As a child, we listened to the Cranberries often when we visited with her as they were her favorite band. When your mind is lost to hatred and war, and that's all you want... that's all that makes sense to do... that's all you're good for. Horrifying to have to stop and look at yourself. You would rather be a zombie than face that.
Damn. USMC Scout Sniper here. Several tours of combat..wont mention where. I re-read the lyrics of this song. I cried so hard. I am so sorry I couldn't tell my own mother, my wife, my children what I had to do to survive. This song just hit so hard. Damn, I am such a fool that my past still 'is in my head'. I need some help. I feel that I am a fool that I cant let go of my experience. I just want to move on... Start a new life with my current family. I love Bad Wolves for the remake... It hit hard and I needed it. Thank you Bad Wolves. Sorry about the TMI for some folks.

You are worth my time to write this. I do care.
I'm going to be honest, this is the only comment that actually made me cry. You've brought a light in my world that I have lost for years. Thank you so much.
Hi I was looking through the comments and I saw this. This is so inspirational. Thank you for this message. I miss my friends. Thank you for saying this message. Stay safe have a amazing day and I also subscribed to your channel.
I lost my father to war but I never question what he did or the decisions he made. My Father was US Army Special Forces a position that took him so long to achieve. I unfortunately never got to know him very well because of his service but I certainly cherished every second I had with him. I have his uniform among other things. It always puts a smile on my face to see the tabs on his uniform, he earned them all and I'm so proud of him. Airborne Ranger Special Forces.
I love how the song answers its own question: What’s in your head? Answer: *Zombie* Cuz this song is perpetually stuck in my head. I don’t mind tho cuz this is such an amazing song
You can never fully appreciate this song until you hear a 6 year old sing it with such emotion and natural stage presence...…. well for his family but hey we will always be his toughest critics. :) To see his face light up when we are cheering, whistling and clapping...… priceless.
Having my husband serve the US Army this is what the song means to me. "Another Head Hangs Lowly Child Is Slowly Taken" A loved one of a service member looking down in sadness and pain as their child or loved one is taken to war. "When the violence causes silence" What once was a happy home full of laughter and joy turned into silence as their loved one is deployed to war. "But you see its not me, its not my family, in your head in your head they are fighting..." None of this is our fault nor our loved one's fault... But in their heads they're fighting. "What's in your head, in your head, ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE" They are literally the walking dead waiting for their time... They are alive but someday war will take their life... 😞 Just listening to this gives me chills everytime... Its the same old theme in 2020... In our heads... They're all still fighting... 😢😞😔
As a man who was in the Us Navy i see every bit of what you have said here and it brought me to tears as this song always does, I'm glad there are people like you that understand the concept of what the men and women of the military go through when fighting for our country. so I thank you
Saw them live, it was insane! There was such power and emotion put into the performance, Tommy Vext was sooo great. Dedicated the performance to Dolores O'Riordan and it was amazing. Will definitely go see them again if they're ever near.
Can’t stop listening to this! And knowing the history behind it………I love the original version as much as anyone, but there’s always something about rock that gets me, and this cover-especially right now with the Russia-Ukraine thing going on-is soooo powerful. Can’t stop listening! 🤘🏻🖤❤️
Spencer ftm pridemember Sadly until the whole human race dies we will always have wars, religion, power, soldiers, mass population. Wars will always happen no matter what. So that’s why it’s retarded when people say Trump will start WWIII. It’s how humans are, disagreements becomes arguments, arguments become fights, fights become wars.
Yeah. It's about stuff in Ireland. This is an awesome cover of this song too! I think I like it more then the original but I forgot her name but the original singers voice is beautiful!
Who is listening to this in 2020 with the virus and the racism and all the other problems. It's so sad that our world is going through a crisis and we chose to fight eachother instead of try to help one another. Just all the thoughts in my head (sorry not sorry) while listening to this song gave me major feels. I can relate to this song so much. This is a masterpice.
I had pretty much the same reaction when I found the Hidden Citizen's cover of Land of Confusion. (Check it out, the sound is epic.) That song was written in the freaking 80s, and still totally conveys what events feel like right now.
@@moonwatcher99 when I was little I loved that song and I dont know why it's so old but it's just really good and yeah it does make me think of right now
If you're referring to Floyd, that had nothing to do with racism, and the man was on drugs, saying he couldn't breathe before they put him in the hold, and repeatedly telling the cops to put him on the ground.
Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence causes silence Who are we mistaken? But you see, it's not me It's not my family In your head, in your head, they are fighting With their tanks, and their bombs And their bombs, and their drones In your head, in your head, they are crying What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh Another mother's breakin' heart is takin' over When the violence causes silence We must be mistaken It's the same old theme In two thousand eighteen In your head, in your head, they're still fightin' With their tanks, and their bombs And their guns, and their drones In your head, in your head, they are dyin' What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh It's the same old theme In two thousand eight-teen In your head, in your head, they're dyin' What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
It is appointed for men once to die and after this the judgment. Death is appointed, and you are no exception. You only die once, and death is not the end; it is your destiny's door.
I could blast this on my headphones to tune out my family and my friends modern day music. So glad rock/metal is still vibrant these days... we need variety with all the other songs nowadays that seem really uncharismatic.
YES ANOTHER METALHEAD WHO GETS IT!!! I doubt I’m as old as you but there are so many modern pop-y songs that really just lack……humanity? Maybe that’s the word I’m looking for. But then there are the rock/metal/hard rock artists that bring LIFE back to music, and political awareness with it. This is why I love this genre so much-and songs like this amazing cover are what I live for
My great grandpa served in WWI, my grandpa in WWII, my pop in Vietnam who was captured for months, this really hit home because I didn't want my pop to be the last generation in my family to serve, so I stepped up and joined
This song is speaking about how the military corrupts people to kill and suffer, just like a “Zombie” (Perfect song for this) Reminds me of Russia & Ukraine problem
I live in Minneapolis and I've been thinking about this song and seeing everything going on around me. Cops and civilians need to take a look at themselves.
Amen brother I live in Minnesota too and it makes me sad that we live in this world of rage and hatred. We need to be peaceful and respect everyone regardless of anything.
Everytime I listen to this song I feel like I can take on my demons, even when I'm in the darkest of times, even when I lose all battles and lose all hope, this song reminds me that it doesn't matter how much weight I need to carry or how much pain I have to endure, I will always stand back up and fight back, this song got me through one of the darkest moments of my life and I will never forget it.
Hope for peace all over the world brotha but it sucks to say that will never happen cause we live in a world where we rather destroy our lovely earth with weapons of mass destruction (nukes) that's probably why aliens won't visit us or like to be seen by us they probably up there in there flying saucer like Damm Planet earth crazy as hell they over there killing each other over land smh lol but tbh I blame money for all this evil around the world
This might just be my favorite song, it always hits me right in the heart. The Cranberries version is definitely up there next to it, but I just prefer the harder vocals in this version, and this version also hits closer to home because I’m actually living through what this one is about. Idk if that makes sense or not.
Many will this song is already almost 20 years old and is a classic that will be listened to and remade. The message in this song is powerful but falling on dead ears. It will resurge again and again as there will be less deaf ears in the future just like there was more deaf ears on its original release
R.I.P Delores Great and beautiful voice And It’s nice that they remade this song but sad that it had to be done without her And it’s sad to say that her beautiful voice no longer is on this earth Truly Great song
Let me explain the song for you It's based on a war , and even when the war was over it still has affected a lot of people. "The same old theme in 2018 , in your head" this describes even when the war was over people still carry those trauma's fears and thoughts.
vvvfr vevfvf no it isn’t? It’s based on that but also the lady in this passed while driving to re do her vocals in this it’s not based on war its based on your war
@@lonevikingwarrior8227 it was written as a song to protest the way people around the world view war. Nobody truly cares what happens because its in a far off place and its them not me or my family.

Zombie - meaning one's self is gone, which is feelings and caring. Now I'm sure you get the song now.
Thought it referred to the IRA
@@alfalpha9735 it does the lead singer of the cranberries came out and said that. The cranberries are an Irish band, they wrote this song
When your mind is lost to hatred and war, and that's all you want... that's all that makes sense to do... that's all you're good for. Horrifying to have to stop and look at yourself. You would rather be a zombie than face that.
The original song was about the Troubles in Northern Ireland, the reference to being a zombie was how just basically following party lines.
I always thought it was mainly wrote about the war by the cranberries.

Love this song so much ❤❤
I lost my father to war but I never question what he did or the decisions he made.

You can never fully appreciate this song until you hear a 6 year old sing it with such emotion and natural stage presence...…. well for his family but hey we will always be his toughest critics. :) To see his face light up when we are cheering, whistling and clapping...… priceless.
Love this song
Having my husband serve the US Army this is what the song means to me.
"Another Head Hangs Lowly Child Is Slowly Taken"
A loved one of a service member looking down in sadness and pain as their child or loved one is taken to war.
"When the violence causes silence"
What once was a happy home full of laughter and joy turned into silence as their loved one is deployed to war.
"But you see its not me, its not my family, in your head in your head they are fighting..."
None of this is our fault nor our loved one's fault... But in their heads they're fighting.
"What's in your head, in your head, ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE"
They are literally the walking dead waiting for their time... They are alive but someday war will take their life... 😞
Just listening to this gives me chills everytime... Its the same old theme in 2020... In our heads... They're all still fighting... 😢😞😔
Mad respect
As a man who was in the Us Navy i see every bit of what you have said here and it brought me to tears as this song always does, I'm glad there are people like you that understand the concept of what the men and women of the military go through when fighting for our country. so I thank you

Sadly until the whole human race dies we will always have wars, religion, power, soldiers, mass population. Wars will always happen no matter what. So that’s why it’s retarded when people say Trump will start WWIII.
It’s how humans are, disagreements becomes arguments, arguments become fights, fights become wars.

Who is listening to this in 2020 with the virus and the racism and all the other problems. It's so sad that our world is going through a crisis and we chose to fight eachother instead of try to help one another. Just keep pushing forward, you'll make it, until the next pandemic at least.

Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence causes silence
Who are we mistaken?
But you see, it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head, they are fighting
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are crying
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
Another mother's breakin' heart is takin' over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eighteen
In your head, in your head, they're still fightin'
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their guns, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eight-teen
In your head, in your head, they're dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
In the end, the only thing that separates us humans, is death. We only have one life. Live it wisely and leave your mark.
It is appointed for men once to die and after this the judgment. Death is appointed, and you are no exception. You only die once, and death is not the end; it is your destiny's door.
