Just a padantic but important point is that TURP syndrome causes hypOtonic hypOnatraemia. This is because the irrigation fluid is hypotonic thus dilutes plasma Na+. Dirty did a good job of explaining the dilutional mechanism but for some reason numerous medical textbooks classify this as isotonic hypOnatraemia. This is definately not the case.

Can't excessive fluid intake lead to hypervolemic hyponatremia? Then how does psychogenic polydipsia lead to euvolemic? Great channel btw, thank you for all your help :)
He obviously is a dr. I think he might be a DO not an MD because of the COMLEX exam stuff. He is a certified DemiGOD to all medical students around the world anyways.
The question vignette will likely describe the pathology to you. Ie they are vomiting, or maybe they have a history of hypothyroidism, or perhaps they underwent prostate surgery a few days ago. Etc etc . You’ll infer it from the vignette
