@@JJ_R It's possible that Maya was wearing some type of wrap binding, and that said wrap fell of when Tah'rust was channeled.
It's also possible that Maya just straight up doesn't have to wear a bra to begin with (because some women can do that), but I refuse to let that train of thought continue

Tahrust knew that Maya knew Keera's name because he knows the scroll holds her name. That's certainly knowledge that someone who performs the rite so frequently would know. He obviously knows about the scroll, the scroll itself isn't secret.
We're getting to the real stuff of turnabouts in this case, the stuff that overturns everything we'd been working on up to this point. Phoenix has not only proposed the idea that Beh'leeb Inmee could have been Zeh'lot's murderer, but that Zeh'lot himself was the rebel-hunting Lady Kee'ra. Even when Nahyuta tried to spin the fact that Maya could channel spirits to claim she channeled Lady Kee'ra, Phoenix was able to masterfully shoot that idea down. With all of the other possibilities eliminated, what remains must be the truth...
Lucah!!! The whole reason Maya was doing the rite in the first place is Mrs. Inmee being pregnant. It was like the first thing Maya told us during the reunion episode.

Again, got to love how hypocritical the people of this country are. They want the rebels dead, but yet despite knowing the high priest is one, they still see him as a good guy.
I mean, it's also them coping the high priest wouldn't be that kinda person as well. The people in that land are the definition of mob mentality

Honestly I love the commitment Ace Attorney has to having the trials rigged against Phoenix specifically. It's a fun way to make the game feel desperate even when the player knows what to do. And the story gets to explore deep topics like blackmail, police corruption, religious bias, and media cancel culture.

They accussed Maya of using spirit channeling to kill, but I feel like it should be a legal loophole, I mean, she literally becomes someone else, Tahrust over there is proof she doesn't have control her own actions, so...
of course their arguement is likely that maya is aware and purposely summonging lady keerah of doing the deeds, since othrwise she wouldn't have a reason to do so.

@@sarafontanini7051 well, you're right, and sadly, not only them but in the Ace Attorney universe there's the constant law of "You can't win the trial if you don't catch the real murderer, regardless of how many evidence proves the accused is innocent"

Puhray Zeh'lot's name now takes on a new meaning now that you know that he was LK. Namely that he's a "pious zealot".

Okay, before you accuse me of being a weirdo, I just noticed something: Tahrust doesn't seem to have nipples. I mean, that's probably for the sake of the game's ESRB rating, since that's also technically Maya's body.
I think it's a Japanese or Chinese thing, not American. Fire Emblem Heroes and other gachas usually take the nipples off of shirtless men.
Could just be an artstyle decision. It's not too uncommon for heavily stylized games to not bother rendering nipples even on male characters; for example, Shulk, Reyn, and Dunban don't have visible nipples in Xenoblade 1 (or Definitive Edition), and neither do Rex in Xenoblade 2 or Noah in Xenoblade 3 (though Zeke apparently at least has areolas).
This entire trial is like the dark prognosticus all over again I’m loving it😂

22:30 The pregnancy was mentioned earlier. It was explained that, while Mrs. Inmee usually plays Lady Keera in the rite, they got Maya to do it this year because it was too much for Mrs. Inmee to handle with her pregnancy.

Tahrust definitely looks... interesting in Maya's body.
The mystery of Lady Kee'ra has been revealed! And it is Puhray Zeh'lot! Just to clear things up, Mrs Inmee is out of the running as Lady Kee'ra because of her pregnancy, therefore she wouldn't be traveling across the country as a highly skilled warrior who can take down trained military men who have been on the run for decades like Datz, and as we saw in the opening cutscene, Lady Kee'ra has an ARM on him. Anime cutscene or no, that counts as something the man himself did. He's 21 so he's in his prime. And the extension of senses from being a big practitioner of Khurai'inism. I think Tahrust is messing with Phoenix about the extension of that, but many famous monks do have a great deal of longevity. Mainly from their lifestyle choices in how they practice.
However Mrs Inmee is unaccounted for at her home, and Tahrust has. My only gripe with this circumstance is that Puhray given all these circumstances should be established as far more bizarre and sooner. All we knew was he changed his name. And now look at what he has become. It feels like it is out of left field because it is aside the threat. Yes he would've been more obvious but you can't have someone with THIS crazy of a lifestyle just being a guy at the scene. That kind of personality has to stick out. And it never really does. I don't want to be so negative about this case, but it just sticks out to me.
The problem is that there’s not enough time in this massive case. The first half of the trial is focused on Tahrust and his murder. And since this trial has a lot of world-building, it’s not enough time to focus on another victim’s many skeletons. Heck, they had to shove Tahrust back into the spotlight, on what’s supposed to be a trial focusing on Puhray. It does, but Maya channeling Tahrust draws more attention than Puhray, so it leaves room to add certain… characteristics.
@@JJ_R Apart of me wishes that Tahrust tells the truth regarding Puhray out the gate, not EVERYTHING but immediately showing him as a threat he’s made out to be. It’s just such serious topics that I just don’t think carry the emotional power they are designed to.
@@Kaempfdog The problem is that Tahrust has to go along with Nahyuta’s assertion of Maya having killed him and Puhray, since he doesn’t know the full details of what everybody else knows, thus the contradictions regarding Puhray’s death. If Tahrust told even one truth regarding Puhray’s character, it might put his wife under the knife.

I presented the Lady Kee'ra document for a similar, yet different reason as Lucah.
The vigilante started acting 2 years ago. Even if the document had her face, she wouldn't have had access to it.
Also, nobody bothered explaining _why_ Maya would summon Lady Kee'ra either.

I think it is better if you rewatched previous videos sometimes you kept forgetting some facts like, Lady Inmee is pregnant.
Tahrust's Kah kiai is now voiced. That makes his rage even scarier. Hell hath no fury like a husband who's wife is being accused of murder.

Wow I really had this entire trial figured out. I guessed literally everything that got revealed. It's pretty certain who the culprit is too so I can say I got that right as well. I had this case pegged. Regardless I'm still going to look forward to seeing this through

25:20 He was close to her and helped her prepare for the rite, so it makes sense he would’ve known that. Like, even if Maya was the only one who knew the actual name itself, the high priest could’ve still, at the very least, known that such information was in there in the first place.
Also, it may just be me, but I’m pretty sure that, if they’re trying to argue here that Maya was the killer, this entire argument would be invalid. Because, it’s one thing to say someone has been DRESSING UP as Lady Keera committing these crimes, but if she channeled the original Lady Keera, then it would literally be a different person committing the crimes. So even though she would’ve been in Maya’s body, Maya wouldn’t have been the one committing the crimes, right?
They might say it was a collaborative murder, the channeler makes the plans, the channeled carrys them out. Treating it like the spirit was a hitman.
They covered this in the original trilogy. Spirit mediums are apparently responsible for the crimes performed during a channeling. The expectation is that they should be able to exorcise the spirit from their body before a crime is allowed to happen.
Besides that, the act of channeling a historical warrior and rebel hunter might’ve been enough to get Maya in trouble. It’s not that different from releasing a dangerous criminal who’s in custody.
This has been one of the most frustrating cases I've seen in the entire series. Nothing at all against Lucah, she's handling it just fine, it's just that this case feels like it gets completely turned on its head every 5 minutes, you have to do so much work just to knock one argument down and when you do you're immediately hit with 20 more, and there's an overarching feeling of hopelessness knowing what the stakes are at this point.

I thought Phoenix was gonna get Inmee there by saying that Maya didn't know Kee'ra's true name until this year when she had to sub in for Beleeb. I don't think you failed upwards there, you just found an alternate route to the truth.
Oh I clearly remember that first testimony making me angry because I thought you had to show how a "haunting silence" was impossible if the crime scene was cleaned afterward. You don't move a stone slab, go get a shovel, return for the body, drag it out, go back in to wipe the blood (that'd make the revolving door sound 1 to 4 times) and all that shabang without making noise. I then took another hit trying to show that there was no argument in the seance, nor did the Abbott mention the plum punisher's theme, all for it to be a "he couldn't have known the loud rock sound he heard meant something heavy crushed the guy". It made me very angry with this entire case, and it's something that just kept happening since the 3D games. I hope future games see what type of stuff players keep presenting wrong and add dialogue to hint at the true contradiction or something...
Also, little spoiler for this case, but for those who know...
The punisher's theme ends up being important to find the real culprit, I just looked too far ahead.

GAA does this better imo. Or rather, it's not written in the way that you get stuck on stuff like this. It does have some annoying moments but they're far fewer than in DD or SoJ.

15:27 I get where Phoenix is coming from with this line of logic, but at the same time, I feel like if the high priest was the killer, even if he did slip up in his testimony, he wouldn’t have worded it as, “Poor Zeh’lot.” I don’t think a killer would make a slip of the tongue with such remorseful words; I feel like they’d word it that way if they were completely lying and feigning ignorance.

That's why he knew about the lady keera thing. He's the one who asked Maya to do it. He always has this thing about Lady Keera since he's the high priest and he only gives it to the person playing lady keera. That means he gave it to her himself. So yeah, you were thinking "why does he know that ?" but of course he knows : he's in charge of the whole thing. It would be weird if he didn't know that. Actually, I may be wrong about the next detail but I think even Rayfa knew that Lady Keera's true name was writen in that thing.
I CALLED IT! I had a bad vibe from that character from the very beginning.

It's Trial 3 syndrome: in trying to raise the stakes or force an emotional plot twist, logic is thrown out the window. See any Phoenix Wright (or danganronpa) game.

God, time and time again I have been completely turned on my head in the span of a single episode. I was also so caught up on Tarust not bringing up the Plumed Punisher theme in the hideout and that was apparently a nothing burger I'd been eating all along. This is why I don't play these games and let you take me through the incredible experience instead I guess!

You know, the first time I played through this game I really didn't like Nahyuta's personality up to this point in the game, but watching it this time around, for some reason I'm kinda digging him (the con rant stream of putrid aside, I still hate that).

Dude I'm getting kinda sick of seeing Nahyuta's face at this point. Every time the camera pans to him he's either giving some blatantly wrong half truth or hurling pointless insults. Nothing that's come out of his mouth is ever insightful or important, just annoying.
He might be my least favorite prosecutor. He's so bad at his job! I wish at least that the Japanifornian judge would call him out on it.

Considering what happens later in the game, I’m inclined to think channeling someone also gives Maya their tattoos.
@@Keihzaru No, remember that when Maya channels Mia, she gets the mole on her face as well. So markings and other things from the spirit's body would be channeled to her body. The only things she keeps are hair and clothing

Let me explain the retcon here in the previous games maya channeled only two people those being mia here sister and dahlia a person that she has never in met her life how would she know here face if she never met here, and also the previous games never mentioned that she needs the face to channel spirits so it was an addiction to this game that became a retcon as stated before in the previous statement.
Maya did meet Dahlia… when she was almost killed by her in Bridge to the Turnabout. As for the name, it’s neither confirmed nor denied that Dahlia told Maya her name, so it’s possible Maya knew both the name & face.
@@JJ_R your correct that she met her problem at the time maya who'd though that's was iris trying to kill her over a person that she doesn't know and second turner grey never gave a picture of mimi to maya to channel her and if he did whe would found it as evidence but we never did.
@@109news8 Mimi was on a tabloid magazine after her “death”, which Maya told Phoenix she read. Her face would be there, since there were allegations that Dr. Grey killed her.
And as for Dahlia, she strikes me as the kind who would drop the act when killing someone. Considering her hatred towards Mia, I feel like Dahlia would tell Maya exactly who’s killing her. However, I have no proof of this, so take it as you will.
@@JJ_R correct in black and white with her eyes shut you can definitely see what she looks like. Last point i would like to make that the faces works with mia and tahrust cause she new them for a very long and she definitely could reconstruct there faces in her mind because of longevity of knowing those people while with dahlia she never properly met her knowing who she is as stated before she fought iris was trying to kill her and yes mia could have told Maya of dahlia earlier but there not really a reason for maya to remember her face. (no maya does not have a photographic memory)
@@109news8 Considering Maya told Dr. Grey that she would only channel Mimi if he got Phoenix to come along, it’s safe to say they met to discuss some of the particulars. Also, at a hospital, there’d need a database on employees, including Mimi. Even without the tabloid piece, Dr. Grey could’ve provided a detailed photo of her, taken from a former I.D card. Why else would Phoenix have a profile with Mimi’s hair color?
Even if it’s not a photographic memory, I’m sure Maya would be traumatized enough by someone trying to kill her, that she would remember her would-be killer’s face.
Now I don't know how long the next part is gonna be, but if it's long enough, then all i'm gonna say is this: Ya'll are gonna be sad
