ppl eat durian anytime. but it's better during morning. when u have another chance to Penang, go to Balik Pulau orchard. around 11am, was told they will drop around 10am thus u get the freshest durians. the one I went even had coconut trees. thus it was very cooling to eat durian then drink coocnut drink. if u eat the bitter ones, the coconut drink will taste very sweet. likewise if u eat musang king, the coconut drink taste like plain water.

Just had the idea that not only the mainland Chinese are crazy about the durians, the Japanese too are inreasingly going after them. It's like a trend that you can't miss to indulge in this luxury savoury. Soon, the West have to accept durians as a complement to the cheese they are used to. Yes, it's Asian cheese that has this pungent taste to fill up your gastronomical appetite.

'Duri' in Malay language means thorn or spike. the remaining '-an' is a part of word 'buah-buahan' which translates to fruits. so Durian literally means thorny or spikey fruit based on its outward appearance.

Well just saying.. Black thorn is one in a thousand.. Its tree produce less, and need better care.. Yeah, used to buy one whole piece before for my dad, its RM15o, get after less.. Its really Black Thorn.. 😍😍😍
Btw, next time, ask the seller the best durian they have.. Don't say you want a certain breed, like Musang King, D24, Black Thorn, Honey Durian.. DONT EVER TELL THE SELLER!! If they don't mention your preferred breed, then politely go.. Because they might give a different breed, at the same price..
My dad is a durian pro while Im not, I just have money 😅😅😅.. When we asked for Musang King, he gave a different one and dad notice this!! Seller even say lets cut it and try but the taste are really different.. He then bargain for half price, for the cut / opened fruit we ate.. Well, its not even quarter of the inital price!! He threat to lodge a report for fraud and eat without pay as he has camera, then luckily I have hunch also to record the incident after dad notice it.. Then, we manage to escape..

Ever in my life, as a malaysian, did I found the price is too high only for a single small durian. I usually bought common breed durian (CBD) lowest at 1KG = 20MYR. But, we waited for its season to flourish w vast numbers. Some of the CBD also do have the richness and sweetness - comparable to a D24-type. If you wanna find a cheap way to enjoy this delicacy, you should try some smaller stalls/night market where stomach can be stuffed with more reasonable prices.
TRY TO SEARCH THE DO’s AND DONT’s WHEN U WANNA EAT DURIAN. IT COULD LEAD TO SOME ADVERSE EFFECT TO BODY SHOULD YOU NOT HEED THIS WARNING.
