So in a nutshell, Hinduism is the University offering education of different subjects at levels beginning from the basic to the topmost, other religions are simply colleges/schools offering only a single (or a very limited number of) program(s) at single (or a very limited) level.

@@ahmed786tutu The clue is already indicated in the video. It clearly mentions that within the simple logical contradiction of Hindu scriptures, lie the depth of God realisation. The "adhikar" concept does offer a clue. See it again with depth of concentration.
After all, what is there in the spiritual aspect of other religions, are already there in Hinduism. Additionally Hinduism offers more in terms of spectra & depth. People from other religions will have problem in understanding it until they know Hinduism in some depth. It's like someone studying in an undergraduate level in one branch, who will find it difficult to realise the knowledge base in another branch and also what's going on at post-graduate or doctoral level. Hence my earlier equation.

Whence was it produced? Whence is this creation?

Who then knows whence it has arisen?

reason 2. in hinduism Lakshman is great because he obeyed his brother , Vibhishan is great because he betrayed his brother , Rama was great because he obeyed is father , Prahlad was great because he defied his father, Sita was great because she obeyed her husband , Mira bai was great because she defied her husband , I think people can't understand the dharma flowing under these contradiction .

Nice comment . I guess all these seemingly contradictory behaviors of great individuals of Indic culture has one common thread . That thread is Dharma . Its Dharma which compels Janki to follow her husband into the forest . Its Dharma which compels Mira to reject the materialistic nature of her husband and go against him . Its Dharma which makes Sri Ramchandra to do as his father had promised to kaikai and its Dharma which makes a young boy Prahalad to openly go against the wishes and warnings of his father .

If you will follow it then you may betray your loved ones or you will never betray your loved ones.
In my view, it's viewers perception but when they go beyond the idea of perception and asks the questions(and question on question) and not make judgement on the basis of their perception, then there comes the truth and realisation.

If parents / couple were spiritually advanced, then they gain the power / ability to "Create" a perfect and divine child that can understand anything and everything and even attain moksha early in life. Such parents will have their souls blessed and all karma will be eliminated from them. Final goal of a spiritual seeker is to create a perfect child like an avatar. But what if all men and women in this world suddenly turned into monks, saints, yogis and spiritual seekers... When that happens, that's when Satyayug / Spiritual utopia begins and fear of death is completely gone and we become immortals such that we know where our souls are gonna be reborn and so no need to worry. From another perspective, all are equally happy in such a world and so being born anywhere is good rather than wishing not to be born in Kaliyug where there's only pain and suffering owing to explosive growth in human population.

Adi Shankara too accepted that nobody is born high or low after Shiva himself made him understand this at Kashi . Once while in Kashi, Adi Shankara and his disciples were going to the temple after taking a bath in the Ganga, there was a person coming in opposite direction, he belonged to a caste of cemetery dwellers, which was considered as lowest among the caste hierarchy, his disciples asks the man to move aside as he was unclean, to which the man responds, ‘should I move my body which is composed of the five element as your's or the soul which ever pure?’ listening to this, Adi Shankara fell at the man's feet and even proclaimed that man was his guru, many social reformers may have come and even accepted people from other castes as their students, but Adi Shankara was the only to accept a cemetery dweller as his guru.

@@thebest658 Ramanuja did not exist. He was created by colonialists to promote blind bakthi movements which can mimic Abrahamic religions. Ad-shnakara's teachings were distorted by colonialists.

Krishna talks about the 4 Varnas created by the laws of nature.
      catur-varnyam maya srstam
      guna-karma-vibhagasah
meaning a person's character depends on his guna shaped by past karma (NOT BIRTH) which also shapes his choice of work.
Rigid birth based caste system (which did not allow social mobility) was created by Lord Risley (a British agent) in the 19th century. He morphed ancient and flexible jathis (occupational groups which allowed social mobility) and 4 varnas (colors of character of a person shaped by past karma not birth family) and RE- classified people based on race science (nose size and head shape). The same race science was later used in Africa by colonialists which led to Rwandan genocide.
So called "untouchability" was a consequence of rigid birth based caste system. Colonialists (es East India company agents) created thousands of fake hindu mutts to prevent "shudras" from entering hindu temples. It was done to make hindus self loathe their own tradition
Point is the artificially created social stratifications during colonial times have nothing to do with the validity of hindu/dharmic tradition which was built around the Vedic metaphysics Sankhya which can be validated by logic, double slit quantum experiment and embodied experience (direct knowledge through focus and meditation)

The gods are just as accountable to the rules and are leading from the front rather than being a Deity that simply just watches and judges. the adaptability of Hinduism and it’s flexibility in relation to embracing other faiths into its own is the reason why it is the oldest, still practiced religion to this date.

@Amimul Islam May be, but before at the early age I used to hate all the religion, all the beliefs and cultural activities. I was considering myself a atheist. But Hinduism tells you can achieve the god being a atheist. Whatever I learnt in my life, I can relate it to Hinduism. Nowadays whenever I listen to any gurus, Yogis or any religious person speaking about something or I read any religious texts, most of times it becomes same to my views on this point. what i love most here is 'religious freedom', choose your own god or create your own path, nothing is absolute here which sounds logical to me. The rivers are vanishes itself into ocean but all the river had different path.
The Hinduism also has many contribution like yoga, Ayurveda, music, huge number of art, literature, mathematics, astrology and lots of wisdom to the world and the mankind. It teaches us the acceptance, tolerance, harmony and peace. It is the culture of seeking and experiencing not to just believe something. you can question here anything and can express your thought here also because it never tells you something absolute. It always give you the reason why you should follow something instead of just command something. Lot of things things here that always mesmerize me and yet has to discover.

A 2nd class student is taught earth is circular, color of sky is blue. But later on you know earth is not exactly circular, nor color of sky is blue. Would you call this contradiction? A fool who has not read any class will do so. A learned one will clearly recognise the stage and understand the importance of both the knowledge suited according to ones intellect capacity.

    That's what GITA says

Live simple , be simple . Only your words and actions will remain . So love all. Do Good for others .
Follow Ahimsa and Do Niskam Karma .
But , IF any one tries Hingsa on others ,

Go and Understand Samkhya, and Vedanta philosophy... then you can clearly draw a line of distinction.

Inorder to classify non Muslims, non Christians, non Buddhists, non Jains & non Sikhs. British government coined the term Hindu religion. (Etymology of word Hindu comes from Sanskrit/Indo Aryan language 'Sindhu'. Al Hind word was first used by Ummayad Caliphate Commander Muhammed Bin Qasim who conquered Sindh.)
Vedic Gods - Indra, Mithra, Varuna, Soma, Savithr, Agni, Prajapati, Ashwins, Adithyas, Yama, Rudra, Vishnu, Dayus etc.
Vedic Goddesses - Sachi, (Indrani) Vaaruni, Saraswati, Prithvi, Ushas, Vaac etc.
Puranic Gods - Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Shakthi, Skandha & Ganapathi.
Hinduism is not a single religion. It is not based on a single god or single prophet. Neither it contain verses which says those who don't obey our god or prophet are kafirs (liars, pagans, sinners, disgusting sub humans) will be punished in hell. Their beliefs and worship places should be destroyed.
Vedas, Upanishads, Dharma Shastras,(including Manu) Puranas, Agamas, Thantras, Ithihasas, Advaitha, Dwaitha, Vishishtadwaitha and various tribal beliefs are what we collectively call Hinduism now.
It is only in Hinduism where every philosophy or spirituality has a special place and co exist peacefully. Be it Vedic, Vedanta,(Upanishads) Shaiva, Vaishnava, Shaktheya, Advaitha, Dvaitha, Vishishta Dvaitha, Agamic, Thantric, Tribal beliefs etc. It is from one absolute reality (EkamSat/Brahman) everything in this universe came. Devas and Devis were also created like us. They are in our minds too. Only difference is that they do all the natural phenomenon in this observable universe. In Vedic times it was Indra who was omnipresent. Varuna was the keeper of cosmic law. Agni was inner desire or ambition of human mind to achieve great heights. Mitra is helper of Varuna. In post vedic times all this changed. Vedic Rudra become Shiva, Prajapathi become Brahma, Vishnu become more powerful and Sachi (Indra wife) become Shakti.

Why would the most peaceful religion that ever existed make any sense? I don't care how much sense it makes, it's the most peaceful religion, ever, that accepts everyone else's beliefs. It makes as much sense as any other religion that no one can prove.

What makes sense is understanding the unity between God and man, but at the same time elevating God to a level which is exclusive but at the same time, above our level, and with understanding. Reasoning produces understanding of a difference between a false God and faith vs a true God and true faith. I believe in Jesus Christ because he was someone in history, His message lives on untouched. His name has an effect which divides even the closest of friends.

Brilliantly described- different levels for people at different levels of maturity. Sanatan Dharma encourages people to be seekers and not just blind followers. It allows questioning and debating to uncover the knowledge. It is also a unique mix of Science and humanities. Most fascinating part for discovery is that most of the ancient texts bear an astronomical date stamp!

Brilliant, It is true. Paradox is in the mind not in existence. Nothing in existence is contradictory, everything is working in tandem and hence when you realize that duality itself is a illusion, you understand singularity. Very few people have been able to get there but its not all that hard.
Abhrahimic religions are not really geared towards making a actual understanding of god, but rather a given commandment and its not at all good for society because it promotes bigotry and extremism in the society. You can see that from the fact how State has now disassociated with religion and aims to be more secular in Europe and US. While on the Other hand, Islamic bullshit has been far more regressive and it takes a country a century behind with its barbaric practices because it has become more of a political tool than spiritual guide. None of these Faiths will guide you towards actual enlightenment but they would rather punish you if you were anywhere near being spiritually advanced because they fear their power might shift to you. This is actually what Jews were doing when they saw Jesus. This is because its just a tool for conquest and powermongering and not a actual guide towards inner well being but rather path to fanatic behavior and sad consequences.

Same for Christianity. One thing I want to add is, Both Abrahamic and Christian religions focus on purpose of getting heaven after death and fails to understand what God actually is. Their basic concepts are just doing whatever have their prophets told them to do and If someone goes against it...... I don't need to say anything about that. They teach people to be scared of hell and God.
Their basic ideology is that one day this World will end, the people who have followed the "rules" and been a "good person" will be provided heaven and the "sinners" will be provided Hell, which I personally think have nothing to do with God but rather their own deeds.

I have some questions and I will be glad if someone may answer them,
    1. What are the proofs of Sanatan Dharm (if it is by GOD) besides Hindu's core belief.
    2. If Vedas are the most sacred scriptures of Sanatam Dharm then why there are so many contradiction between Vedas and Mahabharat-Ramayan-Geeta?
    3. Who is Vyasa and how can one believe that he existed?
    4. If Sanatan Dharm began as an oral tradition then how can we belief someone didn't said something wrong/condratictional? Is there any family evidence of them?

    Just an unpopular fact.
"Hinduism" doesn't exist. No religion originally belongs in Bharat.
There is Dharma. It is not a philosophy.
If understood the correct way, it is free of any contradictions. However, there are no CONCLUSIONS or COMMANDMENTS saying THIS IS IT. It just guides you so that you find the answers yourselves.
We're not believers. We don't believe in anything.
We don't have GODS. India is a godless culture.
The reason one may feel it is contradictory and confusing is because they look at it through the eyes of other religions. Dharma cannot be comprehended that way. Understanding dharma involves an entirely different thought process, away from the template of any religion or belief system.

  • @noam65

    Wow... Where to start.
The Hindus call their religion as Sanatana Dharma, which roughly translates into the idea I of what are one's duties.
    You're combining religion and philosophy.
All the major types of religious philosophies are represented from animism to monotheism, polytheism, from materialism to impersonal and personal forms of God.
India in terms of religious philosophy is a melting pot, much as the US is in terms of languages and cultures.
This leads to confusion if you try to see Hinduism as one thing. Other than being a vast body of wisdom, it is not.
As Jesus is the icon of Christianity, Hinduism has brought forth many.
The avatars of Vishnu are one group of icons especially Krishna and Rama. The avatars of Shiva are another group of icons.
Yoga can be an impersonal spiritual experience, or in Bhakti a very personal spiritual experience.
There are many competing schools of thought therein.
The Muslims have Shiite and Sunni branches. The Christians have Orthodox,Catholic, and Methodist branches to name a few. Judaism has Reform, Orthodox, and Hassidic branches. Each may have more subdivisions that may seem contradictory. Why do you expect Hindu thought to be any more or less faulty than the others?

Hinduism is not easy to understand, it is not easy to explain what Hinduism is. Very complex.
