I’m glad that Link isn’t a teacher or professor. He would tell you how your research paper was pretty good and how he can tell you tried really hard and then give you a 30/100.

I haven't noticed the trend, but he is crazy this episode and the score chart certainly didn't help.
This episode he was actually kinda consistent the first third and then everything went down hill
So that they will keep putting his face on there. Looking at himself and listening to himself talk is his favorite past time

Like you’re not even in his place, you’re not playing the game yourself, you’re not invited and they don’t know you exist, but you still believe you have the absolute right to decide how HE rates HIS experience. A situation you literally don’t exist in, but somehow you know his body more than him. You’re so knowledgeable, intuitive, clever and gifted that you know him more than he knows himself. You know everything to the point that you get to decide the correct way he rates something he’s going through personally, more than him. Impressive.

I'm pretty sure Link thinks Piña means coconut, but it just means pineapple. He incepted himself into hating pineapple by telling himself it was coconut.
Or he (subconsciously or not) thinks it's piña colada flavour

I came here to say this.
I can’t believe Link convinced himself that there was coconut in the pineapple one. Therefore he didn’t like it.
I think they should stop telling them the flavors included in each one and just go with the flavor alone, not a preconceived notion of what they think it is and then using that to rate with.

Have you tried this without telling them the flavors ahead of the tasting? I feel like sometimes knowing what it is influences their expectations and, in turn, their experiences.

It’s been a while since this Link has shown up. He’s gotten better with his rankings but once you bring in something Link has a history with, he doesn’t go with how much he actually likes it, he goes with what he thinks it should taste like

@@katrose5179 No, a gut reaction is experiencing something and deciding if it's good or bad immediately with no emotional or logical reasoning behind it. What link is doing is thinking "oh this has x in it, I don't like x because of this one instance in my past. Therefore I don't like this thing." The whole Pina Pineapple round illustrated this exactly: link originally liked it and scored it highly before he knew there was coconut in it. That was the real gut reaction. But then during the last bit he discovered there was coconut in it and immediately said he hated it.

Yall should not tell them the flavors until after tasting all and surprise them with what they got. A lot of it is based on expectation and not the overall taste. Especially on links end.
Just want to make it clear that Koolaid Man is Cherry flavored, which is the original Koolaid Flavor
Of course Mango is the best. Because Mangos are somehow able to be re created in products really well to still taste like mangos.
Personally though for the original flavors I still like Tropical Punch
Also that piña Kool Aid doesn’t have any coconut flavoring and it’s really odd that suddenly Link tasted coconut that wasn’t there

They need to give their scores immediately after tasting and then be allowed time to discuss. Them talking about it first alters their opinion.

Link needs to start thinking of scoring based on 1-10 instead of 1-100 it confuses him too much, so for example he tastes something ranks it a 7 then converts that to a 70 and then if he want to go more specific between 70-80 he can. Its just so weird how he says something is average and ranks it below a 50 which would be average. Links *average* is like 30

Growing up we used to have grape kool-aid and frozen lemonade mixed for a great summer drink. I see a lot of comments saying Link should go first but I think the way to make it more fair is to write it on a whiteboard and both show it. That way no one can change their scores based on the other.
Someone should make Rhett a super fancy version of Links chart and send it to them.

I did the same thing! Grape and tropical punch was my other favorite combo.
That was a great flavor as well. Throwback to the 80’s. I have bought the zero sugar packets for water bottles at Walmart within the last year or so. Pretty good, but not as good as mixing it traditionally.

Ear Biscuits clears it up a bit, their roles on the show are reversed from their personalities. In life, Rhett is much more focused and doing things fully and Link is more live and let live/onward and upward.

Probably colored with all of those banned or restricted food dyes in most other places in the world except the US. I grew up on it though so I'm probably like .01% like godzilla from the radiation which is neat.
