    This worked great on an older Pioneer from the 70's which I love to use. We could never afford one back then and now to stream to it is a joy. Thank you for spreading your knowledge. You have a very easy to understand of teaching as well

    I connected my bluetooth first to a Pioneer graphic equalizer and this one to my vintage audio receiver Pioneer SX-1080, with 4 big tower speakers. The resulting sound from my cellphone in spotify music is awsome.

    Been there, done that. For those feeling technical it’s nice to integrate a Bluetooth module into something so it’s all internal. I have done a few items like this including a neat little technics shelf system.

      One of my first installations I mounted the BT module in the Stereo. Worked well but I had poor range. I took the module out and mounted it on top of my receiver.. Much better range (just a few feet, but no more cutting out when I move from room to room)
      Thanks for your comment....BB23

    And the highlight of this video was you mentioning x-96 (listened since they began in mid 90s when. I was in jr.high) but I actually yelled out "hell ya!" Been missing X-96, SLC and even Washington. So thank you for making a music buff day on many many levels!

This video is a bit dated and you may want to check out this one. Bluetooth has come a long way. ruclips.net/video/8AjZPbF8W24/видео.html

    I did something almost identical to this with my antique (1967) Magnavox console stereo. However, my setup adds a stage to address an irritating problem I have with many portable devices - a noticeably weaker audio signal when compared to other audio sources, like a tape deck, CD player, tuner, or record player. To deal with this, I've added a TEC TC780-LC line level booster between the Bluetooth module and the AUX (tape-in) connections of the stereo. Both the Bluetooth receiver and thd line booster are powered from a switched AC outlet I wired in. Not the most elegant solution, but both the BT receiver and the line booster are installed on the back panel of the stereo, hidden from view but easily accessible. There are no permanent modifications; the external hardware can be removed and the internal modifications can be reversed easily, all in less than an hour.

    I have one of those crosley stereos that came with bluetooth. I hooked up my sony mp3 walkman to it and it paired fine. The problem is the volume control on my mp3 will not work on this stereo. I can select and play songs without a problem but no volume. I have to use the stereo itself for volume. The stereo has an aux setting and red and white rca connections in the back. My question is...will I have better luck using a bluetooth transmitter rather than the bluetooth that came with the stereo? Will it be a stronger signal in some way?

    I'm curious - I have my entire music collection on my iMac computer. Is there a way I can connect the bluetooth in iMac to connect to a device connected to my AV/Amp using a bluetooth receiver?
    It would seem to me you should be able to connect to the AV/Bluetooth device just like it was a set of BT headphones as far as the AV/Receiver was concerned.

    Trying to go the opposite way. Have a speaker system in back yard with bluetooth receiver. Works great if you use phone to send content. I want to send content from receiver into BT transmitter and into yard speakers. Bought a transmitter w RCA ins on Amazon, but no volume. Then added a small amp, but seems to overload. I recently bought a gadget to make my HD TV bluetooth. It actually works two bluetooth headphones simultaneously. And, the sound is crisp, but it’s not in stereo! Hopefully your technique will accomplish that for my classic receiver as well as for my 10+ yrs Sony STR-DE197.

    I recently purchased an Ifi Zen blue, blue tooth DAC for $129 , not as cheap as the unit you are talking about. If you are concerned with sound Quality this unit is a good choice. I just use those portable rechargeable bluetooth transmitters/receivers and I love them you can take them anywhere and don't need to connect any wires the one I use is by Tio Tronics or something like that, and it's great I just use the aux out to rca.

      If you are using the 3.5 mm headphone jack you are not getting proper signal impedance, you will get audio but not clean signal as compared to a real RCA line level.

      I have never seen an AUX or CD input go bad, you may want to check your input settings. Have you tried a Tape input? And yes you are correct, the phono input is way to sensitive as it already has a preamp and RIAA equalization.

    How can i extend the BT signal another 4 or 5 meters?
    i have solar batteries in the garage managed by a BMS that sends all the info (cell voltages,amps, resistances,Ah ) out to my cellphone inside the house via BT, but the signal stays short a couple of meters from where i sit.

      Bluetooth is a radio, I would try moving the BMS either and or... Up higher, away from an AC outlet and in wall wire, add an external antenna to the BMS. Problem is that the BMS has electrical interference all around it, wires in/out and physical blockage of signals of the garage and home walls electrical wires, as well as wireless devices in your home. Lots to deal with and sounds like a fun project, cheers and good luck.

    Hello, Very good information some of which I have been trying to figure out for a couple of years. I take it from what you are saying that I can take an old non service cell phone and use it as a wi fi connection to my now blue toothed stereo?
    That is what I want to do. I have a two room shop where while I am working I like to listen to Pandora. I have already gone through two different cheap "bluetooth speakers". I want to be able to click on a switch and have Pandora. I have wire connected speaker station in the one room and the other speaker in another room. The wi fi router is in that room also. I don't want to have to leave my active cell phone there as I move around the shop (signal drops in and out) but would love to have a way the Pandora could be independent. So is there a way to do that? Would an old inactive cell phone with bluetooth be able to be dedicated to this alone (battery is shot but I could leave it plugged in to its charger) and have my old house stereo (which has the wattage I need) with the blue tooth receiver pick up my Pandora. It is not even critical that it be stereo as it is a shop environment but I do want the speaker in each room so I can hear it at reasonable sound levels.
    I always thought the inactive cell phones went 'dead' except for the 911 feature? Also will these receivers operate the new longer range 2.1 bluetooth (50 feet I believe in optimum conditions)?
    This would be a great answer to my problem if it is possible. Thanks again for a needed video. Doug Thompson

      Douglas Thompson you could go a lot simpler if the old stereo has an input jack and the old phone has a headphone jack. Just plug the phone into the stereo using an audio cable. Then as long as you have WiFi you can play Pandora over the phone through the speakers.

    Thanks for this video. I have some old KEF speakers and Yamaha receiver and I was going to give them away because I didn’t think I could connect with my new Samsung tv. Now I’ll just use your hack and skip buying a new sound bar. :)

      I would not use BT for what you want to do. IMO, I would take audio from your tv, and plug into an AUX or Tape input to your receiver.
      You will need a 3.5nn to RCA cord to do this. Plug the mini 3.5 jack to your tv's audio output and plug the male RCA's into a AUX or Tape in. Doing it this way will give you MUCH better audio..... BB23

      So I hooked up my system like you said but I do not have volume control on my TV remote. If I used BT would I gain volume control on my TV remote?

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  6 лет назад

      Check the manual for the TV, Do you have an audio output that can be controlled.
      Im going to try to do what you are trying to do in the morning on my new LG 65". Both BT and audio out to my receiver.

    great stuff. could a person add a bluetooth range extender like the miccus rtx 2.0 to this setup? Also...in an outdoor setting, how far would the range be with and without a range extender.thanks

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  4 года назад

      Yes the RTX would be a good choice for the long range you want. Guaranteed range through wall etc ? NO. Every home is different because of walls wiring and so on. Still worth a try.
      Real easy to hook up, basically the same way as in this video except the AC adapter plugs in the unit and makes a simpler install.
      Cheers.

    I have some awesome late 70’s towers design acoustics. Don’t really wanna wire them to a receiver anymore. Is there a Bluetooth kit there can somehow hook hese things up to? Maybe not anymore but when I was a teenager, they were awesome.!
