  • The American Bittern is a secretive marsh bird that makes its home in tall wetlands, hunting for frogs, fish and whatever else it can catch. OVF Naturalist Kim Gaffett found a dead Bittern on Block Island, and took the opportunity to share a little bit about this fascinating, well-camouflaged bird.

    Just saw one this week on the Palmer River in Rehoboth/Warren Line!

    Just saw one in New Egypt NJ while fishing 🎣 very hard to spot, blended in perfectly with the surrounding foliage.
