Brent Smith is one of the most talented singers in rock today. He does a lot of acoustic covers with Zack Myers, his guitarist, that are phenomenal. They're called the Acoustic Covers. His cover of In The Air Tonight is brilliant.
Yes those covers are great. They have a channel called "Smith and Myers" where they post all of them and they are also available on itunes.
If that doesnt give you chills all over then you know nothing about great vocals!!!!!! This mans voice is a Godsend!!!!

💯 seen them live and Brent killed it love sounded better than the album. He opened up with simple man and 45 on acoustic. They opened for Metallica and killed it. Was crazy.

This reminds me of being a kid at Mom and Dad's. There was a guy that played with Chet Atkins Band way back in the day. In summertime when they were touring and played in Detroit, he and couple more guitarists would attend a BBQ next door and we'd sit out back and enjoy the afternoon into the evening. It was country music, being Chet Atkins, but there is something about sitting next to someone who is "that" talented and hearing them, first-hand and in person. :)
Brent is a great singer, but he's also a good dude. We used to hang out together until he joined Shinedown. I've only seen him twice in the past 10 years, but he's still a cool down to earth guy. I knew at 15 years old he would go far. Proud of him.

I've been to see Shinedown four times so far. I splurged for the VIP tickets once and got to meet them and they did three songs acoustic including this song. They are amazing and I can't recommend seeing them live enough.

Man Brent is amazing man. I watched them open up for Metallica years ago. First song was just him singing like this and he lit the stadium up with simple man and 45. People we're mesmerized. His voice is crazy. Even Metallica said they stole the show. Love Shinedown!

If I remember right. Either a radio station or the band had contest and the winner got Shinedown to perform in his living room. And the reason they did a cover of this song. Was because their guitarist at the time was dating one of Skynrds members daughters.
Do "Save Me" by Shinedown. It showcases his range and is a great warning song about the depths of addiction, especially the line about "the hardest question".

Shinedown's acoustic version of Simple Man is probably the only cover I've ever heard that I think is ever so slightly better than the original and I love Lynyrd Skynyrd! Brent Smith is an amazing singer!

I think, after seeing your reaction to this, you would enjoy Smith & Myers Acoustic Sessions. Smith and Myers are from Shinedown and they perform acoustic covers of some of the biggest songs ever! Everything from Phil Collins to Adele! I love the clean simple sound of these covers. Just a great voice and pure acoustic guitar.

Sawyer Frederick's won the voice a few seasons back. He does this song and he actually did a damn good job. Nowhere near this level but he was definitely impressive. Only 15, too. If you want, maybe react to that. Love your channel, by the way.

Brent's vocals are an 11 out of ten but listen to the guitar as well. Way better than you should even expect.great choice in guitars. Between his buddy playing and the sound of that guitar. They nailed the sound and the emotion 👍

Shinedown is awesome, no doubt about that. But do check out Lynyrd Skynyrd's version, it's the best in my opinion as well. I am partial though, because I was able to see them perform it live and man, it was amazing.

MRM I will never put Shinedown down... always loved them. I wanted you to hear Bo Steele because he is not known by many people and the dude can wail. As far as who did it better? I cant say. They both blow it out of the water. If I had to pick I would have to go with Bo Steele though. he puts everything he has in all his songs.
