    Thanks for sharing your expertise! Your cinema4d tutorials are my most favorite ones! You have such a unique talent to explain complex things in a clear and concise manner. I like that you also mentioned the functions of each dynamic tag and properties; it helped me to better understand how cinema4d dynamics works in general. Very useful, Thank you for all your awesome tutorials on RUclips! :)

    If your dynamic simulation explodes, the problem might be with the Fillet Cap. Start from zero and keep going up until it explodes. Mine started exploding on 8cm, so I reduced it to 7cm and it's fine.

  • @samkhpak

    Thanks for this great tutorial, two questions:
    1. When I have more letter than only one, it doesn't effect on all the letters when I want to inflate it?
    2. How we can make this bubble text explode? Would you make a tutorial for it, thanks

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад

      Hi Sam!
      1. I'd do each letter seperately, i.e. make a Motext for each letter.
      2. To make the bubble explode you'd need to go the Cloth Object route as SoftBody dynamics doesn't handle exploding at all.

      I would to say that your video very detailed and i understand what you doing =) To enable CC is good idea. Only with no translating - it badly translate(ing?) from English to Russian language. From the Russian to English is better =) The English - its strong language. For example i took your phrase: "Thank you for watching!" . On the Russian i can to say also "For watching thank you" or "You for watching thank".(of course, by Russian words. I.e. "За просмотр, спасибо тебе" или "Тебе за просмотр спасибо" etc) It is simple example.

    Hello EJ, nice tutorial again, as usual.
    I tried this with my own object but it's very messy when deflates.
    I can't get that nice melt which you did on the tutorial with the "8".
    Can you give me any quick tip with the settings maybe?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад +1

      If your object is more complex, you may want to add in more springs so it's not so mushy and messy when it deflates. You'll notice I made the 8 with low poly techniques and then applied a Subdivision Surface to make things a bit simpler

    So I've done everything you did in the tutorial and at 6:34 when you demonstrate the 8 falling, mine starts to fall for a second or 2 and then it just gets bigger, but like really big, and just goes bigger instead of falling. Please help!

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад +3

      That's probably due to your geometry intersecting before the simluation runs, be sure your bevels aren't so thick they overlap!

    Great tutorial! I noticed that the upper half of the 8 inflates faster than the bottom half. Is there any way to make the whole object inflate a little more evenly?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад +1

      Technically this is the way a real object would inflate, all the air would move to the top parts first then fill in the bottom, but you could tweak it a bit if you adjust some of the options like Gravity (Found in the Project Settings > Dynamics options) and the Inflate option in the Softbody Dynamics. Hope that helps!

    • @eyedesyn

      That's an option added in R15 or R16, I believe. To achieve the same effect, place your Motext Object underneath a Connect object to connect the caps. Hope that helps!

    Hi EJ, i have a problem, when I do my collision with the floor when simulating after that the soft boddy do not keeps deflate, it keeps gettign bigger and growing each time, I did the same like you and nothing the number after collide keeps getting bigger and growing up. Any help?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад

      is the initial geometry intersecting with the floor? is it a higher poly object? those things can cause issues.

    • @KenedyTorcatt
      @KenedyTorcatt 7 лет назад

      I noticed the intersection with the geometry, but no. And I tried with the same poly count like you, with the number 8 and the same helvetica font, but it keeps growing up. I am using R18 maybe there is another parameter involved that I need to uncheck you think? Thanks for the answer.

    • @eyedesyn

      Please check out the tutorial description as I listed a tutorial I did about Mesh deformers that will help this issue, the explosion is most likely due to polygon intersections

    Hello, I am a new visitor to your channel I loved all your tutorials. I need some help I am stuck at this part > When the object deflates its position is rotated slightly and when in the dynamics I go and select that initial state it doesn't inflated properly. I wanted to know how is your position fixed even after the object is deflated. Thanks :)

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  5 лет назад

      might be because your object isn't on the ground that it then falls and rotates? you can also go to the Follow Position or Rotation to dampen those movements!

    Ive fully rendered the scene and it looks great. Now how do I export the video. I have tried saving it as an MP4 and MOV and when i go to the new saved document it is in video format but only saves frame #0 so the video is not even 1 second long. How do I export all 120 something frames?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  5 лет назад

      choose all frames in the dropdown menu in Output > Frame Range

    Hello! A bit late to the game but wanted to say thanks so much for this video! It's great. I am having a problem in which my object, although it begins deflated and resting on the disk, elevates when I press play on the timeline and continues to inflate downwards, rather than inflating from the ground up. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thank you!

    EJ, Thanx for the tut. I have a quick question though. I'm getting a ringing at the bottom of my object. It's like it's constantly colliding with my floor object. If there's anything I could do to dampen ringing? Thanks dude!

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад

      Hi there! In the dynamic settings under the Collision Tab, you can up the Size Increment, also try animating the Springs to higher values as well. Lastly, go into your Dynamic Project Settings by hitting CMD/CNTRL+ D and go into the Expert tab and up the Steps per Frame and Max Solver. Hope that helps!

    • @mrheydu
      @mrheydu 7 лет назад

      Alright, it seems to be better now. Specially after increasing the Steps per frame. My other questions is. I would like to make it pop like a ballon now. I know how to do it using the cloth tag but can't seem to be able to create the same effect with the soft body tag. What would you do?

    Hey, thanks for your efforts to provide such detailed explanations. While trying to do same with a capsule, I am facing a wierd problem. As soon as I 'Set initial state', the position of the capsule changes [half capsule moves below the floor, and it also rotates a but). This is for the initial frame. Could you help me with this?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад +3

      So this option was added in R16, i believe. Instead, you can place the motext object in a Connect Object and with both the Connect & Motext object selected, right click and select "Current State to Object"

    Hey EJ!| Love the tutorial, as usual haha :) I only have one problem...When I go and inflate my Motext (Which is composed by multiple characters) it only inflates the first letter...Any idea what the issue could be? Thanks so much

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  5 лет назад

      hey man, try using separate letters with separated dynamics tags and see if that helps!

    My object doesn't seem to behave the same way (@ about 7:00) Instead of falling over, it crumbles and almost explodes... Following the tutorial to a T, any ideas?

    • @chrisraymond4804
      @chrisraymond4804 7 лет назад

      Might be a CPU issue, when previewing the deflate the computer chugs super hard and nearly freezes when I try and pause it. Sometimes crashes. Which is odd considering that I'm using a mac pro with good specs...

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад +1

      You need to makes sure your object is not a dense mesh. If it is, you should use a Mesh Deformer cage. A lot of good tutorials on that subject if you search YT

    • @eyedesyn

      In the video I mention that you can do the same thing by placing the Motext object as a child of a Connect Object! Hope that helps!

    Hey EJ, I was able to pull this off with a simple extrusion but as soon as I tried to use it on a team logo c4d just up and froze. Is it most likely because the logo is too complex? Its only a few circles with text on it I suppose. Is there a way to get around this? Im on a trash can mac pro too!

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад

      The key is using a low poly mesh for more complex objects. You can learn about Mesh Deformers here:

    Hi, im trying to deflate a model that i made with rhino. i exported the model in .obj and when i apply the soft body the seams break in the model. As there are no caps tab like in a text created in c4d, is there any way to weld the seams so that the object doesn't explode when i apply the effect? Thanks for the tutorial!

    • @eyedesyn

      You should make sure each of the numbers are their own object and have a dynamics tag on each, they should work!

    I've baked my dynamic body so I can actually see whats going on but for some reason when I set inital state it doesn't remain in that state when i go to frame 0. I imagine that's because i have to bake it? but when i did that it just messed up the text.... HELP lol

    it's so slow whn I use soft body tag and click play, is it because the high poly text? or my pc is not powerful enough? I'm using pc with 4gb ram

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад +2

      4GB of RAM is very low, I'd go at least 16GB. And yes you should lower the polys in the text like I did in the tutorial and use a Subdivision Surface to smooth everything out again!

      For older versions, just place the Extrude Object as a child of a Connect object and that will fix it.

    I have tried this with a capital "M" and it doesn't really deflate the way the "8" does. It starts to deflate but ends up kind of morphing and growing out of control. It kind of looks like it has something to do with the sharp corners but I'm not experienced enough to make that kind of call really. Any idea why this is happening with the "M"?? thank you.

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 лет назад

      Make sure none of the pieces of the M geometry overlap itself, I cover how I needed to adjust some of the cap settings so there wasn't intersecting, this could cause those issues.

    I try what you said but still didnt work, I think what you mean is put the MoText under the Disc object then it will connect?
    but still not works. Is it because my C4d version is R15 ?
