We had a blast exploring a few new areas outside of the typical Mojave Road route and scored some really beautiful campsites this time around.
In this episode I also do my best to meet (or beat) the high "camp cuisine" standard that Sarah has etched in stone... I might have come close on a couple dishes, but you never can be sure about the judges!
The ground tent was definitely an interesting change for us. I have to say I really quite enjoyed the standing room and once we got a routine in place; the setup and breakdown wasn't so bad either. Being able to run the heater all night (when I had enough battery and fuel) was a HUGE plus!
It's been pure joy watching Caroline finally get to spend some time with friends on this trip. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a bit choked up from time to time while editing this one.

The best part of these videos are the kids :) It's lovely to see kids enjoying getting out into nature and enjoying this beautiful world.
Wow watching your baby girl cooking "sghetti" had me choking up. She has grown so much! Great to see you guys teaching her how to cook while she is young enough to still want to lol. Thanks for another great video Kevin!
Is it just me....or does everyone see the sights and shake your head and say Wow. From the the mountains to the light shining through the lava flows to the cinnamon rolls. If I can't be there, I'm here!
So cool to see the girls enjoying the natural desert with their friends. What great memories they will have forever. Especially during current events. Instead of fear they will have wonder.
Laughed at how the girls played with the camera. Kids having a good time. As per usual, another great video, especially since it is Dad & Daughter time. Keep up the good work. Travel Safe.
Fantastic! Another great episode! Love the daddy-daughter trip!
Thanks so much! We had a blast!
I loved the cadre of little girls. These days I often go out with other Dads & their kids - it really helps you to stop & enjoy the little things to which you’ve become jaded - like the train & sliding in the sand on that episode. It was great to see than having such fun making faces too.
I like the bear walking intro and the clothing and headgear. Those kings sound so much quieter than the icons you had, I love them, got them on my tundra too.
Great video! The girls sure added a cute element! Huge dad points for you boys!
I grew up in the Majove in the little town of Trona (near the Trona Pinnacles!). We left there when I was in middle school and while we did see quite a bit, I am now longing to go back and explore more. I love the PNW, but these videos remind me of my childhood.
Love your cinematography & narration...thanks for sharing!
What a great adventure! I also love seeing how involved Caroline has become with the cooking :)
If a man wasn't sure he wanted to live the Overland life, this video will make up his mind! I'm currently building out my rig and counting down the days till I leave the corporate grind! Great video!
My favorite place in the world. It’s nice to see that you appreciate its beauty as well. Well done!
An episode that gives me that warm feeling in my heart. And I can't agree and back up those words around 21 min into the video more. Keep em coming.
Hi Kevin, the new intro is stunning. It will be interesting to know who had the most fun between you and Caroline with her friends. It is good to see the kids do crazy things by them self, and explore the dunes without any supervision from the adults. Only one problem before you know they are adults and away they go. Have a look at Caroline, mid 2019 she were still a little girl and look at her in this video... Sarah must be having a blast with her friends also.... 🤠
You and your family are an inspiration my friend my friend. Thanks for sharing your spectacular adventures with us!!
I grew up in the Mojave and have always spoke of its unique beauty. You have to visit it to truly be able to understand it’s wonder.
Great video!
Somehow the colors are super rich and crisp!
Great quality!
Another epic adventure. Your narration is wonderful and I thank you for sharing this with us.
I’ll go there one day for sure 🙌🏼 BEAUTIFUL!
I'd love to see your take on the Pacific Northwest! I always love your videos/videography, incorporation of family, and humor! I live in the PNW and would love to see it portrayed through your lens and see what places peak your interest!
Kids were delightful and hilarious!!! Amazing settings....thanks for sharing! 👍😉🇨🇦
lol!
other than a few "oh wow" moments for the views, you guys had me laughing the whole way thru!
looks like a fun trip, thanks for sharing!
Ate a lot of dry spaghetti as a kid, also raw potatoes with salt and pepper after rinsed so seasoning stuck. Something I shared with my mom.
Incredible footage as always Kevin! Also, anyone else get Indian Jones vibes from the lava tubes?
Been loving watching you guys all this time. Makes me even more anxious to get out and see the rest of the states.
Awesome video as usual! Love the daddy/daughter time! Also love the sweet sounds of the FZJ! Wish our 5th gens sounded as good
Awesome 👏 good times, they’ll remember that trip forever 😎
That was my favorite video I've ever seen from you guys. I havent seen them all but I've seen a lot. Partially because of the sweet Daddy daughter time, and also because of the little friends exploring and playing together. Not that videos with Sarah aren't great, and it will be good to have her back, but I know/assume this video was inspired by her being out with her BA ladies. Which I enjoyed watching those vids with my own two little daughrers. Well 9&11 anyways. You guys are the first youtube channel I recommend to friends wanting to get out more with their kids. Its hard to find good Overland content with kids. Soooo much easier to do it when its just you or you and one other adult. You should come to Rendezvous in the Ozarks or Moore. We just attended our first Moore Expo and cant wait to go back. Clay and Rachelle were there this year. They should fly you guys out for next year. Looking forward to more videos from you guys and Sarah's return. Cheers.
Amazing video my friends. Keep it up, it’s truly appreciated. Blessings 😂
Cinnamon roll bit was great. haha
We shipped out from Ft. Campbell Ky in July 1965 to do war games in that area with 2 1/2 ton trucks, Rt. 66 was the only paved rd in that area
Love your videos and the comments during the filming. Caroline is growing fast something a Daddy doesnt want to hear. She looks so much like her Mother..
Love this channel so much. Keep doing God's work
Another great episode!
Thanks for sharing!
looks like an epic adventure
The girl hit us with some Tim McGraw lyrics lol. I also laughed at the Dennys spaghetti.
Fine video. Enjoyed watching.
Such a Beautiful area. I'm hoping you come up the pnw someday. Would love to show you some of my spots
As I wait for Toyota to assemble trucks for a return to exploring (good by 5th wheel) I’m working my way forward on your last 3 years.
Also, kids you got to love them and here’s why, I miss being a kid (really still am) and when my people were little.
We’ll Done!!
You may have done it before, but try using Naan bread as a camp pizza "crust". It works great as you only have to cook/melt the toppings.
Good times!
This is family goals. Hope to build my 4Runner like this and make great memories
That was straight up AWESOME
I love my shift pod tent. It’s the same style as this but it reflects the light out so it’s always dark inside of it.
Great video. I know, I am a bit late on the viewing it.
I love my Gazelle T4. I have used a RTT a few times, they have their plusses. But so far I could not being myself to commit. If I was living out of it, I could see it. 🤷
A great video. I loved watching those girls playing and running.
P. S. Look up Craters of the moon in idaho. A few short hours north from your new home base. There is a ton of trails and camping to be had up there.
As usual, nice video. Weird question you might say but what brand of tarp is that under your T4 ? Does it let water drain away ? or is it waterproof where water can accumulate under the floor of the tent ? Thanks
Wonderful!
Great episode
A lot can be said for dry air and sunshine!
Thanks for the great views of that part of the Mojave that i've never seen, even after spending much of my early years in the 80's growing up around there. Have to get the right maps on Gaia next time i'm down there with the trailer. Wasn't sure if most of the trails were suitable for a 2wd suv or not by the looks of some of the roads you took.
You're very fortunate to be spending such quality time with your daughter.... great job filming the girls, some nice photography work in there!
Great episode love the views and trails, have you not got the turtle back trailer anymore 👍
BREATHTAKING BEAUTY COLORS VIEWS SCENERY VIDEO WEATHER FOOTAGE LANDSCAPE ! AWESOME DRONE FOOTAGE TOO! THANK YOU ! IS THE SAND DIFFERENT IN DIFFERENT PLACES / AREAS ? WHICH MEANS LESS OR MORE AIR IN THE TIRES . SKY WAS GORGEOUS ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED !
sittin here eatin a filet o' fish wishin i had a hartichoke arts pizza instead lol, great video, keep em coming!!
Great video.
Awesome video the kids were great love it all my family did more like this
What kind of tent is that?
That is a Gazelle T4 tent. I just picked up the T4 Overlanding edition and can't wait to use it.
Great video! I was just at Mojave last week and loved it. Weird question, but what is the tarp that you are using under the tent? It looks pretty robust compared to my harbor freight special
It’s on my bucket list
Glad to see I'm not the only one who eats uncooked spaghetti noodles. Lol
What tent did you use?
Cant wait to watch.
Dry spaghetti, excellent snack food. I probably ate more dry as a kid than I did as proper spaghetti. =)
Y'all ridin with your dad today right? Go ahead and have another cinnamon roll. LOL!!! Classic!!!
I love your Vlogs!!!
😂 there was already enough craziness in that 80 with all three girls in it! They didn’t need the extra sugar 🤪
:))))))) The girls are very funny. I really enjoyed that part.
Kevin, I am installing the Flowmaster Overland exhaust on my 4 Runner next week.
Awesome !!!
Beautiful
Very nice! Who watches and thumbs down? That’s pretty rude!
Kev, what did you use for a tent footprint? It looks really hefty and nice.
What is that grill oven box attachment?!?
WE EXPERIENCED THE LAVA TUBES ON THE BIG ISLAND IN HAWAII. WAS REALLY SOMETHING
What a great trip. The girls sure had a blast together. What tent was that?
Gazelle T4
@@kayak77 thank you
My 08 GX470 went into the shop today to get a 3" lift and 33's installed. Victory front bumper and winch on it's way also!
Awesome! Congrats on the build!
Hi from Pura Vida country. ❤
How did you get the badges on your roof?
I swore I saw Kev on Jeopardy the other night the dude looked just like him!
I'll take remote deserts for $500...
Wow lovely fantastic....
Watch for snakes!
Where is your Turtleback? Haven't seen it in awhile.

Mmmm a little burnt 😂😂
ANOTHER VIDEO🤗💕
Have you ever thought of leaving a GPX file in the discription below each YouTub trail you run. Thanks for the YouTub videos. Al Cassell AK funnnyfarm
Watched video and mashed like
See Kevin cook. Cook Kevin cook.
Haha, well we won't starve!
💜
Why do the rear vehicles stay so close to the next car sucking the dust? Dust kills engines so stay beyond the dust... my two sense.
Only for the filming 👍 you don't want to wait that long for the next rig 😉
@@LifestyleOverland Never thought of that.... we learn each and every day. God bless you all steve
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
Can a 2 wheel drive SUV make this trip?
