People complaining about Remco’s reaction, please think twice. Safety should be the top priority in cycling. We already lost many riders in the past few years. Riding in the dark, with no lighting is complete madness, and should be seen as such by all cycling fans.
If people says remco is whining, that are people which never cycled on road bikes. That's actually so stupid great receipt for disaster, darkness +rain.
The part about some teams riding in the dark is a fair complaint, the rain not so much. You are supposed to adjust your riding to the conditions, and riders with better control of their bike will fare better, just as it is supposed to be. If you want to make it all about the watts, you might as well make it a zwift competition.

Completely amateurish. Why would you schedule a race at night, especially on roads that don’t even have streetlights? Not just unfair for the riders, but dangerous. The UCI has rules about everything, but not about proper light on a course? They should just scratch the results from this stage completely.
It's usually bright at that time so the streetlamps had not come on yet. I wonder if the city couldn't have turned them on manually? First proper big rain in more than a year, here in Barcelona, and it had to come on this day...
Like the management of many organizations and companies, they dropped the ball. They talk about safety but don't deliver. Too busy straightening their ties and counting their money.
