennium falcon is such a big character in its own beautiful right , people talk about the old and new movies but not much is said about the falcon and its been in most of the star wars movies and older than most of the original cast and doesn't really get the recognition it deserves it spear heads every battle the rebellion and resistance are in and win !!
And all that while it's only a modified YT-1300 freighter/barge pusher lacking an escape pod!
Remember: Han is Chewie's pet dog, not the other way around.
I yelled “YEAH!” when solo finally activated the hyperdrive.

Would love to see an entire series on Han and Chewies' early exploits as smugglers and general swindlers for hire. Much like the Mandalorian except they don't have a code. Just out there looking to make some money. it would be cool to see him interact more with Jabba, Greedo and the gang before the events on New Hope.
