Hi! Two quick corrections, the fringe cardigan shown was 100% acrylic, but the 3D floral cardigan was 100% polyester. Still both cheap synthetic fibers. And the denim jeans noted were made with a high percentage of lyocell - that is a semi synthetic...but still personally a hard no for me in denim jeans.

Thanks for doing this series! It really makes me think about what clothes I should buy for myself since I'm kinda at that age.

I bought a longer crew neck horse head sweater from H&M years ago. The quality was far better then…8+ years ago, still in great condition and great fabric content. The Anthro brand has really deteriorated in my opinion and prices are ridiculous. Loved these videos of rated clothing stores

Great idea for a series. I’d like to suggest Banana Republic. Over the past few years the prices have gone up but they always offer sales. It’s a mall brand , easy shopping, easy returns. They advertise wool, cashmere, suede, leather products. Might be worth a look. Thanks

I still shop there and Gap, I feel they have great finds. Of course some not so great but overall I’m more impressed now than before.

I can't even tell you how much I love this series! It helps me learn about the quality of more accessible brands! Also, please do an episode on &Other Stories. I've been eyeing their pieces because they're so boho, but they are pricey and I would love to learn more about the quality.

I clicked on this so fast! I love anthro but only thrift it. It’s really great getting your take on the fabrics and quality. I’d love to see some other higher end mall brands like loft and free people in this series! Also your hair looks amazing! Do you have a curling iron you like?❤❤❤

Thank you!! I use babybliss pro for my curling iron.
So glad you’re enjoying this series!! I’d LOVE to do loft. I think I have a factory outlet near me and I’ve been itching to do an outlet vs main store comparison 🧐😊 that could be fascinating!

Thank you for that informative video. I only buy those pieces thrifting. I found some vintage maxi dresses by Old Navy and they are 100% silk. I am not a fan of old navy. Also their vintage work attire pieces were better made. Thrifting vintage pieces are for me. 💕💕💕

I just had a conversation yesterday about the quality of clothes. I don’t like buying new the quality is bad and they don’t use natural fibers. I’ve kept a number of old clothes 10-20 years and it’s much better.

lol, this feels very timely. I was just in Anthro today and hoo boy there’s a lot of very expensive plastic sweaters. But they do have Farm Rio, and I love Farm Rio (though the only piece I own was a lucky clearance find).

When did cotton become so expensive. I think a sweater around $100-$150 made of 100% of cotton is very reasonable.

A big chunk of Anthropologie clothes are designed knowing that the consumer won't buy until it hits athe sale rack or is available with a discount. They sell very little at full price anymore.

I’d love to do Tibi! That would definitely be a what does good fashion actually look like! Amy Smilovic does everything with intention and story. And I’ll always love her brand for that 🙌❤️

I want to counter your statement abut the jewelry - Anthropologie jewelry is GARBAGE, extremely cheap, fragile, and rarely wears well. I used to work at Anthro way back in 2008, and their quality has definitely declined. I also don't get the hype about Farm Rio - it's very cute and generally well-constructed, but it's usually entirely polyester, which is a no for me.

I don't mean for my whole comment to be so negative haha, it's a great video and I would definitely watch more of these on other brands!

    • @lauravonv

These are the comments I’m looking for!!! If these videos turned into a forum where women can share what’s good vs bad I would be soooo happy 🙌❤️❤️ And insider experience is even more valuable. So please share away. I think we need more honesty and conversations like this. Because clearly the fashion industry doesn’t care about quality 😭

I love Farm Rio, but it’s hard to find natural fibers when shopping their fall and winter collections. I cannot justify that price point for acrylic/polyester blends. 🫠
