What Are Chemistry Exams Like

Everyone says Chemistry majors require critical thinking and problem solving on chem exams but what does that actually mean? In this video I talk about what sort of problems chemistry majors need to solve in each class they will take and what actual areas of critical thinking these problems require from spatial reasoning too math. Chemistry classes and the exams in them can be wildly different from each other so I wanted to go through every main class in the chemistry major and describe and show different types of problems you will see in the these chemistry classes. Hope It gives you an idea what to expect on Chemistry exams!

Yrs ago, I believe it was Clemson, they used to require PCHEM for some reason to satisfy the the Chem E major but they took it out because so many people were failing due to all the other intensive course work they had to deal with. Idk why that was even made a requirement in the first place, as a Chem E’s job is to scale up reactions, not analyze and research them, that’s the chemists job.
