One of my favorite covers of all time. I love Brent Smith's voice. He's near the very top of the list of people I would trade voices with of I could. Glad you got to hear this!
Theres a version on youtube called Shinedown simple man - in my house. If you want a raw footage video to react with to see how he sings there. Just him, a guitar and a small group in a house. Can't get anymore live than that. You should do a video on it.
Its great watching a good breakdown of Brents voice. Most people know how great of a singer he is. But a lot of people dont know how amazing his voice really is.
Brent is one of those rare talents with a very versatile voice and amazing range. There’s not much if anything he can’t sing. Chris Stapleton is another if you like blues/country. His country is great but his blues songs really show off his talent.
Ill never forget seeing them live front row on the carnival of madness with Papa roach and In This Moment and when they done this song it was just breathtaking. The whole show was bomb af but this specific song hit hard.
I could listen to Brent song the phone book. He is so amazing and to see him in concert will give you chills. I have seen Shinedown 9 times! And yes, he is a vocal beast!
Love your input! You should check out the “in my house” version of this song, Brent sings this raw in someone’s living room it’s unreal, really shows you how good that dude is! Thank you for uploading 🤘
Great video and voice analysis too. I grew up listening to classic and southern rock and this guy without question is one of the strongest and quality voices I’ve heard. What a great cover and tribute too. Especially when you realize the story and their reasons for doing this song as a tribute to Ronnie Van Zant and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Broo, you actually taught me some technics, the most part of "vocal coach reacts" its just a "simple man😄" watching the video without saying nothing, really goooodd
Ill never forget seeing them live front row on the carnival of madness with Papa roach and In This Moment and when they done this song it was just breathtaking. The whole show was bomb af but this specific song hit hard. Thank you for breaking this down tho, please do the live version too!
If you don't mind, could you analyze Sohyang's vocals? She delivers happiness to people with her voice that is so touching that she is Mariah Carey of Korea.
@ Adam Mishan Hi, first I wanted to say I enjoyed how much you enjoyed & appreciated this cover of Simple Man by "Shinedown". Btw, in Shinedown's video @ 11:02 there's a quick glimpse of Aria Todd, the young girl holding a picture is the Grand-daughter of Ronnie van Zant, lead vocalist of Lynyard Skynyard. Aria's holding onto a large framed picture of him, it was a nice sentiment to her Grandfather! Notice: I felt that there was way too much 'pausing' throughout this particular video, it really was hard to get the gist of the song. If you listen to the majority of this song first you'd have appreciated so much more about this version but you skipped bit's @ the end too, like the full shot of van Zant's Grand-daughter standing in a hallway with the picture, showing it off to the camera, etc.! TY for your reaction never the less, it's your channel not mine.
Hi Adam! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I think you would really enjoy “Sorry” by The Rose. The lead vocalist’s voice is very unique and special. They sound the same live as they do in their track.
wow actually a very good reaction! one of my favorites of shinedown i've seen. Of course, they have way more songs you'd love to react to, if you liked this one. surely some have linked some examples. got a sub out of me!
Please react on Sheryn Regis' Come in out of the rain (on wish 107.5 channel). She is known as the Crystal Voice of Asia. In 2016, Sheryn Regis was diagnosed with stage 2 thyroid cancer. But despite of her operation, she still can sing and belt high notes effortlessly. Cheers!
Please do Shed some light live acoustic from kansas city with Shinedown! Amazing! Love his voice! I would love to hear what you have to say about it! 🤘👍
Adam, I notice you haven't done any reactions to Queen OR to Marc Martel in quite a while. Here's one for you. Not only does Marc sound like Freddie, Tristan Avakian (the guitarist), sounds AMAZINGLY like David Bowie. Mind BLOWN! ruclips.net/video/V-_Y5sCaLpE/видео.html ----- It's quarantine done right!
You NEED to react to Jongho from Ateez! His voice is honestly out of this world, haha. Video i recommend is: "ateez jongho best live vocals (4th gen best vocalist)"(some clips in it aren't live vocals but most are, haha.) I promise you won't be disapointed! He has really powerful voice! If you don't want to react to compilation I would reccomend videos titled: [IDOL RADIO] I will go to you like the first snow by JONGHO ♬♪ and CHOI JONGHO (ATEEZ) - WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN (BRUNO MARS) ON VLIVE
this is not hate just maybe some criticism, I noticed that you pause the video a lot, which is not a bad thing. it's just when you do it. you do it every two words he says. so maybe just cut down on the pausing. I mean it's your channel. you do what you want. just some criticism helpful or not. I don't know it's up to you but if you read this, thank you;
Gen X had the best music But besides that being a vocal coach, I'm surprised you've chose to lis Im surprised you haven't listened to more of a diversity of music Plz check out.. Slaughter to Prevail - Demolisher Eskimo Callboy - Hypa Hypa Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild Run Dmc/Aerosmith - Walk this Way Jinjer - Pisces You'll thank me later..
Do you know Loïc Nottet? If not, you should react to him. His music video "Million Eyes" would be a good start: ruclips.net/video/68EnJITH-5Q/видео.html He's not only a singer but also a dancer.
How can you tell if you even like a song? I understand having to pause but damn. He can't get a complete line out before you're pausing and attempting to recreate. It's a bit obsessive. I wish you luck with your channel but I can't say I'll be sticking around to watch anything else.
Not trying to be "one of those people" just some constructive criticism...I have no problem with stopping a song for copyright reasons, or for content creators to give input on the song, there's many 'vocal coach reacts' channels I follow, I realize if one wishes to watch a video uninterrupted they should probably not be watching reaction videos..lol. I felt though, like I had clicked on the link you mentioned for a free lesson. The singer barely got out two maybe three words, literally, and we paused again for comment. I actually quite enjoyed your thoughts and take on his voice and style, I just wish it would have been a little more summed up with maybe 2 or 3 pauses. Just my take on it, what do I know though, you have well over quarter million subs, you must be doing something right...Cheers. ✌️
I can see why your channel has kinda failed...you, of course, are a vocal coach but pausing ever second to explain the same vocal technique over and over gets old....at least give it a run of 15 to 20 seconds before a pause
Brent Smith is a beast of a vocalist and doesn't get enough recognition.
big facts
and another vocal coach angry that they can't do anything!
FYI, Brent said in an interview that they recorded this song in three takes only 😉

Absolutely the best thing I ever heard with just a voice and guitar and nothing else.
@@kimmi2282 yeah, so good
Might be the best version of the song to be fair.
I watch that one a lot it's one of his most raw most amazing performances! Yes!
Its great watching a good breakdown of Brents voice. Most people know how great of a singer he is. But a lot of people dont know how amazing his voice really is.

Brent is fireeee! Shinedown is lit 🔥🔥🔥
Sounds even better live.
Shinedown is amazing live. Not just this song!
Brent really used that East Tennessee voice
Ill never forget seeing them live front row on the carnival of madness with Papa roach and In This Moment and when they done this song it was just breathtaking. The whole show was bomb af but this specific song hit hard.
You can only love this voice!
I could listen to Brent song the phone book. He is so amazing and to see him in concert will give you chills. I have seen Shinedown 9 times! And yes, he is a vocal beast!
He sings this love in almost every show… it’s actually better live.
Love your input! You should check out the “in my house” version of this song, Brent sings this raw in someone’s living room it’s unreal, really shows you how good that dude is! Thank you for uploading 🤘
“THIS GUYS NUTS MAN!”
Great reaction and very imformative!
Oh he can do it live, just look it up
One of the best covers of a song ever ❤... love shinedown ❤

What a great cover and tribute too. Especially when you realize the story and their reasons for doing this song as a tribute to Ronnie Van Zant and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Yes! His live performance of this song (and just in general) is as fantastic as the published studio versions
One of the few covers that is better than the original.. The cover gets radio play instead of the original
Thank you Adam for your amazing vids!! 😊
Love it 😍
Excellent reaction video. You add so much and your singing is insanely good!
Brent smith is from my hometown,Knoxville TN...he is country, not as bad as most of us lol but still got that momma down
Broo, you actually taught me some technics, the most part of "vocal coach reacts" its just a "simple man😄" watching the video without saying nothing, really goooodd
You want fries with that?
Yes please
It's totally in the original song I have it on "Leave a Whisper"
“The original” as in the lynyrd skynyrd version. Ya know, the one that came first lol
WHEN A “CHURCH VOICE” can scream.
Thanks for dissecating that interpretation with such details. That will greatly help me in my attempt to cover that song. Cheers!
Ill never forget seeing them live front row on the carnival of madness with Papa roach and In This Moment and when they done this song it was just breathtaking. The whole show was bomb af but this specific song hit hard. Thank you for breaking this down tho, please do the live version too!
There's some things you vocal coaches just can't explain or coach. I'd love to see one, just ONE of you admit that
I can tell that ur good vocal coach. I felt it as soon as u pronounce word like shinedown.
One of my favorite songs and your analysis and demonstrations were amazing
I'm a little late to the comment section, but he did this song in 3 takes...
I am the biggest Smith fan around lol. I love these videos just wish I could present song versions that are even better
If you don't mind, could you analyze Sohyang's vocals? She delivers happiness to people with her voice that is so touching that she is Mariah Carey of Korea.
Really love your technic hope someday be the best singer in Angola😍
This is very insightful
