Volumio has the youtube and spotify plugin. I am using with the RasPi version 3 Model B and Allo DAC and the sound is awesome. I am waiting for the amazon prime music plugin.

    Some ideas/observations:
HiFiBerry still sells snap-on DACs for the older Pi boards. Putting the Pi and audio interface together is cleaner than the Behringer setup, and it should sound better as well (depending on your ears and the rest of your audio setup).
If one Volumio node is good, why not set one up for each room and give yourself the option of controlling them independently? You would still have the ability to send music to all of them simultaneously using Airplay or Spotify Connect. A Pi with an integrated DAC/amp would make that setup pretty clean.

If you are using a splitter, does it means you are listening to the same source in all of your zones?

Hey Noah! Love the show and i'm wondering if a Ras-Pi Zero W would have enough horsepower to do a smaller version of your setup?

Just set one up with a HiFiBerry DAC Zero. Runs great.

Not sure about the actual benefit of volumio compared to an Amp with building Spotify, tunein and local playback

It would be even better if you had play/next buttons above the sound volume knob, so you can switch music and adjust volume by anyone without need to know the volumio site/installed app :)

Until one of those kids starts skipping everything during the holiday visit. Then you’ll have to disable the play/next button

I wonder if I couldn't do something like that with another pi and a small touchscreen

Try Daphile www.daphile.com/# . its not for Raspberry Pi though. but looking at your setup i believe you prolly have a old laptop somewhere that you can install Daphile on to and give it a shot paired with the app play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.org.ngo.squeezer

SWEET!!!!! If it was 1992! Can you say Google Chromecast Audio?!?!?!?!? I also truly enjoy splitting my crappy amp output power by a factor of 5 for 5 zones!
