I don't get the 80 proofer, but the bottled-in-bond is without a doubt the best value bourbon. Then followed up by Old Forester 100 and Early Times BIB.
I have tried several dozen bourbons with a can of Vanilla Coke, and 80 proof JTS Brown is the King. I can buy a 1L bottle here in KC for $9.99 plus tax.
One of my drinking buddies prefers this with his Coke instead of Jack Daniels or Four Roses. I have had it ---- is a great inexpensive mixer when make large quantities of drinks for parties. Not my jam though for sipping neat! Cheers!
Can’t do plastic bottle won’t even drink WT 101 from the plastic quart bottles and I always have the bourbon and rye on my counter. Just me but if it’s in a plastic bottle I’m out. I’m okay with screw tops. And the other hit against this is the 40abv product haven’t bought one in 30 years. Even 45abv are few in my collection. I understand that this brand does come in 750ml glass bottles but they don’t hit around my area.
I’m typically with you with the plastic thing. I minimize contact with it. I also understand the proof thing, I’m typically a high proof guy, but I stand by this one. It’s a decent pour/mixer.

I've dialed-in my old fashioned with this and each drink is around 90 cents. You can't freaking beat it. Cheers!

JTS Brown bib is a go to of mine. Can't beat the price for what you get. I love taking it on camping trips as it has a screw cap.
