Couldn't agree more on the RR15. I had a pour at a bar ($48) and it made me go pay a bit of a premium for it....and I don't regret it at all. Important thing is its on my shelf. Great video as always!
Nice list! I’m really enjoying the Russell’s 15yr, Jack Daniels Coy Hill, Russell’s Rickhouse, JD 12yr, Smoke Eye Hill cask strength, Stagg 24b, Bombergers 2024, Bardstown Disco 12, Larceny BP C924, Booker’s Reserve, and Little Book Infinite to name a few! Cheers!
Nice video 🤘. However a question please as I have heard the same criteria from ADHD whisky channel as well. Why is it necessary for you to own the bottle for it to be part of the list ? A sample tasted or a pour from a bar could also be part of the list right?
I didn’t know that’s his criteria but for me it’s because I’ve had experiences before where I’ve ordered something at a bar and it absolutely absolutely wasn’t what I ordered and so for me it gives me the ability to go back to the bottle and try it again and see if it stands up throughout the year to the other things on the list
Nice list Brad! So proud of you finally coming around on the JD12 > JD10! 🤣 Even though I'm a "bourbon guy" ---- I'm going to remember 2024 as the Year of the Rye. So many good ryes this year, it has made me reconsider my position. Your list touched many of the familiar bottles that we have all heard/spoken about. One that I would suggest to you if you haven't tried it yet is: Balcones Cataleja Single Malt. Its a really unique pour. I typically am not a fan of Texas whiskies or Single Malts for that matter, but as I'm evolving with my preferences for rye this is a great bottle to try. IDK how available it is in your area, but hell, you might find it at Publix or WalMart. If you can get it, I think you're going to like it! Cheers!
Funny you say that. I just got sent samples of their newest one. I LOVE the Founders reserve. I actually helped pick one a few years back. Same mash bill, it just goes into the barrel at a higher proof. I’ve never had one I don’t like
Love to see JD making the list - sadly in Europe to get your hands on these bottles (12 & coy hill) you either need to break into shipping containers in Belgium or sell a house! Prices are outrageous & availability is almost non-existing. Wiping my tears with bottled in bond travelers exclusive at 33.41 EUR (34.73 USD)
It’s not just a normal conviction If it was just a regular bottle it wouldn’t of made a top ten But this is why I’m doing it blind for the final result
You had said here that you think Russell's 15 is going to be everyone's Bourbon Of The Year. I've been following the "Best Of 2024" (blind) lists and, so far out of 6 lists, it's only made Bourbon Of The Year *once* . It's averaging *3rd place* .
Coy Hill 2024 is 11yrs old so by default almost it’s just going to be better than the 10. The added proof probably makes it better than the 12 as well.
Interesting! The George T Stagg 2023 is the worst Stagg I've ever had. Biggest waste of money I've ever spent. I'll take almost any Stagg jr over this bottle. But, obviously, your bottle is different than mine.
OR…OR…..OOOOOOR you have horrible taste in bourbon!?!? 🤣🤣 Kidding. Sucks you didn’t like it I think it’s one of the best bourbons I’ve had (I’ve had a crap ton of staggs and Stagg jrs)
Great list
I suggest you make one for bottles that the average guy could actually find.
Bro I am a average guy
But maybe a non allocated bourbons of the year
@
Lmao
No, you have some serious luck on your side!!!!
Working 60-70 hours a week and liquor stores being closed on Sundays. Compounded with a family.

If that's the case, look for Private Stock (Limestone Farms). All of these in the video are great bottles though. Going to get Coy Hill Sunday.

Solid list my guy!
Congrats, I haven't even seen those.😢
OF barrel pick from floor 8...that floor could be part of the secret sauce

Thank you Jimmy!
Who’s Jimmy🤣
@bradsbourbonreviews Jimmy Russell man!

Only this years 10 2 is still goat! I will certainly look for that Balcones I adore them
Just out of curiosity, when a group of people go and do a barrel pic, how many barrels do they generally choose from.?
Totally depends on the distillery
Typically around 3-4
good list, alas unlikely to ever get any of those bottles. it's a shame really :(
I’m putting out positive vibes for you buddy!
@@bradsbourbonreviews :) Thanks :)
What are those jacks to the back right?
The masters distillers series
How does the Conviction Founder Reserve cask strength compare to the ones on this video?
Funny you say that. I just got sent samples of their newest one.
I LOVE the Founders reserve. I actually helped pick one a few years back.

I’m a big big big JD fan. And that SUCKS to hear that, that’s awful man. But the traveler BIB ain’t bad at all!
Mine was 13th colony double oaked. It’s just out of this world
Followed up by RR15. Heck of a bourbon
I just got a sample from a patron, I can not wait to try this
It’s really special
Great list. I'm hoping to get a RR15 at a drop tomorrow. Cheers🥃🥃
Good luck buddy!
@bradsbourbonreviews thanks man. I remember seeing you at a couple NC drops last year. Looks like Florida is treating you right tho
@bradsbourbonreviews MMCA24 fresh crack was great too BTW lol
Bro Cedar Ridge double barrel rye came out of Iowa this year and it’s fire
I am not aware of this 👀👀👀👀
💯 with Barrel 456. Can't believe they tossed my sample😢 I saved.
NOOOOOOO
My Old Forester sbbp is 131 proof but drinks like 151
That’s not good🤣
Conviction over RR15…. 😂
It’s not just a normal conviction

SGD FTW 🎉 🔥
Absolutely!

Id probably say it’s better than those
George T Stagg at 700- 900 a bottle no way nothing’s that good
I didn’t pay that. I paid 125
Shit dude…try $39 bucks at Costco for the WT 70th. Now where would it rank?
Did you watch the video it made the list lol
Yeah. Lol. I meant you called it out at $59. At $39 makes it even better.
Isn't MSRP $50?
What's the point, no one can get there hands on any of these?
It matters as they were the best bourbons I’ve personally had this year, availability doesn’t matter when I’m ranking the best whiskies of the year
Not a huge fan of the conviction stuff that I’ve had but pretty good list otherwise
These are outliers even for them who I am a massive fan of.

You need to do blind in black glen glasses
I am actually gonna wear an eye covering
