Another sweet trick from the guy in the eye! Always something to look forward to in your tutorials, so simple, yet still innovative and unique like almost no other tutorials online.
I remember struggling a bit with the inflation tutorial due to not really understanding all those crazy parameters of the Soft Body tag, so this new video definitely helped me understand it a little bit better - love that it's possible to create this perpetual motion without manual keyframing! Awesome tutorial, thanks a lot!
Oh awesome! Yeah I should have done a better job explaining some of the Soft Body settings in that deflation one, there's a lot to wrap your head around! Glad this helped you understand a bit better! :)
Hey Gerbert! Glad you found it helpful! Oh man, my wife and I have been wanting to come to Amsterdam soon! Maybe next year and we can grab some tasty beer! :)
Hi there! Thank you for awesome Tutorials. would you please share the project with fracture layers and so on. I would like to take a deeper look into layers and adjustments you said, it is a bit hard for me to set up the project you showing since I am a beginner . it will be a great help. thanks :)
Hi :) Thank you for the tutorial it is awesome to follow ! But I had a trouble making the ribbon to cloth . If I put my ribbon to cloth surface the ribbon suddenly disappears.. How can I fix this problem?? (my ribbon has kind of few subdivisions, so it has an angles if i don't apply cloth surface of subdivision)
Bind the ribbon? The ribbon was a sweep object along a closed spline with a rectangle spline as the sweep profile. When you make the spline make sure "close spline" checkbox is checked and it'll close that spline. Hope that helps!
Great tutorial thank you sir. Sir i want to make needle and thread animation like surgical suturing but my thread is not following naturally the needle. Please can you make small tutorial on that. I will be very grateful to you. Thanks in advance Guru.
Hi, I have a question for PC specs. When I apply the soft body dynamics and press play, my entire cinema 4d freezes and doesn't work unless I force close it with task manager. I think it's my GPU. I have a Geforce GTX 1060 3GB. I think that the 3GB is the problem and I can't confirm. My VRAM is 2.9GB and in task manager the soft body dynamics runs 3.7GB under memory. I can't confirm if these are related but I think it is. I'm maybe hoping you or anyone in the chat have some insight? It isn't my CPU because I run a AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core processor and no problems are shown on task manager.
hi sorry to ask an irrelevant question here : i was trying to follow some tutorials in other place, to make a conveyor tank track. so basically it is working fine when i rotate the wheel the tracks will move accordingly too, but if i hit "play" then the tracks that i made with cloner objects just fall apart randomly, then dont stick with the spline path anymore, anybody any clues? is any tags missing ? or what can i do to fix it?
i have a big problem when trying to set up my ribbon, as when the ribbon shape of the second part is set up, although points are distributed seemingly equally and the rest of the settings are identical to yours, as the animation begins the ribbon contracts or overstretches at some places and after a couple of seconds it starts going through cylinders, would be great if someone would recommend solution
I've had this issue as well, maybe try adjusting some of the settings for the dynamic springs as well as the Dynamics samples in the Expert settings. Good luck!
Hey there ! So I am following right now and I don’t know why but mine render is super slow (ribbon takes time to fall onto the cylinders) ? Why is that? Processor? Bad equipment?
hi man sorry to ask some question that is not related to this video, but I really need some advices from the pros, hope somebody can help me : so I want to apply the clones object on my curve + straight line, something like a line cropped from a rounded square from its corner. but when I clone the small boxes, the boxes are not equally placed in the spline, they are like all gather around the rounded / curved line area and but only a few other falls in the straight line area, what should I adjust? I tried some adjustments in "start" and "end", but it doesnt help. I hope you get what i mean, its too bad i cant upload a pic here and show u how it looks like, hope you can understand my poor english.
A rounded spline? Clicking and dragging to adjust the bezier handles are all it takes. Maybe practice or look into some spline tool tutorials to up your spline game!
eyedesyn Thanks man! I think I didn't ask you the right question, I think I meant to ask how you connected your shape with the spline you drawn. Sorry for confusing you. Great video by the way!
hey eyedesyn i'm rly thankful for your video's it helped me improve a lot ! still i faced a little problem while doing a text motion tracking and im blocked, how embarassing xD i'm wondering if you can give me a hand i know that its something easy so it's not taking u more than 2 min but for me im really blocked trying to solve it for 3 days !! i can give you discord or where ever you want to speak !
I got the numbers to work but not nearly as well as in the tutorial. Everything with dynamics seems so buggy in C4D. The worst is self collisions with fabric. That's the tutorial I'd vote for.
Cloth is a fairly old system, even older than Soft Body Dynamics so it's not always the best! But yeah, every scene is unique and you're right, dynamics is very finicky!
Hey, you teach to make the tutorial by one way and in the and of the video have a jumpcut and you just made by yourself without explain the steps? this is unfair man. really unfair.
Another sweet trick from the guy in the eye!
Always something to look forward to in your tutorials,
so simple, yet still innovative and unique like almost no other tutorials online.
Thanks Patrick! Really appreciate that comment! Glad you are enjoying the tutorials and look forward to them! Means a lot! :)

Again another one of these great tutorials with tons of tipps and tricks to follow...
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent! Great for animating film going through sprockets, which always challenged me.
Totally! That'd be an awesome application of this technique!
can you make a tutorial on how to make that wood texture/ other patterns like that?
If enough people want it! Sure! :)
nice
i want it
YES PLEASE!!! The marble too! All that sexy stuff ;)
we want!!
Great effect! Thanks EJ
and nice to see you are using uncommon things like physical sky! Makes me do settings that are working (or not) :)
Thanks Pierre! Sometimes Physical Sky can give you some pretty cool effects! Thanks for watching!
whoa... what a tutorial, EJ! You are the Man!
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed it!
amazing tutorial as always. thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I needed this soo much to make a Tank's caterpillar tracks.
Very welcome, happy to help!
Awesome tutorial! Thanks!
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Nice EJ! Very helpful! Can you come to the Netherlands for a couple of weeks. You can sleep in my house! So I learn a lot more from the master :)
Hey Gerbert! Glad you found it helpful! Oh man, my wife and I have been wanting to come to Amsterdam soon! Maybe next year and we can grab some tasty beer! :)
Awesome stuff EJ
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
I really happy to know your tutorial.
Keep doing it EJ!
Thanks man! I'll keep doin it if you keep watching!
Yürü bolm yaptırdın bana 30 dk da dönem ödevini .
Respect turkey .
hahahah muhtesem
Hi there!

wood texture please
Another vote for woooooood! Thanks, Sky!
Good stuff fella.
nice!! but what is your problem with keyframes?
awesome tutorial! just we can animate texture in second part and add some pose morphed hand made animations :D
Thanks for watching! You mean the wood texture?
It would be nide if you can update this tutorial with the new R26..2023. Thanks again! :)
Thanks for the recommendation - totally!
cool tut, as always!
just one question: i'm trying to do something like the second scene, but the spline rotate on its axiz like the cylinder..
You might have the wrong axis being used with the Connector
nice tuto
thanks :)
Thanks for watching!
Waiting for your Wood Texture or Sky Object tutorial. please, do it.
Another vote for Wood & Sky tutorial! Cool!

you are _______ amaizing.
Thanks for the awesome _______ comment!
I L U -- ha ha..
hahaha!
Great teacher, Thank you. Very inspiring.
how did you bind the ribbon together to create a circle around the rotating objects?
Yeah I was wondering the same thing
Bind the ribbon? The ribbon was a sweep object along a closed spline with a rectangle spline as the sweep profile. When you make the spline make sure "close spline" checkbox is checked and it'll close that spline. Hope that helps!
I did the whole tutorial and then I couldn't fix that. thanks, i'll try that!
good luck!
Great tutorial thank you sir.
Sir i want to make needle and thread animation like surgical suturing but my thread is not following naturally the needle. Please can you make small tutorial on that.
I will be very grateful to you.
Thanks in advance Guru.
good evening! Thank you for the lesson ! Only today, something bad was hard to see, there is simply no clarity)))))
Very welcome for the lesson! Glad you liked it!
Thank you ! But there is no clarity of the image? All is blurry even for 1080)))
Thanks for the enlightenment!
Wood and Sky Object tutorial please!
Noted! Thanks!

can you tell me how much RAM do you have in your Mac? thanks you for your time EJ
Sure! I got 64GB

Great tutorial but why does my spline rotate with the cylinders?
may need to up the friction or perhaps you missed a step in the tutorial?
Wich render engine do you use ?
This was rendered with Physical Renderer, but I hope to get Octane soon once I get my GFX card!
Okay , Thank you :)
Hey there !
So I am following right now and I don’t know why but mine render is super slow (ribbon takes time to fall onto the cylinders) ?
Why is that? Processor? Bad equipment?
Sounds like you need to upgrade the processor and RAM!

There should be a Uniform space option that should work for that!
thanks! i found it! ^^
Am having trouble with the spline, am not sure how you make your one round like that
A rounded spline? Clicking and dragging to adjust the bezier handles are all it takes. Maybe practice or look into some spline tool tutorials to up your spline game!
eyedesyn Thanks man! I think I didn't ask you the right question, I think I meant to ask how you connected your shape with the spline you drawn. Sorry for confusing you. Great video by the way!
Oh I see, I used a Sweep Object using a very thin Rectangle swept along that spline that goes around the shapes. Hope that clears it up!
Eywal !
hey eyedesyn i'm rly thankful for your video's it helped me improve a lot ! still i faced a little problem while doing a text motion tracking and im blocked, how embarassing xD i'm wondering if you can give me a hand i know that its something easy so it's not taking u more than 2 min but for me im really blocked trying to solve it for 3 days !! i can give you discord or where ever you want to speak !
my spline moves every time i hit play to watch the motion, anyone else got this? how did you fix?
Does the simulation look OK though?
Thanks, man! Now i know how to wrap up my ex-gf's house with toilet paper.
BOOM! Glad i could help!
Can someone explain me how to make a cube?
Easy! go to File > Quit
Hmm, I can find the file button but can't find the quit, can you send a screenshot to help me? :^)
;)
Am I doing something wrong or is my computer trash? Cause it takes an eternity for the animation at 21:43 to play.
Probably need to up your RAM or processing power on your computer!
set the intermediate points of your rectangle to "none".. i had the same issue with 32gigs of ram. That fixed it.
I got the numbers to work but not nearly as well as in the tutorial. Everything with dynamics seems so buggy in C4D. The worst is self collisions with fabric. That's the tutorial I'd vote for.

3:10 malfunction detected. brain reset initialised.
hahaha nice
Second ? :D
If you ain't first, you're last! ;)
