Well, despite not showing it on their face, Byleth does indeed have a playful side when speaking to Jeralt. I feel happier the more I see Shez and Byleth interact with each other, especially seeing Shez joking around with Byleth.
It's extremely likely that Shez is the first real friend that Byleth has had who is close to his/her own age, as prior to joining up with Shez's side, Byleth reallt only had Jeralt & Alois. The fact that both of them also come from a mercenary background and they are both in the unique position of being able to fully understand each other's "situations" (with Shez being the vessel for Arval & Byleth being the vessel for Sothis) gives the two of them quite a bit in common that can help them relate to each other. The two of them potentially getting together as a couple after the war actually makes the most sense to me out of anyone else Shez has supports with. To me, Shez & Edelgard always come across as more of a professional relationship (albeit a very friendly one which *might* progress into something more once the war is over and there's less of a need for mercenaries, Edelgard could keep Shez around as a personal retainer so that Shez never has to worry about money, food, or a home ever again, and this can also give the two of them a chance to become that much closer over time, especially once Edelgard does away with the class & Crest based society in Fodlan), Shez & Dimitri comes across more like Shez being Dimitri's retainer and maid/butler alongside Dedue (with how much Shez has to keep pushing Dimitri to actually take time to rest and take care of himself, and let the others pick up the slack for him), and with Claude it comes across mostly as just being two friends helping each other out.

Shez would probably even welcome it, since it would mean that he/she would likely never have to return to living as a lone wandering mercenary again. After all, Shez's supports all seem to indicate that other than the merc groups he/she had been a part of, the only long-term relationship and bond he/she ever had was with his/her adoptive mother, and to me they seem to indicate that even though Shez might try to hide it, he/she might be lonely and misses having a relationship with someone to that degree. But, that's just my take on the matter.

(Which mirrors Shez’s statements in one of their supports with Bernie) What results is Shez gaining more to care for and more long lasting relationships, and Byleth being able to express far more. (Byleth themselves feels strange when they get recruited because no one is afraid of them) Like you said, neither would be alone anymore, and that’s something that we know both characters value. I’m not surprised that you think it could turn into something romantic and, while I am not one for shipping, I kind of agree. The foil these two characters are ironically is a solution to issues they have. It’s also a foil of the lords, understanding and talking to someone that they opposed rather than pulling an Arval and refusing to compromise gives Shez a friend and perhaps a fulfilling romantic partner, rather than simply destroying those who oppose them, and that’s something several of the characters in this story will never understand.
Idk why, but. This reminded me of that "Humor?" Line that Dimitri and Byleth share after retaking Fhirdiad. Dimitri tells Byleth they taught him many invaluable things. And one of them options is: "Humor?". To which in response, Dimitri cannot help but laugh or smile... How I miss that :,c

Umm, no. Shez isn’t in this plot at all. Cut them out and nothing changes. They also barely have an arc. If Byleth was done with proper character development and voice that would have been good, but Shez still leaves a lot to be desired.

This is the second part of a paraloge (can’t spell it) called “A Reason to Fight”, which can be unlocked after you have recruited Byleth, Jeralt and Leonie. Leonie can only be recruited in Golden wildfire (directly) and Scarlet blaze (chapter 12), Jeralt and Byleth can be recruited in chapter 10 in both Golden wildfire and Scarlet blaze. After you have all three characters this paraloge will be playable soon.
Jeralt is over three and a half centuries old. If he battles Rhea twice, the second time he mentions how its ' just like that day on the battlefield over 300 years ago'.
Maybe Byleth doesn’t like to drink either way? But anyways, yes both Byleth and Shez are clearly young adults old enough to drink at this point, but to Jeralt who’s much older than them, it’s not odd for him to view them as “kids”. 😅

It's a paralogue from the Golden Wildfire route. You need to have byleth, jeralt, and Leonie in your team.
