If I were to go to Tennessee, they tax groceries at 4% and have a general sales tax of 7% so that same $100 order of groceries in Tennessee would be a total of $111.00 because I would have to pay both the general sales tax and the grocery tax. (7 out of the 13 states that do have a grocery tax simply include that percentage on the listed base price of the item, like most countries in Europe and the British common wealth do for all applicable taxes on an item)
