    In this NAB 2018 Rewind, Zachary Corzine presents several advanced Cinema 4D MoGraph techniques learned through exploration - techniques which he’s used in creating many of the outstanding animations he’s posted on his @zachdarren Instagram page.
    Zachary demonstrates how the Follow Position and Rotation options in Cinema 4D’s Rigid-Body Dynamics can be used to create dynamic simulations that are art-directable with shaders and effectors.     ....I'm trying to figure out how that changing colour thing works too. Never liked the shader effector. Maybe I should become a street sweeper instead

    2 things here, what is meant by "Student", I'm 58 learning ZBrush on 3DCW(Shane Olson) but still a student. secondly , if I get a student licence how will that affect my licence for ZBrush now and in the future RE: the offer back in July 2022 switching from pixologic

    Sometimes I wonder is experimentation (..title of video) really a good way to learn? Occasionally you have happy accidents, but mostly I move around within "my comfort zone" and don't really progress or learn anything new. Rather than aimlessly tinker about it might be better to watch 20 minutes of tutorials?

    Does anyone know how to stop the "popping effect from the blend cloner, it works fine with a cube to sphere the way he showed but any other geo snaps into shape, i was trying to do it with a capsule.

      its not 2 hdrs, its one to define the refle/refra and one to define the bg probably as color or image (i suppose :P )

    I have the constraint effector and the displacer on the correct spot, but when I hit play and allow for the dynamics to happen and the object hits the floor, the sphere doesn't appear like a soft body, Help.

    For the first example, the color shader gradient colors the clones fine but they don't react to the height. They all just keep their same color regardless of position. How can I map a color to the low ones and change to a different color when they rise?

      put a random effector above of the effectors with +y axis orientation that affect the color based on the height of the objects, if you check the video again he has a random effector on it,
      another solution could be copy the noise shader used in the displacer effector and paste it in the color tab of the c4d material where he puts the aerial topographic map

    Awesome presentation. on 25:59 does all the forces and displacer need to have a linear falloff too? Or it's all set to infinite? Thanks

      Yes, the forces and displacer have a linear falloff with similar settings to the Plain Effector. This ensures the original arrangement is unmodified until the transformation occurs.

    18:58 I get pinching on my sphere geometry due to using a cube (I can see division lines on the sphere surface). How can I avoid that?

      Use an RS Material Blender. Cube for base color RS Material, sphere RS Material for Layer Color 1, then hook up an RS Color User Data to Blend Color 1. Set Color User Data attribute name to Mograph Color on dropdown, should say RSMGcolor. With R23, I am using Field color remap gradient from linear field. Hope that helps, sorry it's late.

      It should work, as long as you're using an effector to modify the colors.

      Make it editable - I had the same issue. I think it's only in R19 that you can do it the way he shows in the video.

      Your welcome, just figured it out myself today. The thing I can't seem to get working are the settings for the constraint tag on the displacer which should affect the plain effector. Any idea?

      Oh I finally figured it. With render instances checked on, the color data wasn't passing through the shader effector. When checked off, it worked!

      Im not sure about which constraint tag you are asking about. I am just displacing the plain with the noise channel in the displacer.

      Waynehedd I think he's trying to say that C4D will never be as popular as Maya or 3DS Max. As the only thing it can offer is Mograph. Most of the presentations are based on this module. At the same time it lacks many selection, modelling, UV tools and so on. It even has no node based material editor from the box. It's so lame.

      I would never use anything else than Cinema 4D for motion graphics. It's so fast, fluid and easy to learn. Getting things to look great fast is easy.
