Right? The more you play it the more you somehow love it. Still think this is my fave 3ds FE and my overall fave OST for games; it's just so painfully beautiful! I imagine 20 years or so from now, when the 3ds titles become classics this'd one of the best among the bests!

Yes, that’s my main problem with songs like this (prime example Edge of Dawn). They try too hard to tell you a story, and the lyrics start to feel a bit “clunky” when they are actually sung with the melody in place. This song, however, does not have that problem.

It's a small thing, but Pheros' brief mention of once worshiping the Earth Mother in her battle dialogue with Chrom is heartwarming in retrospect; even though thousands of years passed, the people of Valentia never forgot all that Mila did for them.
I wish Awakening had been more respectful to the Lore and Stories of the old games tbh. If there was any country I think should have remained as one after 2000 years, I think it should have been Valentia, solely as a testament to how strong its people were even without their gods.

Dragons in FE just need *_a lot_* of good sleep. :3 And besides, *_Duma's_* madness in particular can easily be blamed on Jeddah/the cult's manipulations. Earth-dragon individuals like Loptous & Medeus are worse, since they *_always_* intended to torture/destroy humanity.

I hope and pray we will get a fire emblem game as good as this one again. Character designs alone top anything else in the franchise. Everything about it is so tasteful and beautiful. Despite the archaic gameplay it's still an excellent game and experience. Really sad how a lot of the newer fire emblem crowd brushed this game aside when it came out, too.
Honestly even though it's my 2nd fav game of all time, it got brushed aside for good reasons, because of coming out on 3ds when switch came out and due to the game having DLC worth MORE THEN THE ACTUAL GAME

Awakening and especially fates had the same thing going on. It's also not really fair to bring up the switch at all in this situation considering it was barely a month old when this game released + 3 houses was literally announced in the same Nintendo direct as this game.
Don't know why, but I love stories about mortals outgrowing their Gods, and the Gods finally coming to terms with the role they had to play is finished and releasing their grasp on mankind, so they can grow by themselves. A very specific narrative structure, to be sure. But both Shadows of Valentia and Radiant Dawn did it REALLY well, in the world of Fire Emblem.

Master Knight Three Houses is my favorite, with Awakening being my second. Then it’s Radiant Dawn, and I’ve also beaten all three paths of Fates, Blazing Blade, and I’m on Chapter 23 of Binding Blade. While Awakening and Fates have certain things over other FEs, I wouldn’t say that they’re the best. I’ll admit, the only reason why Awakening is one of my favorites is because it was my first FE. I can acknowledge that its story is pretty bad at certain points. For Fates, the strongest point is definitely the class system, with the gameplay being behind it, but the stories range from mediocre to literal garbage. I consider myself to be somewhat casual, but I can admit that Awakening and Fates aren’t the best.
And this is why this is the best Fire Emblem. Not to mention it was a breath of fresh air for me after the waifuism of the previous two entries. Fates especially. That one had so much weird new stuff in it, it felt good to go back to something more familiar.

I'm surprised that this song hasn't inspired a wave of "OC Daughter of Mila" fanfiction. A Manakete CAN live thousands of years after all and it would be interesting to read an Awakening fic where the Shepards learn of Grima's true origins that were revealed in this game. Someone who was part of that first battle with Grima 2000 years ago would be able to explain it properly.

They made and own a song so they have the right to take it down. Music is media like any film or TV show and has the right to be protected and isn't lesser. After finishing Fire Emblem Echoes, I thought it would be another Fates where I couldn’t play after the main story so when the credits came on I cried until I saw the title card and realized you can go to Archena.

This song seems so close yet so distant to me now, my sister took hold of my 3ds and deleted all 3 of my save files for shadows and with it the time and care I had put to my armies. Now all that’s left of my hours in valentia are the memories I made along the way.
I mean the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus is basically just the north of Valentia. I even considered the possibility of Fodlan being the same continent as Valm just in a different period but I don't think it makes any sense and it's most likely just a coincidence

Such a brutal, irrational world we live in. Some believe copyright, token of Nintendo's power is necessary to maintain order, but there are wrong, teacher: Copyright is to blame.
Even though there are people who dunk on Fire Emblem for becoming a "dating sim" (which I won't deny just based on the recent games having this as an option), without Awakening saving the series, we literally wouldn't be able to experience Gaiden and all the amazing things it has to offer as a remake in the form of Echoes.
Its a deep song about loss. Imagine being thrown into war to save your world to find out that the king and Prince that you slain along the way were your Father and relative which wanted you to do it. When I learned of the kings identity and his motive to be defeated by his son left me feeling guilty and dead on the inside but determined to finish what I have started.
This song is sad when you realize the units that you let die are probably going to be the first ones shown. And after the previous games, the plot armored characters still die in the end...
I must say that this is really a beautiful song. Though I only saw part of the title and thought it was a sequal to Skies of Arcadia. Still glad I listened to the song though.

I consider myself to be somewhat casual, but I can admit that Awakening and Fates aren’t the best.
And this is why this is the best Fire Emblem. Not to mention it was a breath of fresh air for me after the waifuism of the previous two entries. Fates especially. That one had so much weird new stuff in it, it felt good to go back to something more familiar.

You're right, but I'd like to think that Arcadia is the birth place of all the dragons in the series (Naga, Duma, Idunn, Mila, Nagi, Tiki etc)

This song represents so many memories for me. It’s the first time I’ve heard an English translation to a Japanese media and felt as though the English version was executed perfectly with preference.
I'm surprised that this song hasn't inspired a wave of "OC Daughter of Mila" fanfiction. A Manakete CAN live thousands of years after all and it would be interesting to read an Awakening fic where the Shepards learn of Grima's true origins that were revealed in this game. Someone who was part of that first battle with Grima 2000 years ago would be able to explain it properly.
The Mila Tree in Awakening somewhat serves that purpose.
We know of Grimas true origin we even get to explore the lab in which he was created in this game

Since this is Mila singing, I want to mention that "Mila" in my language (Bulgarian) translates to kind, and I think it kind of fits in nicely.

They made and own a song so they have the right to take it down. Music is media like any film or TV show and has the right to be protected and isn't lesser. Companies upload music to RUclips because they want the publicity and don't want pirates distributing it but they made the desicion to distribute it and can chose to stop at any time.

I'm upset that they're doing this with tracks from several games, but won't release a soundtrack so that people can support them. It's the equivalent of a kid telling another kid they can't play with a toy because it belongs to them, only to never use that toy.

Such a brutal, irrational world we live in. Some believe copyright, token of Nintendo's power is necessary to maintain order, but there are wrong, teacher: Copyright is to blame.
Even though there are people who dunk on Fire Emblem for becoming a "dating sim" (which I won't deny just based on the recent games having this as an option), without Awakening saving the series, we literally wouldn't be able to experience Gaiden and all the amazing things it has to offer as a remake in the form of Echoes.

Its a deep song about loss. Imagine being thrown into war to save your world to find out that the king and Prince that you slain along the way were your Father and relative which wanted you to do it. When I learned of the kings identity and his motive to be defeated by his son left me feeling guilty and dead on the inside but determined to finish what I have started.
