Green River Full Proof $49, Bardstown Origin $39 for the bourbon and around $45 for the rest. Just beyond your budget but worth the stretch - Larceny Barrel Proof B524 $56 right now (on sale several places to get rid of it before the C924 release).
Wild turkey 101 for 21 at Trader Joe’s Kirkland -Costco BIB for 23 (by Barton 1792) Redwood empire lost monarch and redwood empire -32 bucks Green River wheated -34. Green River full proof 50 Knob creek 9 35-40 Buffalo Trace -26 1792 small batch 29
Bardstown Origins series, Buffalo Trace/Russell 10, knob creek 12 (if under $70), heaven hill BiB (if under $45), 1792 BiB (if under $50). Benchmark bottles (they're under $25 in my area). Ancient Age ($15 in my area).
I get the Benchmark Full Proof for $19.99, OF Signature for $22.99, OGD 114 is just ok for me, great bargain, good mixer, $23.99. My bargain bottles, Benchmark Top Floor, amazing, $13.49, Wheel Horse Bourbon, $23.99, Buffalo Trace, hard to find, $27.99, Knob Creek 9, $31.99, and WT Rare Breed, amazing, $43.99
My favorite budget bourbon is Maker's Mark Cask Strength. It costs $38.99 at Kroger in Northern Kentucky. I also like Chattanooga Whiskey Cask 111 for $38 at Liquor Barn in Northern Kentucky. It's a little young at 2 years old, but they use the Solara aging process that ages the juice faster. Finally, upon multiple recommendations, I picked up a Bench Mark Full Proof yesterday. So far, I can't stand it. I spent this morning decanting the juice twice, trying to calm it down. It helped a little, but still. Talk about rough edges. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.
Shhhh! Nathan, you nailed it. That TJ bourbon is great, but I didn't want the secret out. I think that OF86 might be better than the OF100, but I realize I'm an out layer. Great selections, thanks for sharing. I know there is only so much you can do, but the more blinds/content of budget/value bottles at 90-101 proof the better. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Best budget bourbon under $25 -Benchmark anything but normally have the Bonded -Evan Williams 1783 -Rebel 100 bourbon -JTS Brown BiB -Old Grand Dad Bib
Buffalo Trace or Knob Creek 9 for here in South Africa. I can quite easily find BT for under R400 ($22) and KC for around R600 ($33). I would love if we had a better high proof selection in the country
I think the TJ’s bourbon might be sourced from Barton. I’d put it up against VOB or 1792 SB and see if you can pull out any similarities in the flavor profiles. Bananas in each for me.
I'm good with all of these recommended in the video. I recently found an interesting whiskey. At $14.99 (Benjamin Chapman 7 yr rye 90 proof.) I'm waiting for someone to throw it into a blind tasting in the $20 to $35 dollar range. I believe it would hold up well. I'm certainly happy with it.
Personally I rarely pick up budget Bourbons unless it’s a store pick, but 1792 small batch and Knob Creek 9 are some of my budget bangers Never had a store pick blue note but the regs are $32 around my area and they are great also
I don’t believe OGD 114 will be discontinued however Old Tub is no longer available in my area. And it was from JB. And WT 101 and coopers craft 100 EW bib need to be on this list.
Benchmark Single Barrel, Buffalo Trace, Rebel Small Batch, Green River Wheated, Early Times BIB, Coopers Craft, Alberta Premium Rye. Forgot some I am sure. Bardstown High Wheat is my new favorite.

Blue Note at every price point. Just picked up the barrel strength finished in a honey barrel at Ceasars in Memphis.

Knob 12 was eh it’s not worth 70. I’d take 1792 full proof or baby Jane over that 12 everyday of the week.
Thanks - never heard about Trader Joe’s Bourbon
It’s a goodie for the price
