I Adopted Rich People’s Habits, See How My Life Changed

  • Learn the secrets of success from those who built their own empires from scratch. You can try adopting the habits of super rich people and see how it will help you save money.
Successful people are rarely night owls; they go to bed and wake up quite early. So this was the first habit I decided to take on. By the end of the first week, I noticed that I was able to do way more before noon than I could ever do during the whole day. One more week into the experiment I started waking up completely well-rested and excited to start a new day. Self-made successes swear by exercising every day for at least 30 minutes. After just 10 days, it already became a habit. I became more concentrated and calmer.
If meditating helps successful people stay on top of their game, it should help me out too. Networking is like currency for successful people.
A lot of successful people (like Steve Jobs, for instance) keep a super minimalistic approach to fashion, often wearing the same outfit every day. Truly smart and successful people control their expenses and don’t spend their money on useless things.

    SUMMARY
-With will power of steel, I decided to wake up at the same time every day and come to work an hour early. It took me 3 days to get the schedule right.
-The hardest part here wasn't even the gym itself, it was exercising after working all day. After just 10 days, it already became a habit. I started sleeping better and waking up easier.
-Meditation turned out to be a really good way to get my head straight and renew my energy.
-Even though I didn’t manage to tackle all my tasks, I was able to do more things in the first week than I did during the entire previous month.
-I learned to find common ground with people from the get-go, met a lot of extraordinary individuals, and made some really good friends.
-I carried a book with me at all times and read it on the way to work and back home or during lunch. As a result, by the end of the first month, I had finished my fourth book.
-I no longer had to waste time every day choosing my outfit, deciding whether or not it matched or if it was trendy and whatnot.
-I started out by making a list of everything that I bought every day so that I could see what I spent my money on. This system helped me save 40% of my salary in the first month and almost 60% in the second.
-New habits really did completely change my life for the better.

@Bright Side You do mentioned the time you would wake up but you didn't mentioned at what time you go to bed...that made me think how many hours you slept and how many hours sleep was necessary for you to keep going whole day. Could you Please answer this?

Akhilesh Kr Siɳġh 7-8 hours should be enough. The best morning for me is one when I go 9:30-9:40pm to the bed the night before, and read a book for 20-30 min and slowly fall asleep.

what if I am up late because I am working a second job making a second salary? I start my regular job at 10am and get off from there at 8pm and then I deliver pizza on the weekends from 10pm to 3am (stuck at that job until 4am though because I have to help with dishes)

@@thomashaas5965 Yes Thomas. I understand your point.
You are already doing consistent efforts, then do not be excessively pressurised by these things. You are doing consistently, that's what matters...
At the end your inner satisfaction makes you winner. Nothing else.
Motivate yourself but do not be harsh and possessive. Find balance in your work and whatever you can manage from these things, just to uplift your inner world and be happy. That will be more helpful I guess... 😊

    1. The question isn't when you wake up, it's how much sleep did you get. Get into bed at 8 pm and sleep till 4 am for example.
    2. Exercise - Motion creates emotion and getting you in a flow state.
    3. Meditate - Can be replaced with sport as sport is a kind of meditation already.
    4. Tasks - One thing at a time.
    5. Networking - Everyone wants to meet new people, know who you want to know and go where you'll find them.
    6. Reading / Podcast - Knowledge doesn't stand still and you can create something knew if you connect different dots.
    7. Minimalism - Isn't limited to cloths.
    8. Money - Spend on the things you want and don't cut back on those if it's your passion.

This is a lack of most native English speakers, as once pretty much the whole world speak their language, they generaly don't see a point of learning a new one. But forget about 2 hours of class once a week. Religious 20 minutes a day should make you achieve a B2 level of any language within one year.

I wake up at 5am to go to work, I walk around 12km everyday, I meet new patients everyday, I have to read to stay professionally "in the game", I wear the same white clothes at work and I don't have money for fashion and I control my expenses cause otherwise I'll go bankrupt... This video is a lie!!

      @jasluvdeepsingh8491 6 лет назад +6

Aaron Rowland You wake up because you have a job and if you don't get up at 6, you will get fired (or get problem). It's problem for those like us who don't have any concrete reason to wake up early (or it just doesn't tips us off) and procrastination leads to using social media all night (even if you don't use it, you just won't fall asleep naturally in time). Good on you that you have a solid reason to wake up. Wish you luck for the job!

    • @Eddygeek18
      @Eddygeek18 6 лет назад +9

Yeah when i had a job i started at 6 so had to get up at 5am i did it fine had no problem with but if you have no reason to get up it's extremely difficult you know it's just gonna be a boring day so you sleep in all the time. Now i don't have a job i find it impossible to go to sleep early and even more difficult to get up early because i have nothing to get up for.

If you really want something, it'll be way more important to you than your job. If you really want something you have to do something for it. If you really want it, you'll get up for it at 6 am. Otherwise you just didn't want it that much after all

I never understood that. If you sleep in late you will also stay up later, meaning you have the SAME amount of hours in a day as a person who wakes up early but goes to bed early. I never understood why one thing is better. Even with months of gettting up early at the same time each day, I still hate it. My internal clock wants to sleep longer and stay awake longer.

Other than "will it make me better/be useful" things can also make you happy, nothing wrong with that, and nothing wrong with reading books just to enjoy. It seems like you went to the extreme, LIFE should be balanced, not planned and "only useful things" all the time.

“Successful people are rarely night owls.” Correction....”Successful SHEEP are rarely night owls.”
If you’re in the rat race, with a 40-60 hour per week job, then yes, you have to get up early, because your controllers want you to be a miserable sheep. You have to play by their rules.
    Night owls have been scientifically
proven to be more intelligent. They work SMART, not hard. I own my own business, and usually get up around noon, and I’m plenty successful.

Love the video and I'm also trying to become accustomed to these habits, some already part of my life. But image also matters, I'd definitely not change the clothes part. Presentation matters, it creates an impression. You think of what to wear in spare time, ie during shower for example. I don't have any problem, and those 5-10 min are totally worth it.

I know a guy who started coming to work an hour early just to beat the traffic. When he got there he spent the hour writing a book. The book was published and turned out quite successful. Also he got a promotion because his boss found out he was always early at work. The boss found out, because the boss always came early to work.

4:45 to 5:35 detailing more on how to make new friends could be an entire video in & of itself, especially for those who are introverted. or when the things one is interested in (seeing bands, going to sport events, etc) are evening or nighttime oriented activities. would be immensely helpful!

Speaking from experience I would recommend that you do NOT wear identical clothes every day. People think that you don't wash your clothes or if you tell them that you have multiple clothes all of the same brand and colour that you really strange or have a mental condition of some sort.

I have been on this adventure for a few weeks, not knowing this video existed. You have added some food for thought and I will definitely be adopting some, if not all, of these habits. The ones I have started are, waking up early (oh this is so hard for me!). You are right, there is a HUGE difference in 1) How i am feeling/thinking and 2) What I am accomplishing. In fact, I am upstarting a business of sorts with personal branding and empowering others. I now start my day with lemon water BEFORE coffee and have seen and felt a difference, health wise. I do still have my coffee after.... I have been working out at the gym, hiking, etc for a couple of months. I have lost 15 lbs and it has given me so much energy. When I wake in the morning, though I do not meditate as you do, I pray, have Bible study and have a reflection journal. This has been an amazing thing! I now have my yt set to upbeat jazz all day which makes me happy and energetic. I keep a calendar and TRY to block off everything! It feels great when I check off those accomplishments and goals! I think next I am going to add "meet new people". For some reason this intimidates me, which is funny, because I teach others "confidence". Ah well, we all have something, right? Nonetheless, here I go!

Success is accomplished by working more than doing tasks that don't bring important advantages. People who don't practice important work skills are not as able to do those activities efficiently, easily and correctly for an extensive period of time. If they cannot perform those activities, they cannot profit off of them well most of the time because their poor work and performance is not very valuable. For example, if Mr. Jobs or Mr. Gates did not read about, study and work with computers and machinery very often, how would they be able to plan and design their computer products?
