Hey Brad, solid list you got there. Have you had Doc Swinson Sessions? If not, you should blind it with Eagle Rare. They taste almost identical to me. Might be a gr8 sub for someone who can't find ER 10. EHT smb is really good but if the BP Rye were more available, that would my go to. I'm drinking my smb to keep me from my only EHT bp b13.😅 I'm also a victim of the ER10 cycle. I went back to it recently and I had trouble putting it down. Cheers

My go-to right now is knob creek 12 year now that my local spot always has it in stock for $49.99. It’s the perfect blend of age and proof for my taste and at $50 I don’t feel bad going back to it over and over

Love the JDSBBP, my favorite bourbon. The Russell 70 is amazing, found it for $42, cannot find a backup, shame on me. The only West I have is the double rye, amazing. I found a Yellowstone Hand picked single barrel, normally $59.99 for $29.99. It's hot, but I like hot, and it's tasty.

The Evan Williams single barrel is good to you as of now, find a 2009. It's my favorite Evan Williams ever. I would love to have 100 bottles of that year.

Imagine what a little more aging would do, it is said to be currently at 6yrs. old

It's online stated that this product is finished in 2 toasted barrels, side by side it has a richer amber color than the 7yr black label.

Conviction double oak is garbage. It was super young and flat.

About the only ones of these we can get is the FRSB select and JDSBBP. We do not get store picks of the JD. I have a bottle of the FRSB select but have not opened it up but I have liked any of their products I have tried so far so my guess is I will like that. I see High West on the shelves but I think it is different than what you have. I only have 1 really go to bourbon right now and that is Woodford Reserve. I love OF1910, OF1920, FRSiB, and JDSBBP for higher quality and FR green label, and OF 86 or 100 for budget stuff. Being new to bourbon I have a lot of things I want to try before I really decide on go tos.

I've got a bottle of Conviction Founders Reserve I haven't opened yet and I'm doing dry January. Oh well maybe next week, looking forward to it. Eagle Rare is a great go-to and I can find it pretty easily, enough to keep it on hand anyway. I like the OF single barrels too and they're getting pretty easy to find.

I have 5 rebuys. 4 of 5 are made in Clermont or Louisville, Kentucky. More for winter is the 100 proof Early Times. More for summer the 90 proof Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey. Also the 100 proof Coopers' Craft and 100 proof Old Grand-Dad. From Owensboro, Kentucky the Green River Full Proof, especially if it is on sale for $40.

Great list for me Knob Creek 12, Eagle Rare, Old Grandad 114, Buffalo Trace, Jack Sibs, Frey Ranch Sib, Still Austin Cask Strength & Driftless Glen 5 yr Bourbon all are my starters before I dive into my Sibs or LEs.

I like to make a shortlist of my fave bourbons in a few categories. Like wheated sippers, standard sippers, budget mixers, and budget sippers. Right now I have maybe 10 or so that are keepers across all categories. In the fairly available to always available categories. Honestly, high value always-available bourbons are tough to find in high sweetness, no bite, no bitterness, no burn flavor profile.

Eagle Rare is one that I share with people who want to try whiskey other than Jack, Jim, etc. It is sweet and does not "burn". And agree with the 70th Anniversary!

Just starting my bourbon journey and quite amateur. Do you have a top 5 or 3 that would be a good starting point? At this point I have a Woodson whiskey, Traverse City whiskey and a Makers Mark. Guidance would be appreciated 🥃

Double, or Double Double is not a regulated term and therefor has no legal meaning. You have to go with the distillery info. Anyone can claim double oaked no matter what.

I had a chance to try to Weller Millenium and all I can say was that it was underwhelming. Probably no better than regular Weller. Oh, and I am not worth 40 million either. It was provided by someone who had a media sample.

I bought the Bardstown High Wheat and it’s great. Any reason to try the black label BiB at the same price?

$200 for a 90 proof and it doesn’t even have a horsey?!
