I have not done continuous line drawing before. So much fun! I'm 73 years old and promised myself to learn a new skill in 2024. I decided on watercolor, then was inspired to start a journal after watching several of your RUclips offerings. This series is just what I needed to begin, lessening the fear of the clean, blank, page!

This was my first time trying continuous line drawing (also at 73) and I enjoyed doing it. Using a pen instead of a pencil does help to slow me down and try for better detail of the frame.

I'm in the same position re watercolour and the sketch journal and the fear of the blank page. I'm 8 years younger, though.

Thank you for making this more accessible. I'm not good at drawing, and I've taken college intro-level courses, paid scads of money for online classes from "professional artists", I've tried the works. But your videos make this process NOT SCARY! You make me really believe that it's ok to make mistakes, and, more importantly, you make me believe that I can do this! Thank you so much!!

I picked up drawing again when I turned 50. (I’m 57 now)I too needed an outlet that made me HAPPY! I took art classes in middle school and high school but never felt “good enough”. I decided to teach myself to watercolor! I turned to RUclips for help and inspiration. I found you and various other artist. I am now a more experienced artist. But this class is helping me with basic lines and perspective. Learning to do something another way. I now sketch with my watercolor paintings and I know will this class will help me improve. My hand was cramping on this exercise though!😵‍💫👩🏻‍🎨

I drew what you had on the screen. My scissors turned out pretty good, my pen looked like a wild child drew it and my clip was ok. I'll put it down today and then rewatch this tomorrow and do another attempt. I find when I'm learning a new skill if I put it down for a day and then come back I improve. I have a goal, I want to be able to produce my own patterns for my embroidery that are originals.

53 years here... I've almost always drawn in some form, and I even took some mail-order courses when I was a teenager (I really like comics and manga), but now I wanted to start again from scratch, learn new things, techniques, and above all, start to relax while drawing, without worrying too much about showing my drawings to others (well, I always liked to "show off", but now I'm learning to do things for myself and not so much for others), I don't know if you understand what I just wrote (my first language is Spanish), greetings from Argentina!

I’ve Always wanted to try drawing. I always thought that my drawings looked bad, but sometimes I impress myself, with a visual reference. Finding your channel has made me realize that it’s not as bad as it seems, that being getting into the seemingly intimidating concept of drawing. I will do your exercises whenever I find free time, and it seems both relaxing, and beneficial. Thank you for beginning this journey for me. Definitely Gonna Subscribe And Stay Tuned For Your New Videos. 👍✌️🙌

Mistakes can just be redrawn, right on the same page. This is seen even in drawings of masters. Many contour lines for one area can be done, like replaying a phrase on a musical instrument to get it right, without expecting to avoid all mistakes. Nice pep talks
