A track from the debut Bush album, "Little Things" reminds us not to sweat the small stuff. In a Songfacts interview with Gavin Rossdale, the Bush frontman said: "I was always feeling encumbered by life and overtaken by life and dwarfed by life, and my feelings and my paranoias and my worries were larger than anything else. So, there was always that pain to try to keep all of those worries at bay.
“Welcome my friends to The little things that kill...,,, tearing at my brainnssss aaaahhgainnn” such a meaningful verse. Loved this song for going on 22 years now
👍just about every Bush tune sums up my life back in the 90's. We did some CRAZY stuff while all these songs melted and mumbled and sometimes seemed to play at the speed of light in the background of whatever or wherever we wound up gettn down that night. Ahh To be young again..what a time . What a time. Its almost like we had one very long night that lasted 10 1/2 years!
This song makes me wish I could just have 1995 repeat over and over and over again. When I look back and say "It wasn't so long ago" my husband likes to make me choke on the words by reminding me this year: "Honey, you're 20th high school class reunion is coming up this summer, isn't it? Class of 1995, right?" I'm turning into one of those: Remember when??? people and I hate it! And I immediately hiss back at my husband that no matter how old I get he has a decade over me...I get this way when I get in My Way-Back Machine. :-) I am not coping well with this aging process deal. My mind wasn't ready to leave high school.... still hasn't....damnit. B. x
I've seen everyone saying this is about addiction. It may be, but I also think it is very fitting to describe a relationship that is slowly drifting apart. I love this song because I relate to it that way, and it also makes me sad.
talk about memories.... I saw bush live in 96-97 in birmingham alabama where i live with my first real girlfriend.... Varuca Salt opened up 4 them.... talkin about knocking some dust loose upstairs.... Memories are great, painful but so very sweet......
BRILLIANT ...THEY BURNED BRIGHTLY BUT LANGUISHED IN THE SHADE OF NIRVANA... THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SONGS I CAN PUT ON LOOP AND AN HOUR LATER, MY RUN OR WORKOUT IS OVER AND I'M STILL HEAD BANGING!
Somebody has asked about the "two howling moons" part. I always took it that it meant revolving around their addiction or their addiction revolving around like them. The howling would be their heads and bodies screaming for a fix. This is just what it meant to me.
Grew up listening to this. Imagine a black guy riding through West Greenville blasting this and a little Soundgarden. Talk about being considered a creep and a weirdo (a little radiohead reference, lol).
Ok. But this is grunge. And grunge is white music. Just like heavy metal, grunge is the desperation that white men feel about the shortage of available women.
Hmmm, love this song. Not sure the lyrics are spot on, but close enough. "Moosic"? Are cows doing the guitar solos? I'm a bit perplexed... ahhh well, clueless grandpa here, oh, and thanks! I enjoyed this , some words i never knew till this vid. Cheers♥️
I am not sure if he did on purpose but if he did he is one clever guy (the little things) I noticed that made me laugh is that music is spelt moosic and the spelling error where it says my willy is food which is wrong because it's my will is food thank you for the upload :)
@RazelG the cd booklet has lyrics in it the only reason I remember that is because when i was a kid i never actually understood what that line meant and i spent many hours trying to figure out what that meant.
“Summer is winter, and you always knew” - Dualities are a force, similar to magnetism, and one polarity effects it’s counterpart. If this analogy is truth and is an aspect of the song(I think it is, on both parts) Then this song is talking to a force(and the people that yield it, with no respect) from the perspective of someone awakening to a reality that trust was given(in innocence) and was broken(this symbolizes the loss of naivety, innocence, and trust) the song is about becoming aware of not just one person(making the song universal and relatable) but rather(while personal aspects exist) a palpable sense of a melancholy awakening that the people we trust the most are also the people that we give the ability to destroy what we find most sacred in life. This song was such a hit because so many of us have been awoken to this culture of broken trust. This goes beyond American culture, it is a proper anthem for a planets worth of people. We don’t trust each other, and many have also been properly educated into being completely untrustworthy. A master manipulator will flip the script very easily because the feelings that you perceived from the manipulator, to begin with, were never true. These people are NOT the majority, but there are very few people that have not been emotionally injured by a master manipulator. The master manipulator can recognize the difference between his/her own and a potential victim. This song is written as to be applied by any victim to any of there perpetrators. “Summer is winter, and you always knew” = from the very beginning, you were deceiving me into thinking your “love”(summer) was real + being deceived by the ones you love the most(winter)
Love your analogy. I actually got this song stuck in my head today for no reason and when this happens I believe it’s a message. So I came here to receive it. I appreciate the time it took u to write this down and I’m humbly grateful blessed be
bush will always be a reallu good band so under rated . swear if people just listen to the lyrics instead of jusy the beat and it made since it might mean something to someone .
hahaha it took me forever to find this song! i heard it on the radio and all i could think that this was nirvana cause there singers sound alike! but then after searching all nirvana songs i thought hey it could be bush...and it was!
"I touch your mouth, my WILL is food" not willy, but it wouldn't be out of character for Bush. And they are nearly as mumble-mouthed as Cobain (RIP). I used to sing it as "my will is good", but pronounced like goo-d. This makes more sense lol.
Meth music! At least that's what I was doing when this song came out. Thank God I got passed that shit, It'll steal your Soul, Chew it up and Spit out the Bones,........
songs about his drug addiction. goin up when commin down from the drugs. scratch away (side effect of meth/heroine). on the come down you really focus on the little negative things in your life and it becomes very depressing. finally figured it out.
I don't know why but almost every bush song i hear triggers a childhood memory and it's so weird because i haven't heard them in so long
It's because we grew up in the 90s , my friend! Great times!
fr such nostalgia
90’s childhood rocks ❤
I grew up in 70's and this band rocks!!! Its more like early 20's memories here
One of the most underrated bands across general public's consensus in my opinion
Absolutely

I remember watching this on MTV music videos in the 90's

One of my favs in the 90's I'm 48 & still a great one!
Don't know why this song stayed with me since the 90's. Guess it's those little things
One of the best BASS & GUITAR riffs playin' at once in a rock song from the '90's ! 🎼👏😎🤘
i was obsessed with this song in high school, miss those days
I don't miss high school...not even a little bit
@@Crystal-fv7fu how was it

This band i've rediscovered lately. Long live the 90's and thanks for the vid.

Gavin & Bush are still kicking some major arse. Keep the music alive. Cheers from down under mates!!!!!!!!!!

My ten year reunion is this month
What about me? I graduated high school in the class of 1979. This year is our 40 year high school reunion.
I've seen everyone saying this is about addiction. It may be, but I also think it is very fitting to describe a relationship that is slowly drifting apart. I love this song because I relate to it that way, and it also makes me sad.
yes
I agree that it’s about a relationship that is unraveling and love not given
talk about memories.... I saw bush live in 96-97 in birmingham alabama where i live with my first real girlfriend.... Varuca Salt opened up 4 them.... talkin about knocking some dust loose upstairs.... Memories are great, painful but so very sweet......
I love the "(Moosic)" part. I rewatched this video 16 times for that part.
I like the part where he spelt my Willey is food but moosic tickled me aswell
Sure. For that part.
@shikunisai Agreed. Bush and Nirvana sound a LOT alike in their heavier songs. Even the voices are a little similar. And they're astounding.
June 7th ,2019 still listening to this after all these crazy years
Hahaha I bet 2020 bucking puts that statement in a lot of perspective the good old days the old normal now or in The New Normal
Best Bush song ever imo. featured on Odd man out
I’m still obsessed with song! Wake up with it in my head!,
So do I!!
"Summer is winter and you always knew"
best line
I agree, best line!
Im worse at what i do best. And for this gift i feel blessed.
Bush--"The Sound of Winter"
Meth
IMO this is bush’s best
one of the little things that kill.. is that Bush did not continue to make music. I expected them to be a bigger part of my life back in the 90s.
I fucking miss the 90's

i love this kinda music dude i wish i was born in the era of grunge and punk
This song sounds just as badass as when it first came out. Good job on the lyrics, man.
Remember when good music was good...WTF HAPPENED?!?!
Yeah now Billie Eilish is considered good music. And she just whispers random words into a good beat made on a computer
the great old one this is literally a rip off of smells like teen spirit.
Right? Bullshit became the in thing. I'd say get with time's but fuck that.
You got old

Jane doe I always had a hard time trying to learn these lyrics, you did an excellent job ! Bush and Tool are my favorite 90's bands !
this is too great!!! on repeat for like a week...sorry for my neighbours!
Damn....Gavin Rossdale really could have taken over as the new lead singer for Nirvana! This song reminds me of them so much.
George Woodard, I thought this was Nirvana when I first heard it lol
logan Cook yeah same lol
It sounds the same because Bush kinda copied Nirvana lol. Don't get me wrong, I like Bush more than Nirvana. But they did shamelessly copy Nirvana.
Wish he had😊
So many good memories!
same here
Love this song!😊😊😊
love this song!!! so awesome BUSH FOREVER
I like almost everything by these guys. But this particular cut is exceptionally BADASS.

+foureyedchick no such thing as white music. Black is the absence of color, so all music is black. Music has no color.

radiohead sucks.
