He reminds me so much of Heath Ledger. Both insecure, looking for versatile roles that they think they couldn't play and incredible actors, no doudt...
Absolutely. They are so much alike in so many ways. Similar career paths (from popular Teenie movies, rom coms and Blockbusters to indie and arthouse or just weird productions/challenging roles), similar acting styles (both are not method actors, both are extremely dedicated to their roles), both extremely versatile (and intense) actors, both are extremely talented and interested in other arts than acting (Heath was into photography and film making, Rob is an excellent singer/musician), both have very supportive and loving families (and in Rob's case also longtime friends) and their personalities are so much alike too. Like you said: both are so insecure, always doubting themselves, both are introverts (and quite shy at times), both are very humble, extremely friendly and nice, very charming (without trying to be), dedicated to their roles and acting as an art. They are very private people (with a deep aversion to the press - that made their lives hell at times), Rob hates too much attention and has quite an aversion to fame in general - and so did Heath. They never thought about themselves as being someone "special" (although they have both that special "something", charisma). Both don't really fit into the usual Hollywood crowd. And last but not least: both remained very "normal", authentic, genuine, down-to-earth people (not behaving like celebs in general), they didn't change, they remained the exact same persons they were before they became famous and were so insanely successful. I will never forget all these normal people from Heath's NYC neighbourhood who had so many (and only nice) stories to tell about him (nobody said a bad word about him) and who were genuinely shocked and sad when he died. Everyone seemed to like him (Heath as a person, not as a celeb) - very much so. (When I first came to NYC I went to his apartment a few months after his death, just to light a candle and put some flowers there. When I arrived there.... There were a lot of new candles and fresh flowers there, people still went to his apartment months after his death in order to remember him and to express their condolences.) Rob's the same. He's has no airs and graces, no ego. Although Rob has social anxiety (and body dysorphia) he lives quite a wholesome (and healthy) life, has a great family and friends, he isn't a troublemaker or into drugs. He learned to deal with his anxiety, not letting it take control. Unfortunately poor Heath had to battle more severe mental health problems - depression and insomnia. Until this day I still don't understand how the only thing his doctors did, the only help they gave him, was prescribing him pills, not even checking what other stuff he got prescribed from other doctors. The most tragic thing is that his death really was preventable. That this amazing actor and likeable person could still be alive. Honestly, a few times I thought about how effing incredible it would be if Rob and Heath - these insanely gifted and outstanding actors - could both be in one movie together. I love how honest and unpretentious he is! You don't see much of that in Hollywood. I had the pleasure of a conversation with him a few months ago (long story, believe it or don't) and he's incredibly down to earth (preferred to talk about my life rather than his own). I hope he gets everything from his life and career that he desires - he deserves every bit of it! Btw, I thought all of his accents were on point, including his southern twang (as a southerner, I thought it was awesomely unique and made the character even creepier)
His acting in the king was truly amazing. His character comes off as this comedic French bully who just wants to get under king Henry’s skin but in certain scenes I actually felt a sense of intimidation and genuine fear from his character until the very end when you realize there’s actually nothing truly intimidating about him just a guy who just wants to defend his country and and was brought up to war when he knew damn well his country didn’t even start it. Roberts acting truly shined in that film.
Seriously after one look at his filmography, there’s no doubt he can pull it off. Then there’s his approach towards acting which can do wonders when you least expect it (or when even he least expects it)
I came out of this video with so much more respect for Rob. Also, the part about going to the pub after failing an audition really hit. Just really loving what you’re doing and having fun with it for what it is and not based on what it can get you
"Water For Elephants" Came Out Before Twilight Saga Ended and Was a Great Studio Film for him. It's What Made Me and My Family (When We Saw It) Take Him More Seriously As An Actor.
God I love Robert. He's one of the most down to earth and beautiful actors that the industry has witnessed. When he said that he wants to make movies that makes people go "yeah that's my favourite movie", that couldn't be anymore true. Lighthouse is one of my favourite movies, and the emotion that Rob brings out in it is raw and real. He's something else
Yeah me too. I casually rewatched the movies as I often do but this time I really got into it so I read the new twilight book (it was the best experience of my whole life haha) and then I read the 4 original books as well for the first time. I got so obsessed it’s embarassing.
Someone should make a movie about his life - fascinating person (mysterious, complex, charismatic and undeniably handsome!), cool career choices and some great twist and turns. A real star!
The amount of research that went into this video, and the resulting amount of detail (like inserting the pics you’re talking about) and precision really has my inner OCD purring with satisfaction. Great job sir!
He is legit one of the best actors of the 21st century, I knew that before this video, but after this video he may deserve even more praise than that. Pattison is gonna be the best Batman yet.
I've never been able to understand Robert's career but now I respect him more as a person and performer thank u for this enlightening video. Also I loved how rob said twilight didnt make sense cuz they were 100 years old and could've been doing so much more than living with thier adopted parents and going to high school over and over again.
He's the most humble celebrity ever . I've never seen someone of his calibre be so insecure of himself . I really love him. He's the best. I hate people who think he'll be a bad batman . He'll prove everybody wrong one day ! I hope he becomes the greatest actor ever . I wish him greatest success in life . A special mention for this video , the maker of this video is a good person as he chose to ignore Rob's love life and see him beyond it 😀

I was enamored by "The Batman" that I watched it a second time and realised, I didn't come back just for the movie but for Rob. I wanted to see him transform and conquer the bashing and doubts everyone had against him (including myself) and relish in his endearing success. He is a wonder boi. Also, I very much enjoyed watching your video :) thank u.
The Batman is the first movie I've *ever* been to watch in a theater more than once, and a large part of that was Pattinson's acting. There was so much talent in his face, the micro-expressions in his eyes and jaw, and his body language. In that interview in this video where he says he wants his movie to be just one person's absolute favorite... I think The Batman came very close for me.
I’m so sorry, I remember I watched a video with this title last Year. But the updated thumbnail with new Rob’s photoshoot made me think this account is a time traveller for a second 😭
Enjoyed your perspective on Robert Pattinson. He has indeed grown into an amazing and incredibly talented actor in any role he takes on. Always better than he realizes, and gets better with age. I particularly like his gracious and humble personality. I look forward to whatever he continues to give us.
He’s a great actor, so underrated, etc. But did anyone else fucking lost it when he told that story about the little girl who asked him to bite her, like that shit was hilarious😂😂😂
I really like his choices, and think he is a very talented actor. His ability to morph into each character with a perfect accent. Again this was a excellent journey of Robert Pattinson movie roles with a honest view through Robert's eyes and through his final vision of each performance.
I've every faith Rob is going to have all the nay sayers regarding Batman eating their words... The majority of them still think of him as the vampire having not seen what he's being doing in recent years. Daniel Radcliffe similarly has suffered and still does as just "the wizard" by the wider public that tend to watch mostly big budget film. Great stuff Jake, I was surprised by this topic for some reason but you've nailed it again
I’ve never watched a movie starring Robert Pattinson before The Batman, i just knew him from twilight thinking he was the good looking guy, now i’m looking forward to watch all of his works, even the first twilight.
Thank you for this wonderful portrait of my favorite actor, Rob Pattinson. I’ve loved him since the beginning of his career, and it’s great to see him finally get the notice and respect he deserves. I love his humility and goofy sense of humor, and you did a great job showing both. 👍
I love your videos man, I know sometimes your videos don’t get the recognition that they deserve for the time and effort that you put into them but just know that there are people that love watching them
Yes, he doesn't like to use his own real voice and accent for his characters, even if some of his characters are British (like him) he still modifies his voice and dialect.
"Everyone's supposed to be an 'activist' or whatever as an actor. But I didn't become an actor to be a politician, I became an actor to do interesting movies." I love this quote, because Rob *gets* it. He gets the fact that most people *don't* want to be preached at and told what to think or how to feel. He understands (and wants other people to understand) that he's just a human being. He comes off like the *least* 'celebrity-like" celebrity, because he seems to just want to do his job and at the end of the day go on about his life, until the next opportunity comes along. I also like the fact that he seems to thrive off of people's lowered expectations of him, because he's sure been proving them wrong with his work the last nine years. He's *earned* the role of Batman, and I hope he crushes it so he can continue to prove his detractors wrong. And if the teaser trailer is the little bit we have to go by so far, he's well on his way.
Kinda glad they cut that scene in Vanity Fair. Robert and Reese play love interest in Water For Elephants. It would be really weird from protraying son and mom to love interest in another.
The amount of work you put in your videos is commendable. Hope you make more videos like this on more actors and actresses. Thank you RUclips for the recommendation.
I always wrote him off as the twilight guy, but boy was I wrong. He's quickly becoming my favorite actor. I watched him in Tenet and the Lighthouse, very good.
Paul Newman was one of those type of actors who wasn't sure what to do when it came to certain roles, even when he done Road to Perdition. There are some actors who're crazy and/or love themselves and then there's actors who learn their lines and try their best.
I'm not embarrassed to say that I actually enjoy Robert Patterson as an actor. Well, in just about every movie after the Twilight series. He's truly a good actor.
I'm 29 years old and i remember being a 16 year old film nerd in 2008 and being like, mate, fuck Robert Pattinson, shit actor who is just good looking. If you told me back then that in 13 years time he will be one of my favourite actors working today i would have told you to fuck right off. The depth and range he brings out in his characters is just outstanding, The Rover, Lost City of Z, Good Time, The Lighthouse (Good Time & Lighthouse now in my top 20 of all time), The Devil All The Time, Tenet. Absolutely brilliant performances. I have no doubt in my mind that he could become the best Batman we have seen on film. Pattinson vs Dano. I cannot wait, I hope i'm alive by the time it comes out.
I absolutely love this video! Its was so nice to just watch and reminisce Robert Pattinson's progress through the years, its also so refreshing that an actor like rob exists; he is sooo talented and has so much versatility with his roles and he doesn't even know how amazing he is, which is actually what keeps him to only keep getting better and better. this video also made me so emotional because it made me fall in love with him more; even though there are still lots of things we dont know about him since he is a celebrity, you can still really tell how real and genuine rob is. I am too thankful that he exists and that this video exists.
His performance in The Devil All the Time made it difficult for me to see him as anything but that hate-able character for a whole week. Good Time is his best performance IMO.
he was my first crush and when as i grew up i realize how shitty the series were. then i found out that he hates it. it definitely made me believe that he has so much more talent than that. his recent roles has let him explore many of his hidden talents. looking forward to future masterpieces from him.
This so well put together! Thank you. I’ve not seen twilight, but I’ve seen quite a lot of his other films and I’m impressed every time. Like you, my first time seeing him was in Harry Potter and he’s so talented. I look forward to what he has coming. I also look forward to watching more of your RUclips videos, you’re very gifted
By the way people should know the way he acted in twilight was great BECAUSE that's how Edward (his character) was written. So yeah the story and everything might be stupid even his character but he portrayed it so good.
It does feel like the whole series monkey's paw'd itself into existence after someone wished Hollywood made a source accurate adaptation of a book series after seeing one too many bad ones. Looking at YOU, Eragon!
I love how he does supporting roles. Like you have no idea that it's him until after you've watched it. Then when it comes to you....your like holy shit that was him. I think the fact that he's so modest or insecure about his obvious talent makes me respect him all the more.
Patterson is extremely talented and maximised his exposure when he was cast in Harry potter, that set his stage, and he has proven time and time again he can cover big roles small roles and at the same time shed his Harry potter and Twilight roots, you forget Patterson but always remember his characters.
Great video journey about Robert's career to date! Enjoyed reading all the great comments! Thanks be to Robert Pattinson for making this all possible! Stay true, passionate in mind body an soul Rob! All the best... truly!

Does he look even better in person.
I love the fact that his “relationships” are not talked about in this video, this is strictly about Robert alone, thank you for that, 🙏🏾!
hear, hear.
Batman was so good. He’s gonna be seen with so much more respect now
“The look of depression behind a charming smile.”
I always wondered why I have such a weird affinity towards Robert pattinson lol
I love how he went from "Idk, maybe I am not done for acting" to "I love this movie, Imma write to producers/directors and get a role with them"
@The Truth v Brendan Fraser he didn't, for the quotation marks it is just to make it easy to read
I love that movie
I haven't watched it because of the botched inaccurcy but I would love to see his performance, especially the accent.
after this video i really belive he will portray a good bruce wayne
Seriously after one look at his filmography, there’s no doubt he can pull it off. Then there’s his approach towards acting which can do wonders when you least expect it (or when even he least expects it)
he’s super talented watch the lighthouse
well good is an understatement
Can’t wait for Battinson
it's really sad he's strongly associated with twilight. he's so much more than edward cullen. the lighthouse is superbly intense movie
I came out of this video with so much more respect for Rob. Also, the part about going to the pub after failing an audition really hit. Just really loving what you’re doing and having fun with it for what it is and not based on what it can get you
He never let the fame rule his mind..
He is so down to earth...
Anyone else just rewatch Twilight during lockdown and fall inlove with Robert Pattinson all over again? Just me?? okay
THIS IS LITERALLY ME LOL except i watched it for the first time
Watched all twilight during lockdown, then watched again. And again, I’ve memorized every line by now. Hahahahaha
@@totaloutlanderobsession8013 no same- now i wanna watch it again
Yeah me too. I casually rewatched the movies as I often do but this time I really got into it so I read the new twilight book (it was the best experience of my whole life haha) and then I read the 4 original books as well for the first time. I got so obsessed it’s embarassing.
@@Zakarias78 it’s been 2 weeks since i watched the movie but i’m still obsessed haha
His Batman portrayal is just amazing. Great actor indeed. He already achieved a lot as an actor but remains humble and kept his feet on the ground.
Who’s here after finally watching The Batman & Robert Pattinson absolutely kill it?
I was never really there for Robert Pattinson, but the moment I heard he was cast as Batman, I already knew he fit that part.
I've never been able to understand Robert's career but now I respect him more as a person and performer thank u for this enlightening video. Also I loved how rob said twilight didnt make sense cuz they were 100 years old and could've been doing so much more than living with thier adopted parents and going to high school over and over again.
Let Robertson be the emo Batman the world wants him to be !!!
The lighthouse is so damn good. My favourite
A special mention for this video , the maker of this video is a good person as he chose to ignore Rob's love life and see him beyond it 😀
I am Robert Pattinson’s anxiety
Bless u child
I am Roberts inflamed sense of rejection
To anyone who hasn’t seen Good Time yet I highly recommend that film
I have met Rob. He is an absolute chill dude.
howd u meet him?
@@aramkk5 okay imma leave my shoes here, cause i wanna know too
the listening party is growing.
tell us
@@aramkk5 Was out at a bar years ago for my brother's bday. He was there with some friends. Said hello and chatted for a few minutes. Super laid back and was just out with some buddies so I didn't bother him beyond that lol
@@synonym1196 i completely relate to this comment, that one person’s favourite comment by Rob spoke to me a lot too
I’m so sorry, I remember I watched a video with this title last Year.
Lol
I really like his choices, and think he is a very talented actor. His ability to morph into each character with a perfect accent. Again this was a excellent journey of Robert Pattinson movie roles with a honest view through Robert's eyes and through his final vision of each performance.
Anyone doubting if he will be a good Batman need to watch The Lost City of Z, Good Time, The King, The Lighthouse and Tenet, he is a brilliant actor
and especially the devil all the time. probably his best performance if not THE best performance in a film in the past 10 years
I've every faith Rob is going to have all the nay sayers regarding Batman eating their words...
Your faith paid off!! The Batman was amazing!
He is geniuos! Not only as an actor but also as a singer his voice has tones so captivating I can listen to all day long.
this quarantining is starting to make me feel like rob in the lighthouse.
• “a video I never knew I needed” - every jake video •
I’ve never watched a movie starring Robert Pattinson before The Batman, i just knew him from twilight thinking he was the good looking guy, now i’m looking forward to watch all of his works, even the first twilight.
Thank you for this wonderful portrait of my favorite actor, Rob Pattinson. I’ve loved him since the beginning of his career, and it’s great to see him finally get the notice and respect he deserves. I love his humility and goofy sense of humor, and you did a great job showing both. 👍
14:57 "but he carries himself like a wounded war victim. No one look at me i need to go from A to B. "🤣🤣🤣🤣 Perfect description of Rob
This guy is so inspirational.
Rob's acting range is incredible & he's so humble, relatable & goofy. 😆
I love your videos man, I know sometimes your videos don’t get the recognition that they deserve for the time and effort that you put into them but just know that there are people that love watching them
Great Video! I think it's fantastic how every Pattinson character has a different voice and accent.
Yes, he doesn't like to use his own real voice and accent for his characters, even if some of his characters are British (like him) he still modifies his voice and dialect.
"Everyone's supposed to be an 'activist' or whatever as an actor. But I didn't become an actor to be a politician, I became an actor to do interesting movies."
I love this quote, because Rob *gets* it.
And if he hadn’t been cut from vanity fair he never would have tried out for twilight!!!!
HE WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN IN HARRY POTTER TOOOO!!,
Wtf this channel is so underrated
Yeah he makes great videos
wtf i don't think anyones underrating this channel. maybe you're saying he deserves a greater audience.
Anyone else notice Lizzie Pattinson had credits for playing some of theme songs for twilight series. ???
The amount of work you put in your videos is commendable. Hope you make more videos like this on more actors and actresses. Thank you RUclips for the recommendation.
I always wrote him off as the twilight guy, but boy was I wrong. He's quickly becoming my favorite actor. I watched him in Tenet and the Lighthouse, very good.
Im really happy for him , glad he’s still relevant and getting his credit
Paul Newman was one of those type of actors who wasn't sure what to do when it came to certain roles, even when he done Road to Perdition. There are some actors who're crazy and/or love themselves and then there's actors who learn their lines and try their best.
I'm not embarrassed to say that I actually enjoy Robert Patterson as an actor. Well, in just about every movie after the Twilight series. He's truly a good actor.
LOVE the EDITING
you are really a great documentarist. i love how you come around the topics and give me a deeper understanding of who you are covering.
Hes such a class actor, Willem dafoe may have been the standout star in the lighthouse, but i fully believe Pattinson held his own
GREAT VIDEO DUDE, Love the expansion into film, you’re really good at it! These videos are getting better and better
man that thumbnail aged so well
dang idk why but none of the voices match his voice.. like he's perfect
I am too thankful that he exists and that this video exists.
criminal that you didn't include the cinematic masterpiece that is "robert pattinson desperately needs a new york hot dog"
His best work I said what I said
I'm one of those who thought he shouldn't be Batman when I first heard. But once I saw that trailer it changed everything. It
It?
I think batman got to him guys😐
For anyone who haven't seen 'The Rover', I seriously implore you to watch it.
Pattinson and Pearce are phenomenal in it.
His performance in The Devil All the Time made it difficult for me to see him as anything but that hate-able character for a whole week.
Good Time is his best performance IMO.
I hope the algorithm blows this up. Great work, man!
this man was breaking at the end of twilight
he was my first crush and when as i grew up i realize how shitty the series were. then i found out that he hates it. it definitely made me believe that he has so much more talent than that. his recent roles has let him explore many of his hidden talents. looking forward to future masterpieces from him.
Great analysis of Robert as an actor and as a person. You obviously know what you are talking about. This was a pleasure.
Goodtime was brilliant!! Never watched any of his other movies.
But A24 makes fire.
Gave it a chance & was an instant fan
This so well put together! Thank you. I’ve not seen twilight, but I’ve seen quite a lot of his other films and I’m impressed every time. Like you, my first time seeing him was in Harry Potter and he’s so talented. I look forward to what he has coming. I also look forward to watching more of your RUclips videos, you’re very gifted
not seen twilight? done yourself a favor, you have
By the way people should know the way he acted in twilight was great BECAUSE that's how Edward (his character) was written.
3:20
I’ve heard some of his music. “Let me sign” is actually rly good
Wow, 10/10 video from start to finish.
He’s an incredible actor
Trust me, Robert Pattinson will blow up when he gets to showcase his incredible acting skills as our new great Batman.
Patterson is extremely talented and maximised his exposure when he was cast in Harry potter, that set his stage, and he has proven time and time again he can cover big roles small roles and at the same time shed his Harry potter and Twilight roots, you forget Patterson but always remember his characters.
The Celebrity Land intro is so good! You are great at visual storytelling Jake! 👏🏼
Finally watched this and loved it! Such an interesting analysis x
"I didn't become an actor to be a politician, I became an actor to do interesting movies."
RP
Rob has played a role in every movie ever
oh?
My favorite actor alongside dicaprio! Great video my man really interesting to watch!🤩👌🏻
Well done, You killed it. Loved him in Tenet.
Great video journey about Robert's career to date! Enjoyed reading all the great comments! Thanks be to Robert Pattinson for making this all possible! Stay true, passionate in mind body an soul Rob! All the best... truly!
Thank you for making this, I never knew he was a down to earth person who cared about the art over "celebrity", after watching this I will definitely go back through his catalogue and check out some of his less popular films......Not to mention I'm into fashion and my man can dress his A.s off!
