Off grid: EcoFlow Delta Pro running an RV

- My friend visited for a few days and wanted to run his RV off the Delta Pro to see if it would be a good and silent alternative to his on-board gas powered generator. We ran it successfully for a full 24hrs, and then tested the appliances to see how much power they draw. Overall, we learned a lot and he has decided to get one to use at night and when running a noisy generator is undesirable. Hope you can learn something from this video!
I purchased an EcoFlow Delta Pro and 2 of their 400 watt panels in May even BEFORE we bought our trailer! We just bought our first trailer in November 6 months later and we have not had a chance to go camping yet. I have been wondering about everything you have spoken about in your video! Your video was really helpful!! Thank you so much and happy camping!
Awesome video! 👌🏾 Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic information thank you
Thanks! Good video. I only would like to comment the noice! It's LOUD! And yeah, I am thinking about one for mainly the shower and the AC.
Great video. The best way to use the DP in an RV is to connect the 30amp DC connection on the DP to your RV, then turn off the converter circuit like you did. This way there is no loss for converting DC to AC then back to DC. That is how I use it in my travel trailer. I keep it in the passthrough storage. Presently, I run the DP 30amp AC connecter outside to the RV 30amp shore power connector. This is a mess and only a temporary solution. I purchased a 30amp transfer switch so I can have it switch between the DP and the shore power, but I have not connected that yet. I need to drop the underbelly to run the wires and am waiting for a few rainless days before taking that on.
Thanks for your great comments!
Hi Frank - we just got a DP and plug our RV 30 amp directly into the DP. The first time we did this and tested various appliances it worked great. The second time we plugged it in, there was a continuous 400-500w draw happening even though we turned absolutely EVERYTHING off in the RV and unplugged everything. Any ideas what could be happening here?? it's unusable to us until we can figure this out as it just drains so fast. Just thought I'd ask, no worries if you have no idea. 😂
@@sunnichapman Maybe water heater?
@@bladeslicemaster5390 we made sure to have water heater and water pump and all that off too. I think it may be actually just attempting to charge our RV house batteries like you said and I need to turn off the converter circuit, but I am not sure where or how to do that on our Forest River Forester RV, we know where the little fuse box with fan is, but not sure how or what to 'turn off' there in order to do that?
@@bladeslicemaster5390 thank you for your reply!
Nice video. Would like to see more testing with AC. Guessing it could only do that few a few hours.
If i had an RV, I'd do all kinds of testing. That would be fun
You should have left the AC to stabilize and get to setpoint for better observation of the draw over a valid period
I just got my D-Pro, $5,000 but worth every penny! It is rather like a computer backup battery on steroids!
Congrats! I use mine every day. I'll post a video of it running an irrigation pump soon.
@@bladeslicemaster5390 It runs microwave ovens like second nature! Sure the first flaw is purchase price; it is pricey. But the one huge flaw is weight. We all know it is not much bigger in dimensions than an average 2000W gas generator but it weighs more than double those generators, 100 lbs!
I would like to say thanks for doing this video. I just bought an ecoflow delta pro. The house batteries are draining the DP. Curious, do u know how big the house batteries were and number of them and how long it took to charge?
I'm sorry, I don't know how big the house batteries were.
So it dosnt have enough to run the AC?
The Delta Pro easily runs the air conditioning.
What size AC was it? BTU?
Good question. The RV owner didn't know.
How many watts are the solar panels connected?
1000 watts al together.
@@bladeslicemaster5390 Thank you for the quick response. Do you know the maximum amount of panel wattage the delta pro can handle? Also do you know if it can run a rv that has a 50amp plug? I know nothing about solar so trying to understand the concept.
@@8victoryinjesus max wattage is 1600, see my video on "running an RV" Thanks!
Shame this is a $5000 solution. Good product though
In all reality ac and heating is a huge part of life why cant any of you just do a video on how long itll do the ac for
Is that a request?
@@bladeslicemaster5390whoa 😅 yeah if your still using it youd be the first video im sure of it 😂
@@cryptologic90 a motorhome A/C unit has a 13.5k btu unit that takes about 1,300 watts while running, start up is much more. The Delta Pro has 3,600 watt hours of battery capacity, so without any solar input, or anything else running, it would run it for about 2.5 hours. Hope this helps, thanks for the suggestion!
Do you know about the soft start for the AC if not check into that @@cryptologic90
YOU KNOWTHEREIS AN RV 30amp PLUG ON YOUR DETA PRO!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't need it.
