Hey folks! I'm in awe of Dubwise's mods - including, but not limited to the mint menus, the rimefeller oil production, and bad hygiene. Seriously, I was missing out on a lot before this, though might not go without them again awhile. For anyone with high-fidelity sound setups, apologies for the buzzing from about 5 minutes that persists for a bit - I've been dealing with strange audio interference for the last couple weeks and I've been procrastinating to get things figured out with my cable management, though every time I move my foot underneath my desk, it causes the sound. Otherwise, hope this playthrough sparks some ideas!

ambiguousamphibian I can’t wait to see this series and your channel grow
ambiguousamphibian MMOORREE... give me more :)
Hey ambiguous I love your gameplay and just love your channel good job on the series
Thanks! Just a pleasure to do these ones - the androids mod is a blast if you haven't tried it yet, too
"Sonny, remove the patient's toe."
**cuts off the entire foot**
_"His toe is no longer attached to his body sir."_
That was sad ueheueh6ehe
Sonny: "Im taking no chances."
Didn't say which one ... v°v
Task failed successfully.
*watches ambiguous put a bunch of turrets in a line* “thats just an explosive domino waiting to happen.”
Shortly after: *big explosion*
Yep XD
Then- rebuilds the domino effect again.
i was like put a wall in between the ffs lol, or would the barricade work better?
stubborn Viking oh i know, im just sitting here with my popcorn watching him set up turrets and oil. “This can only go well”
Exacly
I love how you talk in Sonny's perspective, it really gives a story teller vibe. The entire point of Rimworld is to tell a story, and with your format and voice, you just subconsciously lean in, like listening to a campfire story. I got into your content in the 100 colonist series, and feel like you have evolved from level 30 mob, to level 70 lord. Still room to grow, yet a large improvement none the less.
This makes it all worth it
yeah, i have to agree
I love it when people lean into the "personal" aspect of Rimworld. A lot of RUclipsrs seem to kind of ignore it as they're only focused on the more meta stuff, and if you're not looking for the story detail, it can get completely missed.
One time one of my mvp colonists died, they buried him in the tomb, and then had a funeral; but the mvps fiancee (they were literally just going to get married) was the only person to not go to the funeral and she spent the whole funeral sitting in her room praying. The funeral ended, and she came out of her room and went into the tomb to be alone with her fiancee. I know that most of that was chance stuff, but that kind of spontaneous creepy-level story detail saturates this game and it's so easily missed if you're not looking
@@tommeakin1732 thats pretty cool, even if it was probably chance. but yes a lot of rimworld youtubers just do meta, not doing much story. this is why i like watching ambiguousamphibian so much, really
@@hbombdotcom If you're into the storytelling aspect you should look at Aavaks Rimworld series :D He takes it slow compared to most people, and he pays a lot of attention to the micro
Thank goodness this series is being continued. Besides the Kenshi gameplays this has to be one of my favs! Keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
Same, I was introduced from Kenshi. Still waiting for a crab run (somehow) But I do love these aswell.
Same
Same
Oil, neat! Wait, what are you doing putting them so close to the flame throwers?
Oh god
Oh no
Stop
Please no
"oil is good for energy but not so good for staying alive"
You can click on the hammer icon in the bottom right so things that get destroyed will automatically get rebuilt
if you're staying with flamethrowers for Killbox 2.0, you might add a band of wooden floor around the entrance to the killbox: it stays burning for way longer, which means the flames on the ground are bigger, which means enemies catch fire easier.
Maybe putting flamethrowers 30 feet from your oil rigs wasn't such a great idea lol
"He had beer. He had beer? I guess he's Bender from Futurama."
You unlike other ppl *cough* trm plays, finishes their well made colonies thank you for making amazing content you underrated god
Haha, actually trmplays inspired many of my series and a lot of the editing I use now that you mention it ^.^ I think that might be my new favorite running meme. Can it be both?
@@ambiguousamphibian of course keep it up
@@ambiguousamphibian just uh, don't go restarting series every week like him. :P
To be honest at least you finish your series. I love his videos but I hate the fact that he never finishes the series, makes me think he has really low attention span to his own colonies.
@@Bornkiller1463 well there could be a lot of reasons so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt
Why not just move the walls up a bit where you had the wells originally and wall off the route to the killbox, effectively sealing your chemfuel production off from the entrance? Great series, btw. I loved the Robodaddy series from Roll's channel and this is a cool spinoff from that idea, not limited to the single colonist but expanding on the automation/android idea. Maybe you can make a Robomummy for Sonny and call her Cher? lol
You have no idea how excited I was for this episode, I've liked your other series in Rimworld but this one feels extra special somehow.
Thanks, that means a lot! Glad you enjoy and grateful for the kindness ^.^
a tip for the winter, you can switch on "use battery" on the androids and make a few more of those pods because if they "sleep" there they can charge up and use no food just power
I love these videos, the Kenshi series are my favourite, I hope he starts another, but I understand he’s probably tired of that game. If he does play it again, I’m hoping for a Samurai playthrough, he could have a lord, and a few Samurai, plus some foot soldiers, and finally some workers, and he could have a village.
Thanks ^.^ Tbh, the good ideas keep it fresh and it's good to rediscover it every now and then. Always grateful for the kindness and ideas!
man,his narrating makes it feel like a story rather than just a game,I love that
Seeing Ambiguous place turrets in a row and then watch them get domino exploded over, and over, and over, and over was starting to make my bones hurt.
I haven't finished watching the video yet but seeing you put all those turrets just in a line right next to each other makes me really anxious for the coming chain explosion.
aaaand called it.
Please space out your turrets since one will blow up the one next to it and so on once one gets too damaged.
He does stupid shit for show
Your editing is on point, and just a super solid ep all around. Enjoying the different feel these mods are giving to the traditional rimworld experience.
Who knew sticking an entire oil industry into a room filled with flamethrower turrets would backfire?
I found your stuff by accident and I'm really glad I did! You have great content dude, you've made watching someone play rimworld actually fun
If only Sonny knew how to make Androids the same way they made Nokias...
Minus well turn on godmode
One of my favorite types of defenses I came up with was creating a giant spiral around the entire map. In just about 3-4 loops of spirals enemies tend to starve/give up before they even reach the main entrance of the base, and then just slowly walk back outside, sometimes dying of starvation. Raiders don't attack the walls as long as a colonist is attackable via pathing (although they will randomly set wooden walls on fire while walking through, so non-flammeable walls are kind of required).
Although, another problem I ended up running into is, that wildlife also ended up starving. Boomalopes in particular sometimes just randomly exploded and made holes in the walls, which is less than ideal
Further, I think the AI may rocognize a large amount of walls, as I did have a more frequent amount of just drop pods dropping on top of the base, rather than raiders attacking from the outside
I love this series! I’ve always loved the android mod ever since I first laid eyes on it!
(Another mod I’ve grown to love, is the rimworld of magic mod, it essentially lets you pick a class for each colonist, be they a gladiator, a monk, a pyrokinetic, or a storm mage or anything in between! I’d love to see you try it out sometime, if you’re willing!)
All these mods look amazing! Thank you so much for having them in the description.
I could watch this for hours. I absolutely love it.
technically, your tenth one should have been named "A" to continue in hexadecimal.
Reaches the 16th: Oh no.
Your Rimworld content is why I ended up falling in love with your channel and your comedic style. I can't wait for more!
I really enjoy this format, thanks for the great vids!
I've watched every one of your series since torso and the hand and honestly this is probably the most entertaining yet. I'm super keen to see how it pans out, and to get back into rimworld myself with the same mods.
Who would have guessed that FIRE turrets right next to OIL wells would be a bad idea.
Loving this series thus far. Keep up the awesome work!
Holy cow, those insects raids are massive! The flame turrets are acting more like IED bombs.
i like this a lot because it sounds like a story narrated everything so i can listen to it a lot easier
Whoa whoa whoa, hold up. You're building a slug turret right next to your oil production, which are both next to your battery room?
Oh this gonna be gud
i love that og skype sound every now and then in the recording :D, it just reminds me of the glee when ur pals responded and we went to play something
Oh Yes! More androids!!!
I'd recommend making a wall between the oil and your little flame box. Trap the flames and heat in for more devestation
I love your modded rimworld series it’s always fun to see people play with mods I’m not familiar with
Easily one of my top Rimworld playlists.
I hope you continue this storyline. 👍👍🤙
This is a good RUclipsr, ambiguous needs more subs ngl
If you wanna use quarries as your primary source of resources gained from mining, and you also intend to build up your base with stone, I suggest going for a place with Granite.
You should produce chem fuel containers , store them in your kill box , and then use them as napalm containers 👌🏻 love the series so far please keep it going !
Gotta admit, placing the line of flamethrower turrets 5 feet down the hall from the oil rigs was a real chad move, shame it didn't pad out too well
Whilst I work from home there are significant gaps to get more work whilst I finish. So I watch your videos. Very entertaining keep up the good work! :)
I'm loving this series so far, please keep going.
Excited for a new RimWorld playthrough!
Advice:
1) move the entrance to your killbox to the eastern wall, then you can line up your turrets in a firing line and give them more range.
2) Make exterior doors metal so they dont burn
3) Wall off the oil drills to protect them
This is already my favourite youtube video you have made
I love your videos 🥰 I've had a pretty hard week and I've binge watched most of your rimworld series, cant wait for more
Please try oxygen not included 😂
Androids tend to add a lot of wealth to the colony depending on the tier even a t1 android can add a bit of wealth for 1 or 2 raiders. Also I suggest using "Show Mod Designators" mod, it helps with knowing what stuff comes from what mod. Cheers and have a fantastic day.
God, i feel bad for Zane. Nobody deserves that fate
I’m surprised you aren’t getting more views for this these are really good!
Great series I’ve got on RUclips the past day about 20 times checking if there was a new ep
i want to thank you for making vids like this running out of shows or anime to watch i found your vids most injoy able i want to ask that you make some more you have done such a good job even tho i can't play this game my self i want you to know i injoy watching you so i thank you for this good time .
All of that boom made this a very satisfying video. Look forward to a new defense failing to sappers.
Oh my! Your series is the best of Rimworld, i never had beeing raided by too many bugs hahaha
I'm really enjoying watching the reactionary learning process
lol I spent 1 hour setting up the moldiest in the exact order and its great thank you sir.
Dude you and your videos make me so happy, thanks for being you :)
Your base design is so chaotic, but I guess it fits in well with the rest of the chaos that's happening lol
AA: Muhuhahahah Oil for everyone
Burning Bug: Let me just roll around in this flammable liquid
Jesus Christ! Is that rimworld: factorio edition? Great!!
I've been looking forward for this episode thank you for this.
The android Beer Gang... Wow this game is full of surprises.
Those flamethrowers are a thing of beauty!
nice video, I want more :D thank you for your hard work.
That Megapede ran in there like the suicide Uruk at Helms Deep.
With all your chemfuel, might be fun to use inordinate amounts of mortars and napalm.
This series already makes me want to play rimworld all over again
So Happy to see another episode of this!!
"So horrible, so beautiful!"-ambiguousamphibian 8/31/20
Oil Fuels - "Great for power, not great for staying alive"
-ambiguousamphibian 2020
My dude, sandbags only slow enemies down when they get on the first one, so you should build them like this: [S] [E] [S] [E] [S] (E - empty, S - sandbag) to make enemies constantly climb on and off. Same with stone/metal chunks. You could probably even put traps in the empty spaces. Other than that, good job with the colony! 👍
You can make android charger stations with a bit of research and a chunk of silver and stuff. That way, you don't have to straggle around looking for food.
Also, you need embrasures to protect the turrets from the insects.
Been watching for a while, but I'll be damned I just can't seem to nail down what kinda amphibian this guy is.
"He had beer, maybe its bender from futurama" xD my god man you crack me up
Hey dude I like ur voice it gives the swagger soul vibe without the apparent loss of brain cells
You should block in the fire killbox with a held-open door so that as they burn, you can seal them in to be cooked in an oven-esque fashion, then vent the heat so you don't burn to death as you collect their bodies
Ah yes more of the robot roleplay i enjoy
Really like this series
this series is great, please more of that
I have seen a lot of your videos in the last 2 days. You just got a sub! Love the Rimworld content. You should make some tarkov videos I think you could be funny in that game. :D
An oil well behind the flamethrower turrets...that'll end well.
Since you have robots, you should try making a killbox that is extremely hot. It may not stop mechs but bugs that come in will go into a heat coma. A geothermal power generator with roofs right along that killbox will ensure no bug gets far.
Amazing video amazing series Good Job
**Builds Automated Flamethrower Turrets bright next to a giant oil rig**.
This will be interesting.
2 things I think would help. Double or triple thick your outside walls that will deter the enemies from mining through them. Also since you have so much fire: seal in your kill box to make it a room with doors. Once all the organic enemies are inside, close the doors and let the heat roast them.
Just so you know, you can transfer androids consciousness to other androids with a antenna tower, that way you dont get too many people. But you can still get higher ranked androids
I’m loving this series
I wonder if you got the idea for this series from my comment?
Awesome to see this series, it's actually quite interesting!
I think the decision to have flame throwers near the oil rigs was a tactical miscalculation on the part of the robots.
One of the things i noticed you really need to do is set different zones, such as raid, air drop, inside, and such so that you dont have the issues of your workers constantly running into the front lines during a heavy extended fight. If you don't like having to constantly set your pawns manually each time during a raid, the mod, Better Pawn Controls, allows you to set policies that saves pawns zones, foods, and schedules.
I was gonna say "I don't think it's a good idea to put flamethrowers near the oil rigs." and I wasn't wrong.
Bad idea to construct the flame throwers next to the oil well, good video dough
I fking lol when the chain explosion happened xD
Someone in the comments mentioned a "story teller vibe" and I immediately went "AA AI Storyteller"
Cant wait for the steam modlist
I love this series.
Honestly just saw a row of turrets and thought the whole kill box was designed to blow up. Not sure which, but there are some security mods that add red barrels. Really useful!
put your turrets behind those walls that allow you to shoot through, then put sandbags in front of that wall, it will prevent the turrets from being rushed and killed so quickly
