Yeah. Way too many people write it off assuming it's primary function is to be a healer or some shit. It's a melee weapon that when played well can output very respectable amounts of damage. Instead of viewing it as a "support weapon", instead see it as a hammer that can also provide powerful buffs as a bonus. I love using hunting horn in world to speed run ruiner nergigante, and teostra. I just like those matchups. I can literally kill these monsters faster with Hunting Horn than most players have ever killed anything in monster hunter. Hunting Horn is a beast if you know what you are doing with it.

What I love about the wilds hunting horn overview is that there's no mention of the word "support" in it. Roles in monster hunter shouldn't even exist. It's like saying lance should tank and absorb damage for others xd.

My point is to not just stick to 1 purpose, or in this case, role. That destroyed some games, only doing what's intended. Experiment and do crazy stuff, have fun. A pencil cannot only write but push buttons or stick it in your.. cake.

Hell even Bow and Kinsect have some support moves in rise, but seeing as its not like 50% of their main kit like it is with HH, I wouldn't consider them support weapons, especially if they go back to world style where they might just remove those moves.

Monster Hunter World calling the Hunting Horn a "support weapon" was kind of a mistake on their part, made apparent by how they're trying their best to no longer call it that in games going forward. It's clear they're now trying to further emphasize the Hunting Horn's offensive capabilities to make it more attractive to use, like what they did with Rise/Sunbreak.
Hunting Horn a support weapon lol, It rivals any other weapon in terms of DPS and when we play the Song of our People (Attack Up XL) we let everyone else hit the big numbers along with us.

At a middle level of skill a lancer is gonna get a lot faster kills than the gs that misses every other tcs or the ls who can't maintain red meter or hit helmbreakers consistently.

Basic explanation of the charge blade _________________________________________ you hit monsters with the sword until it starts bouncing (not due to sharpness) Then you shield and press the attack button to charge your phials (you want to have full phials, you can tell you’ll get all of them if they’re red) You press both attack buttons until you do an elemental discharge, the move where you use the axe mode and do a big swing that does a bunch of damage, but instead of letting the animation play out press the guard button (or the other trigger). Now charge your phials and do a “super amped elemental discharge” or saed. The input is the same as the normal one but with more damage. Advanced explanation _________________________________________ Then you can guard and press an attack button to charge your sword for more damage. You can tell when to release it by how your shield looks. When it gets smaller release both buttons. From having your shield charged there are two ways to be doing big damage: number one is charging all of your phials again and this time letting the elemental discharge go. Now it’ll be more powerful and send out a shockwave. Number two is going into an elemental discharge or “super amped elemental discharge” and then press the left trigger. This will put you into chainsaw mode, which can be insane or absolutely terrible depending on your build. Edit: they never give you a good tutorial in game for the charge blade, so I’m happy to see that the wilds preview goes I to it a little bit.
Speaking for majorcole, the Uncharted trilogy would not waste his time. It's got funny dialogue, iconic set-pieces for the time, and smooth gameplay that'll never feel slow, except for the puzzles maybe. An entire game feels like a cutscene. And it achieves all that in like 7 hours or less per game, unlike recent single player titles requiring 24 hours to complete. To me, it represents a simpler time. Crushing difficulty turns the game from an effortless story mode to a life or death arcade shooter. Not trying to push Zanny to do anything, but if he's not serious about it because it'll be boring, he's dead wrong about the series.
@zanny Tenderizing is a feature unique to world and linked to the clutch claw when you clutch claw onto a monster not only can u wallbang like usual but if you perform a weapon attack on controller I believe it’s just square for ps4 or ps5 and X for Xbox and this does a weapon attack that may need to be performed twice depending if you are using a heavy weapon or not and can be done on the face, arms, legs, and tail of the monster individually this increases the rate at which you crit the monster and massively increases dps output and with the weakness exploit charm you can make your affinity much higher by tenderizing the monster and hitting that spot. Hope this was helpful :)
All of the weapons look so fucking good. I will be playing Greatsword, Longsword, Sword and Shield, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Insect Glaive, Gunlance, Lance and maybe Bow. The weapon Grind is gonna be insane
I wasn’t too impressed with SnS yet, I feel like the showcase was cut short. But still think I’m primarily maining SnS and Insect Glaive. I love me Swiss Army knife weapon, and depending on the damage of some of its new moves, it could be really nice as the light weight allrounder with a shield, especially since they gave it a new counter that probably feels better than Risebreak guardslash.

@zanny Tenderizing is a feature unique to world and linked to the clutch claw when you clutch claw onto a monster not only can u wallbang like usual but if you perform a weapon attack on controller I believe it’s just square for ps4 or ps5 and X for Xbox and this does a weapon attack that may need to be performed twice depending if you are using a heavy weapon or not and can be done on the face, arms, legs, and tail of the monster individually this increases the rate at which you crit the monster and massively increases dps output and with the weakness exploit charm you can make your affinity much higher by tenderizing the monster and hitting that spot. i HIGHLY recommend looking into charge blade Zanny, its confusing but once you get the hang of it its one of the most fluid and fun weapons out there

Zanny seems to love hammer, therfore ironically if he licked up hunting horn there is a high chance he'd love it. Most similar weapons imo.

I wasn’t too impressed with SnS yet, I feel like the showcase was cut short. But still think I’m primarily maining SnS and Insect Glaive. I love me Swiss Army knife weapon, and depending on the damage of some of its new moves, it could be really nice as the light weight allrounder with a shield, especially since they gave it a new counter that probably feels better than Risebreak guardslash.
