The Pulse version is way better :) a lot more energy to the performance. :)x
Pink Floyd is legendary..the Pulse version is better, with that said, there are really no bad tracks from Floyd.
Sorry But I think. The Best versión Is from The Delicate Sound of Thunder ( to me of course)
@@absolutum_magnus Agreed. DOST version is the ultimate one for me. Pulse goes a bit over the top at some places, and yes, that goes Comfortably Numb too if not especially for Comfortably Numb. There are no redundant bars in the DOST version of CN, the solo is just more tastefully crafted, it has a better progression, to my taste.
@@DrittAdrAtta i prefer the Pulse version because it goes over the top with a big ommmph. This is the first time i listened to sorrow Dsot, and this have so many interesting sounds. and yes seems to have better progression
should have watched the pulse version it's way more powerful
I'm inclined to agree. As much as I love this version, I think hearing it from the 94 Pulse concert is a better experience.
you can feel the gilmour's guitar rumbling through the friggin tv at his intro and outro richard, something else his set up at that concert@@richardthresh3587
The best way to listen to The Floyd is at a concert. The second best way is to lay down in a darkened room with your best head phones on.
Thanks! Pink Floyd is one of my most favorite groups and I am so happy to see you enjoy them too.
Very sweet! Thank you so much!! See you later today! 🤗💟🌺🎶
Nice version from the 1987 tour when they first went out after Roger Waters left, the 1994 Pulse Tour version is even tighter. Every Pink Floyd tour was an experience and worth seeing. Also of note, if you want to see a younger version of the band with the classic lineup, do Echoes, Live at Pompeii, Parts 1 & 2. That performance in the middle of an ancient Roman Colloseum, playing to their crew and the thousands of souls lost when Mt Vesuvius erupted 2,000 years ago. It will blow your mind, sometimes the video is in 2 parts because it originally opened and closed that concert documentary movie. That movie is an absolute must see/hear when you can. Please, more Pink Floyd! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
imagine them all playing this for another seven years and developing massaging for the unbelievable 94 pulse live, remastered and re edited...watch it even if you dont react to it.
Finally, an actual live live performance, you can actually hear what they sound like unlike the pulse concert footage which has been played with and are re-edited and remastered to sound perfect, I was at Earl's Court and remember it like this, brilliant as the remastered version is there is a reason.
David Gilmour is a perfect example of you don't need to be fast to be amazing
amazing guitar rifts and drums as well...strong voice and understand the words so important...
My very favorite Floyd song... great job!
This version was a nice change if pace. David workin on them clear high notes very nicely.
Check out the Pulse version as others mentioned.
Loved this though!
David's guitar has always sang as much as David himself. Probably more. If you want a good example, I'd recommend Fat Old Sun from Atom Heart Mother which came out in 1970. The beauty of the lyrics and David's voice is amped up to 10 by the guitar solo. It's overwhelmingly beautiful.
It would be best to start with the studio version in my opinion.
You should react to Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon... The FULL ALBUM in one sitting! Possibly the best whole album experience ever recorded!
You do not need drugs to appreciate the masterpiece of range they provide.
I did many drugs (LSD, PCP, KETAMINE, MDMA, ETC/ but appreciate the music now with over 22 years clean.
I saw PF at RFK, in D.C during the summer of 1988, and at 17 I was doing no drugs at this point but my God, they were AMAZING....
You're still hopped up on goofballs. You just hallucinate and imagine you haven't been taking drugs for 22 years. You're a drug zombie under the bridge with Matt Foley. I'm just kidding. I don't care about you at all. Just breath . . .
SORROW LIVE PULSE IS THE BEST VERSION ...EPIC SOLO
There are number of different live versions of this song. Pulse is amazing of course, and my favourite is from the 2016 show in Pompeii. But this must have been one of the first. In hindsight we can see how rusty these guys are at playing live after a few years off. I then got to see them a couple of times in Sydney in 1988 where they warmed up a bit more for the rest of the Momentary Lapse tour. But all of that was just a training run for what was to come a few years later!
This particular show was recorded for an MTV special and has never been officially released. Dave Gilmour was never happy with the overall performance (believing the band to be under-rehearsed) and instead recorded another set of shows much later in the tour, released as a film and album called 'Delicate Sound of Thunder'. Another great track from 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' is "The Dogs of War" which not only has some great guitar work, but includes a great mullet!
Listen to this on pulse tour 1994!
Great version of this song I'd never heard before. Glad to enjoy it with you. You get it.
BTW welcome to the 70's all the music you been listening to lately i grew up on.
I was there , With Pink Floyd it's a different experience !!!
Pink Floid were always great composers and great musicians.
i was at their AMLOR tour before pulse of which the same setup was used, and this was awesome, its a show stopper, you just feel amazed and overwhelmed and that you have seen something special, true control of a guitar, this is said to be Gilmours favourite guitar solo to play and that he created, said by him!
Haunting. One of my favorite live songs, and that's saying something.
Best band in the world and a gorgeous host what more do we need ❤️❤️❤️ long live the good things in life
If you get chance give the pulse version of this a try Gilmours sound is insane on it
I believe the Grapes of Wrath was the inspiration for this masterpiece
One of my favorite Pink Floyd albums Momentary Lapse of Reason
One of my favorites from PF. So, you back in the states now?
On ne coupe jamais un solo de guitare. Bon sang, c'est dingue cette manie.
🇨🇦 Maggie, you could spend your entire life reacting to all the Original music created around the World, in those 3 decades from 1959 - 1989 and still not hear all of them !
This is how we (the Boomers) influenced music for decades to come !
This is one of those songs where Gilmour's solo method is clear. First he sings a guitar solo, then he plays them when writing.
The "long" instrumental parts of Pink Floyd indeed succeed in accentuating the few lyrics, or even enhancing them.
As an example, let's compare two songs of approximately 23 minutes each from the same decade:
Pink Floyd, Echoes (year 1971): contains only 193 words of lyrics for a 23 ½ minutes song, or 8.2 words per minute.
Genesis, Supper's Ready (year 1972):contains a total of 952 words of lyrics for a 23 minutes song, or 41.4 words per minute.
La versione dal live PULSE è migliore 🔝🔝🔝
❤
Yeah Go Rachel Fury !!!
Hmmm, yep, you really did the wrong version here. The '94 Pulse version is the MUST listen... go to version!
Sing to me Angfel face. ❤😂
David Gilmour is a guitar master.
Gilmour. Just Phenomenal.....
Try the 1994 "Pulse" version of this song and "Run like Hell"
I think the solo on this particular performance is the best of his on this song. There are other performances, later, where the intro and outer I like a bit better. But it's splitting hairs. The more you listen to his solos, the more you can hear these little changes, night in and night out. The structure is always the same, but he bends the notes differently. They're all perfect in their own way though.
That's why I prefer concerts over studio tracks although some swear by studio tracks only. Also, because it is a concert with no real constraint on time, the solos can be longer than studio tracks.
@@michaelsxr7442 yeah I saw him perform live on the Division Bell tour, and more recently in 2016. I have watched and listened soooo many times. But I had never previously noticed all the subtle differences. Some arenMt even all that subtle.
Super lady ❤️
Should definitely check out
HIM - It’s All Tears (live 1998)
E respondendo a sua pergunta,o o círculo com luzes e a marca registrada deles , quando você ver esse círculo saiba que são eles
A versão do show de 1994 é muito melhor, os lasers se fundem a guitarra dele , é muito legal 👍🏾
,👍❤️❤️
you should have done the version of this song at pulse by PF best ever
do To The Hellfire.
Guaranteed make your jaw dropped.
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
I’m not quite sure after watching several of your reactions- do you like yourself talking or singing more than the reaction to the sog? Lawd.
Cool song, but the Pulse version is so much better. It's hard to listen to this one after hearing the other so many times.
Others from Pink Floyd to check out:
Echoes (Live at Pompeii, 1971)
A Saucerful of Secrets (Live at Pompeii, 1971)
Time (Pulse, 1994)
Run Like Hell (Pulse, 1994)
High Hopes (David Gilmour - Live in Gdansk, 2006)
Echoes (David Gilmour - Live in Gdansk, 2006)
Their Pulse concert version is much better.
Hi Maggie, if you love Nightwish (Floor) And Epica (Simone) And Within Temptation (Sharon) YOU MUST CHECKOUT: Ayreon !!!! Begin with: The Day That The World Breaks Down - The Source (2017) You will see Floor And Simone and 9 other singers in one song of 13 min. long !!! After this do : Ayreon - Everybody Dies (Ayreon Universe) LIVE ! ft. Also Floor ! Its Prog. metal / Rock of an other level ! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👍
Because pulse is the bench mark it wasn’t going to live up to that version but still good regardless 👍
If you like electric guitar try Edgar Winter group
Nice reaction! As cool as this version is, though, this sounds like a soundcheck when compared to the PULSE tour version. It just feels much less filled out in terms of the soundscape. Still fantastic though.
What mannerism for a reaction.
best version " Pulse 1994"or David Gilmour solo " Live at Pompeii" this is by far the worst one to play.. ' lyrics sound so sad" Dah ! hence the title " Sorrow" Roger leaving the band do to his living in the past.
pulse version is better.
I guess I didn't take enough drugs to appreciate Pink Floyd. Lots did, tho.
They make great music, period, full 🛑 You definitely don’t need drugs to love their music. I was 9 years old when my oldest brother brought home the Dark Side of the Moon album. I was mesmerized by it then and still am today 40+ years later. The way the Time guitar solo soars like nothing else!! Pure beauty to the ears!!
@@bobespirit2112 I still have Dark Side of the Moon record and love the LP cover. It was my brother's. I heard it with him as a kid. But he over-dosed on 8balls and died, so I haven't listened to it since his crackhead funeral. I did like that song about the angry kids hating teachers for trying to help students not be stupid, but I was only 7 then, so of course I felt that was cool. The rest of their "music" was synthesizer robot sounds.
@@Billy-zv6gv I’m really sorry about your brother and clearly that’s tainted your memory of their music. At the base, there music, like the song Sorrow, is generally heavy, soulful, bluesy guitar and organ based music. It’s definitely not robot sounds.
Plus you seem to be confusing songs from their 1979 album, The Wall, with 1973’s Dark Side of the Moon. The song with kids about hating school is “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2” from The Wall.
Listening to their music isn’t going to make anyone want to use drugs. Imho, it’s quite the opposite. Your missing out on what’s considered by nearly everyone (& that’s mostly sober people) to be some of the greatest music of the 20th Century. Hopefully you can give it a meaningful listen some day without stirring up the bad and sad memories.
Btw, their 1975 album “Wish You Were Here” was the bands way of moving past the loss of co-founder Syd Barrett who had to leave the band due to mental illness. Maybe it can do the same for you and your brothers memory.
Best of luck
@@bobespirit2112 I appreciate all that you told me. I believe that you are a very rare great person. Wish you the best!
@@Billy-zv6gv Thanks!
If you want some fun rock, I’ve been loving the Japanese BAND-MAID! The Maids are a blast BUT they compose very high-level rock songs. They mix Japanese and English and have a few all-English or mostly English songs. Many consider them one of the top 3 or 4 rock bands on the planet 🌍 today. I hope you check them out!
Pulse version is way better. Even the recent Live at Pompei is much better than this version.
This dosent compare to the pulse concert!
Pulse version is much better
intimation....... not imitation..... i emphasize that because ....how many songs have the word intimation in it?!
Flat vocal. Yeah, I said it. Come at me. Am I wrong though? Am I really though?
That part that reminds you of something else kinda reminds me of No Doubt - Don't Speak.
